Mr. Bennet sends Hana Gitelman an email telling her to retrieve the file, as it will put her "on the right path". Hana searches for the file, but is temporarily frustrated when she learns she cannot use her power to get the file, since it's stored in paper format. She goes to the Pentagon and finds the file in the top secret archives.

Hana reads the file; it is written by Dallas and tells the tale of a fateful day in November, 1968. Three soldiers were shot and killed on the Mekong River Delta during the Vietnam War. Dallas, too was shot, but was healed by another soldier.

Hana continues to read the file. Following the informant's lead, Austin and Dallas finally find the downed plane, but the pilots are already dead. When Dallas calls him a freak, Austin recounts how he first used his powers to heal his mother and how his parents treated him like a freak. They later find the Skyhawk's intended target: the Vietnamese farming village Au Co.

The file is read more by Hana. As Austin and Dallas look onto the village, they witness a girl seemingly cause enormous plants to sprout from the ground. When Austin realizes she too is an evolved human, Dallas orders Austin to prepare for the attack. After rigging C4 explosives around the village, Austin and Dallas carry out the attack. In the midst of explosions, a villager cries out to the special girl, calling her "Au Co". Dallas, realizing that the mission was to kill the girl instead of destroying the village, tries to fire, only to be tackled by Austin.

• The file is partially censored. Sections that seem to mention deaths, Austin's healing power, and Au Co's ability have been blacked out.
