Template talk:ConnectionsTOC
Merged talk from old template
Well, the thing I don't like with this template is that Memorables Quotes and Notes are sooo lonely in their bottom left corner. It's a little bit empty ; we should center them and maybe increase the font size.. -- (talk) 13:29, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Oh, see, that's one of the things that I did like about this template, that those two sections are the same size and alignment as the others. :) Let me see what I can do. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:34, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Actually, there may be a solution that will satisfy us both (or at least me). We could follow the model of template:PowersTOC and just leave off the MQ and Notes sections. That way, there'd be just the characters' names (which will grow in S2), and no funky indenting or font size issues or anything else that tends to bug us (or, again, just me). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:37, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Sounds good to me :) --

- Alrighty, let me switch up this template then. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:30, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Okey doke, it's not perfect, but I think it's a huge improvement. The TOC should probably go below the "Characters" heading and above the br clear all. It creates some whitespace, but I still think it's better than what we have in place already. Another option is to make the text larger, I guess, but for some reason I still prefer the small text. Plus, the list will grow and will fill in some of the whitespace. I went ahead and included it so we can see how it looks. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:36, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- That's fine, but I would increase the police of +1 or +2 :) Having a small and clean police is good ( and all MAC-like) but for me this one if just a little bit too small ;) But I surely prefer this template than the actual one or mine that as you said; looks like a navbar :) --

Horizontal TOC
Wow, great minds think alike. *grin* I just suggested this on the talk connections page and here it is.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:14, 14 May 2007 (EDT)
- About the TOC; I find it pretty ugly; what do you think about something like this

- It does look better, though I would add some cellpadding to the 'Characters' title table.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:31, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- And done. I don't manage to fix the whitespace between the tables.. If someone can.. All "spaces" need to have the same height than the one between Content and Character table. --

- I like the idea of redesigning the TOC. I don't like the idea of making it look like our navbars. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:13, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

I don't know if this is any better for you, or if it takes care of the things you don't like, but it works a little better for me because it's much more of a table:
Contents: edit |
Adam • Alex • Amanda • Ando • Angela • Anne • Arnold • Arthur • Audrey • Bob • Candice • Caspar • Chandra • Charles • Charlie • Claire • Claude • Danko • Daphne • D.L. • Doyle • Eden • Edgar • Elle • Emily • Emma • Erica • Flint • Hana • Harris • Hiro • Isaac • Jesse • Joanne • Kaito • Knox • Lauren • Mr. Linderman • Luke • Lydia • Malina • Matt • Maury • Maya • Meredith • Micah • Miko • Mohinder • Molly • Monica • Nathan • Niki/Jessica • Noah • Peter • Quentin • Rachel • René • Samuel • Sandra • Simone • Sparrow • Sylar • Ted • Thompson • Tommy • Tracy • Usutu • West |
It especially looks nice on the character connections page when squished up against an infobox. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:44, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
