Claire Bennet hangs a wind chime outside her window to let the Haitian know she needs to speak with him.

About

The Fix

After unsuccessfully searching her father's computer for clues, Claire hangs a wind chime outside her window, telling Zach that "he" told her to do so if she needed to speak with him. Later on, she meets with the Haitian at the abandoned refinery, who says he saw the chime. That night, Mr. Bennet seems to notice the chime while talking with Claire about her manatee project.

The Kindness of Strangers

The wind chime's chiming is noticed by Mr. Bennet, who then meets with the Haitian on his porch. He then learns he has to go to Ukraine.

Truth & Consequences

Claire prepares to hang her wind chime so that the Haitian can erase her memory and ease her pain, but West convinces her otherwise.

Notes

  • The Parkmans also have a wind chime on their patio. However, according to Natalie Chaidez in the episode commentary for The Fix, it doesn't mean that anyone at the Parkmans' home is also in contact with the Haitian. The connection between the two wind chimes is more than likely used as a transition between two scenes, a conventional tactic used in film and television.
  • As of yet, it is still unknown how the Haitian manages to almost immediately detect the displaying of the wind chime.
