Talk:Explosion memorial

  • Should we made a list of the victims? I found high-res sreencaptures here. Some names can be read.
    • As if we don't have enough lists ? :) Hehe, well, I don't think we should, assuming we will never hear about thoose people. It could have been cool to see Ando on the memorial but as far as we don't see names we already know, I think it's pointless and a waste of time. But we may have to create this later... don't know yet! -- FrenchFlo (talk)        09:51, 2 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Yeah, you're probably right. Further screencaptures can be found here.

Place or event

  • When I redlinked this, I was actually thinking of the place (the memorial to the explosion, i.e. the "plaque"), but I guess it works as an event, too. However, we should have an article for the place -- perhaps "Ground Zero"?--Hardvice (talk) 16:22, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

Clarification of Labeling Nathan only

"the fact that the link goes to Sylar in the future is enough to let someone know it's Sylar, not Nathan" was given as to why the clarification of why "Nathan" is listed, without any mention of Sylar. Sure the link takes you to Sylar, but any reader who goes to the page to read it, and doesn't decide to click on the link won't know this. We shouldn't have to require clicking on links to derive clarity. Anyone who reads the page by itself, will think it solely pertains to Nathan Petrelli only....and not Sylar disguised as Nathan. To me, that is quite misleading. Even if the link is clicked, it could be interpretted as a mistaken link, since there is no clarification on the page stating that this is Sylar disguised as Nathan. It should be more clear to the reader, and shouldn't require them linking to another page to figure it out. Nowhere on this page, is Sylar mentioned...not even once. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/21/2007 15:54 (EST)

  • Even if we do decide to label it somehow, we're not just going to stick (Sylar in disguise) in parentheses like that. That sounds awful.--Hardvice (talk) 16:23, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Look, depending on how long Candice sticks around (or future Illusionists are used in the story), this type of scenerio where you have people disguising others may become an issue throughout many pages. We need a standard way to portray this, and it be clear and easily understandable to the reader. If you go read the page right now, and you weren't aware that Sylar was disguised as Nathan, you would get the impression from how the page is written that Nathan Petrelli only, is at the Memorial, and Sylar is not at the Memorial. (From a reading, not clicking-on-links perspective). Ultimately, we need a standard way to denote Illusionist-Masquarades in scenes. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/21/2007 16:32 (EST)
      • Actually, if you go to the page right now, it reads "Sylar, masquerading as U.S. President Nathan Petrelli, holds a memorial service at Ground Zero." Full sentences, without any lame parenthetical comments. :) --Hardvice (talk) 16:35, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
        • That's fine. That clarification wasn't there when I added the lame parenthetical comments last week. At that time, it just said, "President Nathan Petrelli" --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 05/21/2007 16:47 (EST)
          • And that's why my comment above didn't say "oh, that's a terrible idea" and instead said "oh, that's a bad way to execute this idea".--Hardvice (talk) 16:55, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
