The Agent
In chapter 3 of The Agent, upon arriving in Costa Verde, Rachel Mills and Jason Pierce learn from the lead agent that Danko's agents have been watching Alex's apartment but no one has searched it yet. After following other leads, Rachel and Jason arrive to Alex's cluttered apartment. Inside, Rachel finds a pay-as-you-go cell phone with a long-dead battery and a laptop, and Jason find the laptop's power supply under some laundry. Jason boots up the laptop, and it begins retrieving Alex's e-mails automatically. However, Alex's e-mails start being erased. Rachel spots a webcam on the laptop and says hello to Rebel, and a new message arrives telling Rachel to leave. Jason then closes the laptop and ejects the battery per Rachel's instruction. Then, while Jason sits cursing himself, Rachel leaves the room to make a phone call. Jason leaves to go find Rachel a short while later.
Later, Rachel teleports onto the roof of Alex's apartment building, just avoiding getting hit by the blast of Dave Woolsly's shotgun in the dark alley behind the building. From the roof, Rachel watches Jason force Dave to drop his weapon, kick it away, and lay with his face to the ground. Rachel then looks up and around the city, noticing that the whole city's power grid has been knocked out.

- It is unknown how many apartments are in the building, or if the building is only Alex's apartment.
