Character History
Don't Look Back
Hiro Nakamura teleports himself from Tokyo, Japan to Times Square, New York, NY. Walking down the street, he greets many people in broken English. Suddenly, a comic book on a newsstand catches his eye — its front cover is him, shouting "Yatta!" in the middle of Times Square, just as he did a few minutes ago. Eagerly flipping through the comic, Hiro begins to read but is interrupted by the newsagent who wants him to pay. He tosses the man a thousand-yen note and sprints off.

Hiro's blog
- In the post "Where to Begin...", Hiro says "The scary newsstand owner wouldn't let me read [the comic] there so I had to make a run for it. I didn't steal it though. A hero would never steal. I payed him. In yen. In fact, I over payed him with 1000 yen. I even told him he can keep the change. (^_^)"
Saving Charlie
- Just before Hiro is about to flip a page of 9th Wonders!, "the surly newsstand owner, who had a face like a boil," interrupts Hiro. The newsstand owner barks, "Hey, pal. This isn't a library. No pay. No read." Hiro gives him a handful of yen then runs away. (Chapter 17)
