The detective notes that Hiro has no passport, no I.D., and no American money, and Hiro tells him he teleported to New York City from Tokyo "yesterday". Hiro asks them to call Ando to confirm his story, but Ando claims he hasn't seen Hiro in five weeks. Hiro insists it's October 2nd, but the detective shows him a newspaper, proving it's November 8th. He then witnesses the explosion.
