Monologue

So ... do we treat Linderman's monologue like Mohinder's? I'd say yes.--Hardvice (talk) 22:54, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, that makes perfect sense. (And what a welcome change!) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:22, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
  • For continuity sake we shouldn't put it in for now, yet my gut feeling is that it should be noted somewhere. If they keep changing who does the monologue then maybe we should go back and add something to each of them (like "-- Mohinder" at then end). Oh, and hi to everyone -- it's been awhile. --Fcphantom 00:33, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Welcome back, Fcphantom.... There's nothing on there that says it's Mohinder--it's just a monologue that sets up the episode. I think it looks really great, personally. (Though maybe the blue blurb should be changed to a Union Jack flag?) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:37, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
      • This does set a distinctive new precedent. Apparently the producers are going with the coolest voice. Before this, they used Mohinder cuz Sendhil's voice is the most distinctive of the cast up until McDowell joined. It happened to make sense for purposes of writing at the time too, but it seems to be getting more and more difficult for them to keep Mohinder in the forefront of the storytelling. At the beginning he was the truth-seeker, and it looked like he was going to become as important to the story as Peter and Claire have become. This last episode, Mohinder's role was relegated to that of victim and then delivery boy. If they can make McDowell a regular in season two, then they'll use his voice from now on. I wouldn't count on that. Still, if I were Sendhil, I'd be calling my agent. -- ZachsMind 00:02, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

Attack of the quotes

Wow. We don't even have a summary yet and already this article has waaaaay too many quotes. Impressive!--Hardvice (talk) 23:07, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

  • We're going to need to write a policy, I'm afraid. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:22, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Wow, we're up to 10. I wonder if we can reach a score. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:08, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

Official title

We should refrain from any reference to this page until NBC announces that this is the official title of the episode, as done in the past. IMDB and TV Guide aren't very accurate with titles of future episodes.--Baldbobbo 22:15, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

  • ...but Entertainment Weekly is more so. I agree, we should avoid references, until the "official word" comes out. They can be commented out rather than deleted, though. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:51, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

Tick-Tock

I read that the episode after this is called Tick-tock and takes place 5 years in the future. --Xmuskrat 14:45, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

  • They've been pretty open about it taking place 5 years in the future (though I don't know about the entire episode set in the future...) Where did you read the name? And I'm curious if it's Tick Tock or Tick-tock. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:38, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
    • I'm not sure where I read it was the title, but this is pretty close to what I remember reading: Adrian Pasdar reveals: [The Jessica/Nikki and Nathan relationship] does take an interesting turn in Episode 20. "Tick-tock." That's the tease for episode 20. Source: TV Guide Online --Xmuskrat 15:51, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
      • I know that's not the article you say you read, but that article isn't exactly giving the title of the episode, just a teaser. I'm not sure that "Tick-tock" is the title. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:58, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
        • Since I can't find the article that I remember saying that. I may have implied it from this quote from the same article. "Pasdar: How about... [Thinking] "Tick-tock." That's the tease. [To manager] Read the top page of the [Episode] 20 script." Perhaps I assumed that the episode name was written on the top of each script page. --Xmuskrat 16:04, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
          • He was asking his manager to read the top of the script where the confidentiality statement is (the bit about them firing you for leaking details), not having him read the title.--Hardvice (talk) 17:22, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

If Irving Berlin wrote for Tim Kring

  • Peter - "I can fly like a partridge shot from a cartridge"
  • Sylar - "I levitate like a sparrow - straight as an arrow"
  • Peter - "I can do most anything!"
  • Sylar - "Can you bake a pie?"
  • Peter - "No, Neither can I."
  • Sylar - "Anything you can do, I can do better"
  • Peter - "I can do anything better than you"
  • Sylar - "No you can't"
  • Peter - "Yes I can"
  • Sylar - "No you can't"
  • Peter - "Yes I can"
  • Sylar - "No you can't"
  • Peter - "Yes I can - YES I CAN"

Apologies to Irving Berlin --AverageMan 13:47, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Wow, that was stupid...

