Welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
  • If you're not too familiar with editing Wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
  • If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
  • Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the Summary field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the Wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add ~~~~ or click the signature button.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.

Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Nice...

  • Hey, nice to have you here. :) There are a lot of articles but there's always stuff to do. Check out the current events page for instance. It has links to the checklists for the latest episode and graphic novel and those checklists can give you a good idea what's left to complete for each new episode. Plus there's always so much to do every Monday after the new episodes. There are also links to some general maintenance type stuff here. 2,000 articles require a lot of maintenance! :) Welcome again! • Welcome! A while ago, I would often check the Heroes wiki at Wikia to get some ideas and see where we are similar and different. Thanks for keeping up a great site, and I hope you find how you can be helpful here--there's lots to do! Welcome aboard! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:10, 25 October 2007 (EDT)
    • You guys definitely created a wiki that I wanted it to be. But even then I never imagined using the special templates or the maps. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:13, 25 October 2007 (EDT)

Character summaries

  • Great job on the character summaries, they're very helpful! Just wanted to offer a tip. The summaries should be written from an in-world perspective, so there should be no reference (either implied or explicit) to the audience. I notice some of the summaries begin like "It is known..." That's an audience perspective, so that'll have to be changed. Basically you want to write it from the character's perspective. So if it's something that was mentioned again in this episode, you can word it like, "Soandso reveals that..." If it's not mentioned in the episode you're writing the summary for then it usually has to be omitted or otherwise reworked so that it's written from the character's perspective. I'm sure someone will reformat it eventually, but I wanted to give you a heads up so you can format future ones with an in-world perspective right from the start. Keep up the good work! • I understand completely, since we use an in-universe perspective at Wookieepedia. I was unsure of how to word something that was 4 months in the past from the current present considering this week's episode, and I can go back and alter those entries I made. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:33, 12 November 2007 (EST)
    • Wonderful, thanks. Otherwise the entries look great and it's nice to see them so soon after the episode aired. Often they can take a couple days to get updated. (Admin 22:37, 12 November 2007 (EST))
      • Well, granted I do like to be the first to update. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 22:41, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Ahah

Thanks, but it's likely I'll never be in Louisville ever again. I only went there for my class trip last year. Yeh. But go ahead and leave those symbols for future generations of Heroes fans. xD And try to find the ones I've left there too. Do you plan on stopping at the glassworks or the science center? Thrashmeister 00:00, 13 November 2007 (EST)

  • I don't believe so. But I'll be in the Bardstown Road area. So you got away with it since you wouldn't be there afterward to be caught. :P -- Riffsyphon1024 00:43, 13 November 2007 (EST)
    • Btw, I've been to Chicago a few times, but I'm still very new to that gigantic sprawl of a city. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:44, 13 November 2007 (EST)

Image duplication

Hey there. I'm going through some of our images, and I noticed that you have an image of Mr. Bennet's eye healing on your user page. Would you be opposed to using this image instead? It's standard size, so I'd prefer to have that one in use and delete the one on your user page. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:17, 25 November 2007 (EST)
