Talk:Joshua Gitelman

If he's still alive, think he'll play a larger part in the show? Maybe even be the older looking man (since he was born in 1938) in the Group of 12? He COULD have had a power, as Hana has one and we've seen that children with powers tend to have a parent with a power. Hmm. --Riddler 20:38, 24 October 2007 (EDT)
- I just think it would be hard from a logistics standpoint to get much of a payoff in the shows out of any of Hana's family being in the group. She's just such a trivial character in the show, and now that she's effectively dead... I suppose they could just say his name and leave it at that, but that's going to leave the non-comics non-graphic novel audience wondering who the hell he is.--Hardvice (talk) 20:53, 24 October 2007 (EDT)
- They could expand his story in the graphic novels. That would be a payoff to that audience. If they ever show a list or something of the Group of 12 names, then "J. Gitelman" could be snuck in there. Non-overly obsessive fans wouldn't notice something like that.--Tim Thomason 00:45, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
- Honestly, I got the impression from the graphic novels that Hana's mother and grandmother were the "special" ones. While it was never explicitly stated that either were evolved humans, Hana implies from their extraordinary natures that she inherited her courage and strength from them, and thus the whole of her "specialness" (i.e. her ability). -- Paronine 00:50, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not sure that being on the Go12 means you *have* to have special powers. It's possible that he was a "concerned citizen" that met up with Evolved Humans and attempted to "save the world" and what have you. For all we know, he could've met the evolved future Mrs. Gitelman on one of the first "bag and tag" missions.--Tim Thomason 01:01, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

- Just a note, the picture of him here looks an awful lot like Ian Patrick Williams, who plays Alvar Hanso in LOST (which also has some superhumans). --Yamawhata? 21:55, 5 March 2008 (EST)
- When I met with Jason Badower, we talked at length about Lost--we're both huge fans. But regarding the image, he said, "Drawing three totally different Jewish people was fun and interesting. I wish they were somebody as they would probably be nice portraits. I'm sure I could have used some friends or something and made some brownie-points while I was at it, but I guess there's a limit to even my gratuitous in-jokes and multi-tasking." I don't think Joshua is modeled on anybody in particular. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:44, 5 March 2008 (EST)
- I didn't really mean that I thought he was drawn based on him, I was just thinking that usually if someone moves from the GN's to the show, they usually have an actor cast already so they don't look too different; so in this case, there's always a possibility that he could still make the transition because IAW looks close enough to the pic to play him in-show. --Yamawhata? 18:47, 6 March 2008 (EST)
