Vortex creation is the ability create a deadly vortex at will.

Anything that enters one of Stephen's vortexes immediately vanishes, not to be seen, touched or heard from again. Stephen can use this ability with relative accuracy, creating a small vortex to disarm Claire in Angels and Monsters.
The upper limits of a vortex's "strength" to pull in objects is unknown. The strongest vortex that Stephen created was capable of pulling in the equivalent weight of an average teenage girl, and could rip wooden boards out of a floor. Besides himself, Stephen has removed at least one other person with his ability.