Episode Synopsis

  • I will be away all week when this episode airs, so I won't be able to write a synopsis until the weekend. If anyone wants to jump in and write the synopsis, go ahead. Otherwise I'll write it after I watch it on Friday/Saturday. (Admin 10:45, 22 April 2007 (EDT))
    • I won't be able to write it until late Tuesday night at the very earliest. It'd be best if somebody could right it by Tuesday morning, though. ... Enjoy your trip, Admin! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:50, 22 April 2007 (EDT)
    • I started working at a job where my hours are 6-12pm, so I can maybe get some stuff done Tuesday morning, but it won't be much.--Bob 13:01, 22 April 2007 (EDT)

Sylar's Art

Very cubist. I love it. --Xmuskrat 08:29, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • IS that supposed to be Nathan in Sylar's picture, or someone else? -- ZachsMind
    • It's probably Nathan in that painting. -- Ice Vision
      • Given the very similar scene (a man in a suit folding his arms, a desk, a flag, similar windows and floor) and the fact that they showed the two pictures one after the other, I'd say it's pretty clear that's our Prez Petrelli. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:47, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

RIP Isaac

Let's all have a moment of silence for Isaac.... Heroe!(talk) 09:24, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

... --Piemanmoo 19:46, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

I'd prefer a moment of noise. I never liked Isaac much. First he was a whiner and a drug addict, then he became a murderer and a freak, then just just gave up and let Sylar have his brain. Wuss! EIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIY!!!! I'm glad we're rid of him. -- ZachsMind 00:07, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

  • While I kind of liked the character (and loved the art), I have to say I'm glad because now his name won't come up as much, meaning there will be less cause for people to misspell his name "Issac".--Hardvice (talk) 14:02, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

Classic Blunder

I was hoping not to see something like this, but Mohinder committed one of the classic comic-book-style blunders. He knows how dangerous Sylar is. We also know he was willing to kill Sylar. Still, with Sylar unconscious on the floor, Mohinder didn't have sense enough to finish him off while he was helpless. That would have been my first priority; trying to help Peter could wait until the threat of Sylar was permanently eliminated. The cliché... it burns! I was really expecting better from this writing team. --Ted C 10:01, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, That was really bad. My wife was yelling "You've knocked him out...Kill him! kill him!" at the TV Mountian Dew squirted out my nose I was laughing so hard.--ASEO 10:08, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Gee, I thought it was a silly choice of Mohinder's, but I really didn't think it constituted bad writing at all. This is the first episode Chuck Kim has written, and I think he did an amazing job. It was well-paced and exciting, yet had heart where it needed. To paraphrase CBR, it's a real testament when you don't even miss fan-fave Hiro because the rest of the episode is so good. As for Mohinder's choice, I'm not sure I could say I would have killed him, ashamed as I am to admit that. I would hope I could/would, but who knows what odd choices you make in the heat of the moment? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:59, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
      • It's probably because the rest of the episode is so good that that one little thing sticks out. Why would Mohinder leave someone as dangerous and evil as Sylar alive when he could have killed him so easily? If it weren't unexplained, it would probably be easier to take. --Ted C 15:08, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
        • Maybe he thought he was already dead. After all, each year dozens of seemingly invincible super-villains are needlessly killed by giant paper maps... (And yeah, why is nobody bothered by the fact that Sylar can shrug off bullets but is K.O.'d by a chalkboard ram from a scrawny human professor?)--Hardvice (talk) 15:19, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
          • Sylar seems to be pretty safe if he has some warning, but he can't telekinetically stop something he doesn't know is coming. Also, the Haitian seems to be able to damp his telekinesis. --Ted C 15:40, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
            • However, Sylar also possesses Enhanced Hearing, which should have alerted him to Mohinder's attack. --Paronine 16:10, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
            • Heck if Mohinder had started yelling, I could have seen that hurting Syler and giving Peter a better chance. They seem to have forgotten the better hearing thing--ASEO 16:15, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
              • I actually think Sylar used hearing to find Peter. He didn't just fling glass randomly, but in a direction, while he was invisible. --Bob 19:34, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
                • Sylar no longer seems bothered by the enhanced hearing. I had the same reaction that he should've heard Mohinder coming, though. But in Sylar's scenes where he's gotten up after being shot, he's always been aware of the person shooting at him, and he seems to have either fallen or flung himself back deliberately to dampen the blow. Afterwards, he's also always gotten outta there but quick. This suggests he doesn't actually form any sort of telekinetic "armor" around himself but actually slows down the approaching weapon/projectile itself. --Glue 02:26, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

Did you guys forget that Mohinder already tried killing Sylar in the scenario, and failed? Were I in Mohinder's shoes, I'd pick up Peter and get the hell outta dodge. Consider myself lucky I was escaping in one piece and regroup to conjure new tactics. -- ZachsMind

  • Well, you're just a coward.
    • That's not nice!

