Talk:Eden McCain
If we're going to change the format on the "Memorable Quotes" section, then we need to change it everywhere.--Hardvice (talk) 22:12, 18 November 2006 (EST)
Wanted Dead or Alive
- Are we sure she's actually dead? Is there actual evidence that she's dead? --DrDuck 05:41, 6 December 2006 (EST)
- I think it's confirmed in the online comic associated with the episode. --Ted C 09:56, 6 December 2006 (EST)
- Yeah, she's dead. She killed herself to prevent Sylar from taking her power. You're right, it is confirmed in the graphic novel Fathers & Daughters. (Admin 09:58, 6 December 2006 (EST))
- Never say never. It's very plausible to write Eden back into the story. Considering the ability she had, and her motivations, there's an easy and rational way to bring her back from the dead. Whether the writers want to bring the actress back, that's a completely different story. -- ZachsMind 16:39, 14 February 2007 (EST)
- Her body was recovered from a lake in Canada. She's definitely dead. --Ted C 17:14, 14 February 2007 (EST)
- HRG was told that. We haven't seen the body. The last three people we saw her talk to before her 'death' were HRG, Mohinder, and Sylar. Given her ability, it's very plausible that what we've seen was from their perspectives, and what she actually told them was something else entirely. The only way she was going to get out from under HRG was if he thought she was dead. I also believe the FBI agent that told Mohinder about Eden's death was actually her. -- ZachsMind 19:03, 14 February 2007 (EST)

Eden's Power
Poor, poor Eden... Alas, I pine. Anyway, I vote that we change Eden's power from "Suggestion" to "Persuasion" - that's what Sylar calls it, and I think it's so much more descriptive. Any opposition? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:46, 4 December 2006 (EST)
- The only times we see Eden attempt to persuade are times when she is avoiding her power. (After "Six Months Ago" and relearning self-control, and before Bennet demands she use her power again.) Her power is that she doesn't need persuasion or physical coercion to gain compliance for anything. I would agree with improving her power description on her own page. Arguably every woman has the power of persuasion, and the ability to suggest. In Eden's description, I'd...recommend replacing "Suggestion" with Mental Dominance. —Dreamcore 12:15, 5 December 2006 (EST)
- Though mental dominance may describe Eden's power, I'm not sure it's specific enough to tell exactly what she does (um, did). :) I still say "Persuasion" is the best bet. Maybe "Coercion". - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:11, 5 December 2006 (EST)
- True, a problem with "mental dominance" is that it's a jargon term for parapsychology types. While more specific than it sounds, it probably won't get it across to most. Perhaps "Mind Control/Compliance". "Suggestive mind control"? Also, she wasn't shown communicating her commands in another way than aural/orally. "Coercion" or "persuasion" could work if qualified in some instant mental/psi/aural way. —Dreamcore 20:14, 6 December 2006 (EST)

Trivia
On the whole Eve/Eden thing... oops. --Ted C 17:56, 14 February 2007 (EST)
- I can see how it would be confusing, since at least half of all posters on the boards think her name is "Eve".--Hardvice (talk) 17:59, 14 February 2007 (EST)
"The Haitian and Eden seem to have honed their abilities before any other evolved humans."
regarding this.. Claude has been invisible for 15 years.. What evidence is there that Eden honed her powers before him? --Frantik (Talk) 23:29, 23 February 2007 (EST)
- I think that was written about four or five episodes before Claude showed up. It should be edited.--Hardvice (talk) 00:01, 24 February 2007 (EST)
- I took it out altogether. I never liked that line very much anyway. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:22, 24 February 2007 (EST)
Any chance that Eden McCain is the daughter of Angela Petrelli?
She looks a lot like him and it is possible that they are related, I put this up because I do not know how to start a new theory on the theories page, if anyone can tell me please do Martinpetrelli94321 19:34, 24 December 2007 (EST)
- I set it up for you on Theory:Eden_McCain. -- Lulu .:talk:. 20:16, 24 December 2007 (EST)
Eden, or Sarah?
So this might be a bit anal, and considering how many times Eden's name probably comes up on this site I can understand reluctance to change it, but I just want to point out that technically her real name is Sarah, while 'Eden' is her alias name, so shouldn't we refer to her as Sarah? To back up my arguement I just want to point out that we haven't changed Eric Doyle's page to accomodate his name change to Jason, so why is Sarah called Eden?--Kooliki 20:05, 3 October 2009 (EDT)
- We use the character's most used name. We call her Eden for the same reason we call Gabriel Gray Sylar. See here. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:22, 3 October 2009 (EDT)
- Right, right. Like Knox and D.L.. Well that was a stupid suggestion, forget I made it.--Kooliki 22:57, 3 October 2009 (EDT)
- Nope, not a stupid suggestion, but a valid question. It shows you're thinking about the characters, that's good. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:03, 3 October 2009 (EDT)
