Portals and People from the List
- Since their pictures are all just post-its anyway, is it even worth the trouble to add them? They're linked from the list, which is in the portals. If we do add them, I think they should at least have their own separate page, rather than cluttering up the other character portals.--Hardvice (talk) 00:22, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- I agree - besides, a post-it is not the person. I say keep them off the portals ... especially when we run into the problem when a "Blank" image or a post-it is the first image on a minor portal page, and that become the navigation pic -- it's just silly. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:05, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- I'm still working my way through the site, and just found the 'Unseen Characters' page. There are several folks listed here that have similar 'yet to be listed' counterparts. Should we add them here too? Specifically, I am thinking of the following folks not listed here, but also yet-to-be seen:
- Abu Aswan
- Penkala Burton
- Daniel Buzzetti
- Frank Cava*
- Nicholas Datre
- Arthur Dowland
- Rebecca Finder
- Harry Fletcher
- Paula Gramble
- Curtis Hovspian
- Theresa Hu Pham
- Ethan Kimb*
- Elena LaCarte
- Sue Lande*
- Noel Menzies
- Jess Murph*
- Leoni Pinkham
- Sparrow Redhouse
- Adam Soo Hoo
- Linda Tavara
- Michelle Valcan
- Norman Vantris
- Deigo Vela*
- Candice Wi*

- Personally, I wouldn't add the characters from the map or the list until after they are mentioned on the show. I know the people on the list are "referenced", but I'd wait until they are discussed in some way. Maybe on Monday, Mohinder will yell at the FBI and say "Go find Ethan Kimb*!" :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:08, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- I went ahead and got screencaps of anyone who had new information provided on the interactive map. Since we're detailing both the show and the Heroes 360 stuff, I can see some value in adding them, but the folks who are so far just on the list seem like overkill. All their articles will essentially be identical and will provide no more info on them than the list already does.--Hardvice (talk) 12:00, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- Would it be worthwhile, (or just wasted overkill), to take all of the ones that are named and only on the list and who would pretty much have the same info, and create a sub-page where those names are simply listed so they don't overload the 'Unseen Characters' list itself, but are at least documented from that page? (Since one would expect a page of 'Unseen Characters' to include all the known ones) Just another idea of how to include them, but not be overkill and create too much work...--HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 13:03, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- The best place to include such a list would probably be right on the Category:Unseen Characters page itself.--Hardvice (talk) 12:24, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- OK, I tried to make it as simple and unobtrusive as possible...when/if these folks become more active in the future, we can pull them off the list, and give them more homage. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 14:03, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- I'd say make pages for those mentioned with powers (or other info.) If it's just a name, it doesn't need a whole page. But people like Tracy Chobham I think deserve a page.--Riddler 13:46, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- Everyone with any information from the interactive map (powers, location, genetic gobbledegook) now has a page.--Hardvice (talk) 14:27, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- Looks real good! --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 03/13/2007 21:16 (EST)

Unseen
- Did we ever determine the criteria for "unseen"? Does it mean they've not appeared in an aired episode yet or that there's no real picture for them? Are we including people we've seen in graphic novels but not in an episode? We have a picture for Shanti Suresh now, so by our criteria do we still consider her unseen? (Admin 15:11, 20 September 2007 (EDT))
- I don't think we've ever really had a discussion about it (or at least one that I remember), but I always assumed that the category was for people who have not made a physical appearance in an episode or a graphic novel. A picture wouldn't count as an appearance. The short of it is, this category is automatic when
mention =
is filled out on the character box. When the mention turns to a debut, the category is dropped. Take Mr. Petrelli, for instance--talked about a ton in the episodes, but never seen--he was unseen. Then he appeared (as Dallas) in a graphic novel, so the category was removed. That's how I understand it, at least, and that's how I believe it's been handled in the past. In Shanti's case, she still hasn't made an appearance (a photo doesn't count). If there's a flashback episode, or a graphic novel in which she speaks, then the category would be removed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:21, 20 September 2007 (EDT)- Agreed. How are we to know that the photo is actually of Shanti? We don't. The GN's are equivalent in telling the story as an aired episode, so a character that is being portrayed is "seen", whereas a sketch (like Maya and Alejandro's mugshot) would not qualify that (though they're seen later in the GN). --Bob 16:57, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
- Sounds perfectly reasonable and perfectly reasoned.--Hardvice (talk) 17:24, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
- The only exception would be something from Heroes 360, I suppose. We've been very unofficially classifying that content a notch lower than the graphic novels (hence the inclusion on the site and on mainspace pages, but everything relegated to its own section). For instance, if the next Sword Saint documentary had somehow been able to dig up archive footage of the princess (didn't they have video cameras in 1671?), I would still say she hasn't made an appearance...especially since actual characters who appear in the 360 content (Walter, Kelly Shoemaker) aren't even considered characters on our site. But I suppose we can cross those bridges when we come to them. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:55, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
