Interview:Simon Rhee
On the 2nd of October heroes wiki conduced a interview with Simon Rhee, who is the stunt dubble for George Takei and does choreography. This interview was conducted by skywalkerrbf.
Which of the stunts which we see on Heroes have you had a role in creating?
I did the choreography for the samurai sword scene with Masi and George Takei.
I also doubled George Takei in another episode where a guy tackled me and I fell off the building.
If you could have any power, then what would it be?
Probably to be able to influence kids to grow up with character/integrity...
If that isn't what you are talking about, maybe being able to fly (L.A. Traffic!)
Did you enjoy working on Heroes? Was it different from any other jobs you have had?
Yes. All the shows I have worked on a little different and unpredictable, but I enjoy it all...
Do you have any stories from your work on Heroes?
When I was teaching Masi the fight choregraphy for the sword scene, he didn't like the fact that it was not purely Kendo, but after the taping, he came and bowedto me because the fight scene was spectacular. The choreography has to betailored not to the true sport itself but to the camera and what the camera will pick up.
Where you a fan of Heroes before you took the part?
No - I had not seen it yet.
If so do you have a favourite character or episode?
I like Greg Grunberg's character
You have also done acting in lost, what was it like to work with Daniel Dae Kim?
I have worked with him before so it was very pleasant working with him in Hawaii.
How long do you practice your Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do every day?
Every day - at least an hour along with conditioning and other styles like Jujitsu and Philipino sticks/knives.
