The Civilian
In chapter 1 of The Civilian, Rachel reads a note left in her office from someone saying they want to rent her spare room, and to fix the window. She is suspicious, as she is not renting it out, and the window isn’t broken. When she returns home, she goes to the room and spots someone in her backyard. She rushes out and catches the person, who turns out to be Crazy Tom. He says her mother wants a meeting, and when Rachel meets with her, Leona says she wants to move in with Rachel.
In chapter 2 of The Civilian, Rachel notices that several things in her home are looking older, due to her mother. She notices her neighbor staring at her from his house, and goes to talk to him.
In chapter 3 of The Civilian, Rachel returns from her morning jog, and finds someone in her house, and tackles him. He tells her he is a friend of her mother and a former fugitive from Building 26, but she throws him out, not wanting to get mixed up in what her mom is doing. When she leaves for work, she finds her neighbor on her porch acting more confident than normal, and notices Marc. She tells him to meet her at the diner.
In chapter 4 of The Civilian, Rachel has a nightmare about Claire and Alex. After she wakes up, she talks to Leona about it, and talks to Mykah and Cole in her backyard about their missing cousin, Amber.
In chapter 5 of The Civilian, Rachel watches videos Leona has recorded of her having nightmares. She blacks out, and has another nightmare, and when she wakes up, Claire and Store are standing over her. They talk about what happened, and Claire forgives Rachel for what she did. They then leave to stop the gang war.
