After Peter had arrived back in New York he didn't know where to go. He couldn't contact Isaac Mendez and Simone was of no use either. He felt the only course of action was to visit Mohinder Suresh who he'd gone to before. When he reached the apartment he heard Mohinder shout out for help, and so he burst in through the door. Peter was immediately confronted by a man. Peter was slammed against the wall and the man began to cut his head open, one of the last things Peter heard was a car pull up outside, before Sylar panicked and began to rip Peter's head from his body.

Peter died rapidly, all life leaving his head and body less than a minute after the beheading took place. His remains were taken by the the Company on orders of his mother, Angela Petrelli. Daniel Linderman attempted to heal Peter, however he was too far gone into death for this to work.
