The 30 second intro

So, do we count the 30 second intro as part 1 or not as anything? Because that would mess the order up and add some others like Jim. ~~IHHTalk 09:55, 20 November 2015 (EST)

  • It's a good question. I'm in favor of making it Part 1 and Part 2. I don't really have a good reason for it other than that it seems better than having the entire two parts as one webisode. --Radicell (talk) 13:30, 23 November 2015 (EST)
    • If the webisode includes repeated content from the commercial, as I think was the situation with the Slow Burn webisodes, then I think the repeated content counts for the same webisode article and not another part. I'm not sure if that's the situation here, though... did Damen's scene in the board room also make it to the webisode? If not, I'm thinking we should consider a promotions article for the commercial...--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:19, 23 November 2015 (EST)
    • P.S. I'm okay if it is decided to call the promotions article, Webisode:Damen Peak, Part 1.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:22, 23 November 2015 (EST)
      • Nothing from the "intro" is part of the actual 3 minute one. But the intro is only 30 seconds, so I don't think it would be considered a full webisode. ~~IHHTalk 17:40, 23 November 2015 (EST)
        • I'd rather see the 30-second "intro" as an advert for the 3-minute webisode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:13, 23 November 2015 (EST)
        • Gosh, actually I'm not sure. It's odd. I really hope there's a second part in January... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:20, 24 November 2015 (EST)
          • The issue with treating the 30-second intro as merely an advert is that Jim would never have made an appearance, technically speaking. I think that's why my initial reaction was to make the 30-second intro Part 1, exceedingly short as it may be. --Radicell (talk) 14:54, 27 November 2015 (EST)
            • Regardless of whether or not it is a clip from a longer aired segment, I think the wiki could treat the online clip "A New Target: Damen Peak" as the first part of the webisode series, as I don't think a 3 minute minimum length and not being on TV are requirements for it to be considered a webisode (Wikipedia:Webisode currently notes "while there is no set standard for length, most webisodes are relatively short, ranging from 3–15 minutes in length" and "a webisode may or may not have been broadcast on TV"). Are there tighter guidelines anyone is thinking of?--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:05, 27 November 2015 (EST)
              • I don't think it has anything to do with a time limit. The 30-second clip is written and plays like an advertisement for something longer, that's all. Perhaps what we should do is consider the 30-second clip as Part One for now. If and when we get more content, and if it looks like the 30-second clip is really just an advertisement, and we can change our naming then. Sound good? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk)
                • Although I agree with the split into Parts 1 and 2, I've gone ahead and modified the appearance template as if they were one whole thing for now (mainly just to get Jim on there). For what it's worth I found this video file on the NBC website that has the "teaser and digital" as one video -- not sure whether this changes our thinking. --Radicell (talk) 00:00, 4 December 2015 (EST)
                  • Although a small part of me is still holding on to hope that we will get more content, I really don't think we will. Putting this as one unit is a good idea for now I think. It's not ideal, but it works. We can reevaluate if we get more content. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:43, 4 December 2015 (EST)
                  • The writer and co-director David Hartwell links on his LinkedIn Pulse article to the combo URL Radicell just posted here, so I agree for now with keeping it one unit. I think some of the summaries need to change to add the intro. info.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:33, 4 December 2015 (EST)
