Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 1
Mr. Bennet sends Hana Gitelman an email telling her to retrieve the file, as it will put her "on the right path". Hana searches for the file, but is temporarily frustrated when she learns she cannot use her power to get the file, since it's stored in paper format. She goes to the Pentagon and finds the file in the top secret archives.
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 2
Hana reads the file; it is written by Dallas and tells the tale of a fateful day in November, 1968. Three soldiers were shot and killed on the Mekong River Delta during the Vietnam War. Dallas, too was shot, but was healed by another soldier.
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 3
Hana continues to read the file. Following the informant's lead, Austin and Dallas finally find the downed plane, but the pilots are already dead. They later find the Skyhawk's intended target: the Vietnamese farming village Au Co.
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 4
Hana continues to read the file. As Austin and Dallas look onto the village, they witness a girl who uses unconventional methods to help the village thrive. Dallas orders Austin to prepare for the attack. After rigging C4 explosives around the village, Austin and Dallas carry out the attack. In the midst of explosions, a villager cries out to the special girl, calling her "Au Co". Dallas, realizing that the mission was to kill the girl instead of destroying the village, tries to fire, only to be tackled by Austin.
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 5
Hana finishes the file. According to it, Dallas shoots Au Co and restrains Austin. Not responding in time, he cannot save her before she dies. The two men return to base, where they debrief on the mission. Austin brushes off Dallas's description of his ability as delusion. This angers Dallas, who loses everything he ever worked for in the military because Austin would not admit what he could do.
After returning from Vietnam, Dallas is discharged from the Army and no one believes him. Austin visits Dallas in New York with a change of heart. They learn each other's real names: Linderman and Petrelli.

Hana uses the information she read in the Lonestar File to find Linderman and learn of his connection to Nathan Petrelli.

- The file is partially censored. Sections that seem to mention deaths, Austin's healing power, and Au Co's ability have been blacked out.
- According to the documents revealed on Hana's blog, the Lonestar File was written on March 28, 1969.
