The turtle is the companion and guide animal of Matt Parkman who he met in Botswana.
Character History
Welcome to Pinehearst
Matt carries the turtle into the living room at the Parkmans' apartment when he talks to Daphne about her investigation on Sylar. Daphne later comments that the turtle smells and needs a cage, but Matt says the turtle is his companion animal and its a two-person deal, so the turtle needs the same conditions.
