Character History

Don't Look Back

Following the address he found in Issue #14 of 9th Wonders!, Hiro arrives at Isaac Mendez's studio, only to find the artist murdered and missing a brain. Police arrive on the scene almost at once, and Hiro faints.

When he comes to, a detective questions him, with Detective Furakowa serving as an interpreter. The detective notes that Hiro has no passport, no I.D., and no American money, and Hiro tells him he teleported to New York from Tokyo "yesterday". Hiro asks them to call Ando to confirm his story, but Ando claims he hasn't seen Hiro in five weeks. Hiro insists it's October 2nd, but the detective shows him a newspaper, proving it's November 8th. He then witnesses the explosion.
