Ability to: | Mimic the traits of arthropods |
Insect mimicry is the ability to mimic the physical traits of insects, spiders, and other arthropods.
Characters
- Mohinder Suresh possesses this ability synthetically after taking an imperfect version of the Formula. He later lost it during the Epidemic, but it was returned by Peter Petrelli using the correct version of the Formula.
Limits
Mohinder Suresh
The imperfect version of the Formula gave Mohinder a range of abilities including enhanced strength, enhanced jumping, enhanced senses including sight, hearing, and olfaction, radiation immunity, cell regeneration, improved stamina, enhanced agility, increased flexibility, wall crawling, and web production. Unfortunately, the imperfect Formula also mutated his body, causing aggression, scaly skin, light sensitivity, jaundice, and hair loss. Matt also noticed that his thought processes were growing more primal. Molly Walker theorized that Mohinder was absorbing the traits of the bugs around him, including cockroaches, ants, grasshoppers, and spiders. The Antidote cured his mutation and removed his abilities. A later injection of the correct version of the Formula returned Mohinder's abilities without the mutation or web production.
Examples
- After first injecting himself Mohinder displayed strength, improved senses, flexibility, stamina, and wall crawling. He also began to develop aggression, scaling, light sensitivity, and the excretion of a sticky material.
- By 2011, Mohinder's body has completely scaled over, his hair fallen out, and his eyes yellowed. He demonstrates superhuman hearing and olfaction when detecting Barbara Zimmerman's ruse. He later demonstrates enhanced leaping and enhanced strength by leaping to and clawing into nearby concrete wall.
