*Hi there, just wanted to make sure there are no hard feelings going on here. I basically felt I should explain myself. As far as I'm concerned, the spoiler pages are for little spoilers - casting calls, details revealed by [http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/index.jsp Kristin], for example, or other such things, like Michael Ausiello, or Spoilerfix. I have never seen a full episodic summary put up like that. The problem was that there was no warning, of any kind, and, as soon as I read the first line, I realised that this wasn't something I want to read. I do agree with you that there is some people who would love this sort of stuff, but I believed that the majority would not want it in such plain sight. Does that make sense?--{{User:Lost Soul/sig}} 03:57, 10 November 2007 (EST) |

Tell me how much I rock below
- 'Cause you know you want to
Signature
- Hi Trecord, and welcome to Heroes Wiki! Your sig is cool, but it was messing up some talk pages cause it was missing a couple closing span tags. I fixed that, but you should also set your preferences to insert your template instead of substitute it, as multi-line signatures like yours can quickly spam a talk page, making it difficult to edit.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:16, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Thanks Miami, what's the best way for me to fix it? Like, step by step? (I'm a wiki noob, if you can't tell!:) --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 00:42, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Click on "My preferences", then in your "User profile" under where it says "Nickname" put {{User:Trecord/sig}} and click "Save" to save your preferences. Then, the next time you save a comment, only the template should be included. Make sure you don't have a substitution (anything with "subst:") in your nickname field.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:58, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, let's see if it worked -----> --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 01:11, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Hmm, I updated my preferences, but it's still giving all the tags and stuff in the signature. I did remove the "subst:" from it, however. --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 01:12, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- What you can do is make a second page, like User:Trecord/autosig, and the content on it is simply {{User:Trecord/sig}}. Then in preferences, use the autosig as the template instead of the sig page. That will fix it. The reason is mediawiki automatically uses a subst: in front of templates. For a reference, look at User:Baldbobbo/sig versus User:Baldbobbo/autosig. Hope that helps.--Bob (talk) 01:48, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Well, here's a first shot. Let's hope it works! --{{SUBST:{User:Trecord/autosig}} 01:58, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Hmm, no dice. Am I doing something incorrect? --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 02:00, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Hmm, for some odd reason it worked the second time. Oh well! --TRECORD-- Talk/Contrib 02:00, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Close. Just in your preferences, type verbatim {{User:Trecord/autosig}}. It'll automatically add the subst in and do the hard stuff.--Bob (talk) 02:00, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- You forgot to put the second {. The cool thing is you only have to edit your sig page if you want to make changes, and all your signatures that use the template will automatically update. Like mine, I have a bunch saved for color schemes.--Bob (talk) 02:01, 10 November 2007 (EST)
