Since this graphic novel is now available, would it be appropriate to update the pages for Austin and Linderman to reflect its revelations? --Ted C 16:59, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

If you look at Talk:Austin, we have a list of things to do to merge Austin/Linderman and Dallas/Petrelli--Bob 17:05, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

Ugh

  • Sigh* A comma splice in the introduction, which is going to be on our main page for a week.--Hardvice (talk) 17:24, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Would it be so bad to just fix it? All we need to do is replace the comma with a semicolon. --Ted C 17:27, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Which sentence is it? The one about the downed aircraft? I would think a colon is the proper punctuation to use there. In any event, since it's a quote we really shouldn't change it. I think most people won't even really think about it. (Admin 17:40, 9 April 2007 (EDT))
        • Oh, nevermind, you're probably referring to the last part about them clashing. (Admin 17:42, 9 April 2007 (EDT))
      • Not really. I've already taken to ignoring the ever-changing spelling of "Gitelman"/"Gittelman"/"Gittleman".--Hardvice (talk) 17:41, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

From Talk:Austin

Here's some things a merge like that would entail:

1.Drop Austin's history into Linderman's page
2. Tweak the categories a bit (Linderman would be Category:Military, for example)
3. Merge pertinent notes and infobox stuff
4. Austin's home and Austin's mother and Austin's father would be changed, I guess to "The Lindermans' home", "Mr. Linderman's mother" and "Mr. Linderman's father" (which kinda sound funny, but what the hey).
5. Parts of Theories:Evolved Humans#Austin would be deleted, other parts merged Linderman would also be moved off of Theories:People
6. Austin would not be considered one of the Graphic Novel Characters, so he'd have to be taken off the portal and template, which is really not a big deal.
  • I agree with Hardvice, that #4 probably doesn't need to be done until Linderman mentions them himself. We're best off leaving them as they are for now. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:07, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, that's why I didn't touch it.--Bob 21:21, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

The Park

...looks to be Central Park in NYC. That's the Bethesda Fountain.--Hardvice (talk) 17:45, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I couldn't identify the landmarks in the park, but they looked familiar. This is probably the setting that Jason referred to being a future setting in the show.--Bob 17:48, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
  • Ooh, good call. And that would be a good argument for the Petrellis' home not being in the GN. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:11, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

The Petrellis' home

Are we sure this is the same house as the one Nathan lives in today in Hyde Park, NY? That would mean he and Austin drove about 80 miles to talk in the park. I don't recall any references to it being the family home; couldn't it just as easily be Nathan and Heidi's home, but not Angela and Mr. Petrelli's?--Hardvice (talk) 18:06, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

  • In fact, the home in the Graphic Novel looks a lot like the scenes of Peter and Angela from the .07% spoiler pictures--it's even got the same fabric on the chaise and the same color on the walls. I bet that's the location Jason was talking about, and I bet it's Angela's home.--Hardvice (talk) 18:08, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Good call. I'm sure I was jumping the gun on that one -- it just kinda looked a bit like their home, but I don't really have any specific reason why they'd be the same. Shall we call it "Dallas's home"? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:11, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Or "Mr. and Mrs. Petrelli's home". We can rename it after .07% if need be.--Hardvice (talk) 18:14, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Ooh good points by all. Yeah, I don't think Angela lives with Nathan, and in the preview for .07%, Mohinder goes to a door with the metal bars similar to those by the door when Linderman visited.--Bob 18:16, 9 April 2007 (EDT)

So I went ahead and made a very rough article. I was encountering some problems with the Portal:Places for GN's, so whomever can get that done, that'll work. Time for bed.--Bob 02:29, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

Peter or Nathan?

Heroeswiki seems to be taking for granted that the infant son in this GN is Nathan. Why is that? In the scene at the end of this GN, Mr. Petrelli mentions that he has a wife and family, not a wife and son. Also, when Linderman shows up, Mr. Petrelli says he looks older. So at least a few years have gone by, maybe a decade or more. It is possible that this occurs as late as 1981, when Peter would be an infant. On the other hand, we don't know Nathan's exact age. But, since he's Claire's father, he was probably already born by 1967, or some other time prior to the Au Co incident, making him at least 23 when Claire was born in 1990-91. If this is the case, then he could just barely be the child in this GN if the last scene occurs in 1970 or before, which is doubtful IMHO. Otherwise, Nathan could have been conceived immediately after his father returned from Vietnam and born in 1969, just to be 21 when Claire is born, which is also possible, but it rather limits the chronological options to claim with certainty that this is Nathan. Of course, there may have been something else I missed completely.--E rowe 21:37, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

  • It's great that you're looking for speculation--thanks for keeping us on our toes. :) First, the letter Dallas received in War Buddies, Part 2 mentions a son. Second, the kid playing with the flying toys looks like Nathan. But really, the reason we are justified in saying that the kid is Nathan is because Jason Badower says so on his blog. In fact, he even alludes to the idea that when Linderman visits Mr. Petrelli, that it could be the next day (though I think he mentions that on a 9thwonders.com post). — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:02, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
    • OK, that's good enough for me. But it looks like they didn't straighten out the War Buddies story line. I can't see how it could possibly be the next day, especially from Petrelli's comment about Linderman looking older. But that's a good catch about the letter. That nails down Nathan's birth year to around 1967, I'd say.--E rowe 22:12, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

WBP6

Is Jason doing Part 6? I read on his blog that he was starting on another comic, so I just guessed that he wasn't doing the last one. That makes me a sad panda.--Bob 02:02, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Originally, he was supposed to do the Heroes graphic novel that is coming out after War Buddies. He was asked at the last minute to do Parts 4 and 5 (the other artist dropped out). I don't know if the plan is still to have him do the post-War Buddies GN or not. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:40, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
