Series Bars
I'm thinking this will work better if we only put it on the main articles, not on the "see also" articles. Also, it lets us add articles for important paintings (exploding man) or series of paintings (the homecoming paintings) if we want.--Hardvice (talk) 00:21, 13 December 2006 (EST)
- I think it's a terrific solution! 2 related questions: I just added a "See Also" section to prophecy, Isaac's paintings, and 9th Wonders! - are they now obsolete, and should I erase them? And on an unrelated topic, it's an interesting choice to not put the series bar on the "see also" pages listed on the bar itself. Should I take the "Jessica's victims" bar off the "see also" pages listed? (Does that make any sense?) :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:52, 13 December 2006 (EST)
- With respect to the first question: I don't think it hurts to have links both in the bar and in the text necessarily (particularly on longer articles like these). I'd leave 'em. With respect to the Jessica and HRG templates: I think this may be the solution we're looking for. The quibble at the back of my brain isn't that the see also articles aren't important to the series, it's just that they're not really members of the series of articles, and thus probably shouldn't have the series bar. That's my take, at least, which is why I tried it that way with the Isaac bar. I'd say let people weigh in first, but my vote is for putting the bar only on the actual series of articles.--Hardvice (talk) 12:10, 13 December 2006 (EST)
- Okay, I'm leaving the ==See Also== sections in the articles.
- As for the series bars, I reverted everything back for HRG, including taking out the "See Also" section on the bar, and (of course) removing the bars from those articles. I agree - Persuasion, Mental manipulation and even Fathers and Daughters are not really part of the organization. Maybe we can put them back in as a see also - my main concern is that I want the GN:F&D to be more visible in the articles. Thoughts?
- For the Jessica bar, I left everything as is. I definitely like the "See Also" section on the bar. But I'm starting to agree - maybe those articles should only be referenced, and not have the bar on their actual articles. I'm fine with that.
- And maybe this discussion is ready to move off of Template talk:Isaac's artwork. hehe. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:11, 13 December 2006 (EST)

Exploding Man
Is this a title or a description? I'm assuming the latter.--Hardvice (talk) 16:37, 29 December 2006 (EST)
- I put Exploding Man in italics because I thought of it as a title. If it were a description, it would be uncapitalized ("Exploding man painting"), right? Guess it doesn't matter one way or the other, but we should make a decision so we have consistent formatting. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:18, 29 December 2006 (EST)
AFD
With template:artwork, this series bar seems a bit redundant. Anybody opposed to deleting it? (We could put prophecy and perhaps Linderman's archives and Deveaux Gallery as a See Also on the artwork navbar.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:36, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
