Dennis had poison emission or a variation of it. |
None |
+ Throughout his appearance in the graphic novel Viewpoints, his eyes were always black, the same color Maya's eyes were when she used her ability.
- Poison emission is a highly useful ability. If he had it, Sylar would have stolen it. Chances are he had a lesser ability, that Sylar had no use for like corrosive blood.
- + If this was so, he wouldn't have been a Level 5 detainee.
- - He might have had an ability Sylar already possessed, like telekinesis.
- • Noah was in Level 5, and he didn't have any ability.
- + While it initially sounds useful, Sylar would most likely not be able to find a good purpose for it. Poison emission kills instantly, and Sylar needs his victims alive in order for him to examine their brains.
- - Poison emission can take up to a minute to kill. More than enough time to weaken someone and steal their power through brain examination.
- + Incorrect. Even if it can take up to a minute to kill, victims feel the effects immediately and are rendered incapable of any action, other than begging.
- + There were two other dangerous specials in the room. Even with his powerful abilities, Sylar wouldn't be able to take an ability while being poisoned by Tina Ramierez and Dennis, while simultaneously being thrashed around the room by Michael Fitzgerald.
- + Exactly, poison emission is lethal and quick. Therefore, unless Sylar killed him instantly, Dennis would have been able to defeat him.
- - Sylar already had rapid cell regeneration, even if it affected him, it wouldn't last.
- • It isn't known if rapid cell regeneration provides immunity from poison emission. Even if it did, Sylar may not have been sure and didn't want to risk dying.
- • Maybe Dennis had enough control over his ability to choose who he infects and how bad.
- + Breathing a poisonous gas and having strength greater than any normal human being are also two useful abilities held by people in the room, but Sylar didn't seem interested in those.
- - Chlorine gas exudation appears to be a passive ability, it would be hard for Sylar to stay inconspicuous while exhaling a green gas. He can also use telekinesis to achieve effects similar to enhanced strength.
- + Rapid cell regeneration was also passive for most people, yet Sylar was able to stop it from working. He could do the same for Tina's ability.
- + Sylar has taken redundant abilities before, he took shattering even though he's used telekinesis to achieve the same effects.
- + As demonstrated by Maya countless times, poison emission is incredibly difficult to control. While Sylar usually has a greater understanding of any ability he takes, he's shown to sometimes have trouble with them initially. Given that, at the time, he was trying to fit in within the Company, it wouldn't look good for him if agents were dropping dead left and right.
- - Not only Maya never honed her ability, she also feared it. Sylar wouldn't fear having such an ability. Sylar's problem with newly acquired abilities happens mostly when he takes it empathically. He also got the hang of his hearing ability quite quick.
- + Quite quickly, but not immediately. Given that the Company already hated Sylar, even killing a few agents could be enough for them to permanently reject him.
- • Even if they hated him, having an agent able to subdue people quickly, and possibly selectively, it would be a great asset on bag and tag missions.
- + However, if he continued to kill every perpetretor he came across, the Company would most likely pull the plug.
