Is there a less wordy name for "Woman in a red dress"? Perhaps something along the lines of "green-shirted man"? --Radicell (talk) 15:12, 12 November 2015 (EST)

  • Yeah, I don't know that red-dressed woman would mean the same thing...there's also red-gowned woman, red-robed woman, and red-frocked woman as possibilities.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:30, 12 November 2015 (EST)
    • I agree, "red-dressed woman" wouldn't work since "dressed" means something other than "wearing a dress", viz. wearing something in general. I haven't got access to the graphic novel but perhaps someone could check if what the woman is wearing could accurately be described as a gown or a robe. --Radicell (talk) 15:34, 12 November 2015 (EST)
      • She's very much wearing a red cocktail dress. My wife (who is more of an expert on dresses than I am) says that "gown" or "robe" wouldn't be appropriate. However, she is also chewing gum and blowing a bubble, so she can be a "gum-chewing woman" if we want (which may also be deemed as less sexist than defining her by her clothes, but that's a minor quibble -- and it's certainly better than "the street gang's ho"). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:40, 12 November 2015 (EST)
        • Gum-chewing woman sounds alright to me (hyphenated descriptions are never ideal but better than what we have). --Radicell (talk) 10:57, 18 November 2015 (EST)