Nathan is Angela at the end?

Did anyone else notice how Peter suddenly took on the looks and mannerisms of his mother in the final scene to when comforting Claire? As well, when Claire says "Your mother said you wanted to talk to me?" He says "I did.... I <eh> ... I do". Perhaps she is another mimic, or she can control people? It seems to be very strongly implied that It's Angela somehow. --Jbreck 12:00, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • ...huh? I so didn't get that. -- ZachsMind
    • Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. -- Ice Vision
      • iawtc. From my point of view, Nathan's acting weird because he's conflicted. We know he's a big old softie with a crusty shell. He's just met his long-lost daughter, whom he presumed was dead until a couple days ago. He does want to get to know her ... and more importantly, he doesn't want to let her down ... but thanks to Peter's revelation that he might be able to survive the explosion, he's thinking about Linderman's plan. If he goes through with it, he doesn't want Claire there (since she might not heal) and definitely doesn't want Angela there (since she definitely won't heal), and he also doesn't want something else (Claire) to derail the election. So he wants Claire to stay, but he believes she needs to go. If he's acting like his mother, it's because she's his example for putting on a stiff upper lip and seeming heartless when you need to. I actually thought it was a beautiful scene, very well played by both actors. I really hope they don't cheapen it by making it a big ol' magic trick.--Hardvice (talk) 13:47, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
        • Cool. Good points, all. However, I'm still willing to put a 20 spot on something very fishy going on here ;-) I guess we will know in a couple of weeks! --Jbreck 11:35, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

Tracking System

According to Mr. Bennet, the Company's tracking system is located in New York. It probably should have a page. --Ted C 13:56, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Not just yet. We don't know enough about it. Heroe!(talk) 17:32, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Linderman Group & The Company

So Linderman funds the Company and the Company does work for Linderman. I don't think we should merge the two, but we should probably add a link to each on Template:HRG and Template:Linderman. Anybody else have a take on that? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:47, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • That, and categorize them, if applicable.

Audio Desync?

The scene where Peter is standing in front of the fireplace telling Nathan that Claire is the cheerleader he saved in Texas, the audio appears to desync (from the angle through the doorway when Angela is walking up to the room -- about 29minutes into the ep). What's strange is that it appears synced in the shot before the cut and again when it cuts back. As far as I can tell, Milo's lips seem to be saying the same lines, so thinking this is just an odd cutting error? -- Glue 23:10, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

  • I noticed it too. Odd huh. -- bugsy2126 2:23, 27 April 2007 (AEST)

Jessica's Tattoo

I was just rewatching this episode during the Sci-fi Channel's Heroes marathon, and I noticed something. When Jessica goes to see Linderman about him borrowing Micah, she turns and walks away from him. Wearing a backless top, her shoulder is revealed . . . and her trademark tattoo of the Symbol is missing. Anyone else notice this or know what it means? -- Paronine 19:39, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

  • You sure it was her right shoulder? I saw it on the iTunes version.--Bob 19:43, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Ah, you're right. I rewatched it on NBC Rewind, and her hair was just covering it. D'oh! -- Paronine 19:53, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
  • It very well may be missing, though I haven't seen the episode for a few weeks now. For the last, oh, 10 episodes or so, Jessica and Niki are really melding into one person, and it's less distinct when one takes over the other. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:44, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

Mohinder Wasn't Impaled?

Am I the only one who thought that Mohinder was bleeding to death from the end of the last ep because he was impaled through the stomach by some long metal object while on the ceiling? I thought he was in his death throes, and hence his being in shock. Then in this ep when he drops back to the floor, suddenly he's okay enough to do a running shove of the board to knock Sylar out and carry Peter away. --Glue 04:52, 31 May 2007 (EDT)

  • We only saw him bleeding from his mouth. Seems like Sylar just knocked him around a bit before TKing him to the ceiling.--Leshia 05:17, 31 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Right, I can see how you'd think he was impaled...but it was Sylar telekinetically holding the dude up on the ceiling (and simultaneously holding Peter up against a wall--what a feat!) When Sylar was knocked out, Mohinder fell because Sylar momentarily lost control of his power. The blood was most likely from beating that occured offscreen. Plus it just made for a cool moment when blood dripped onto Peter's face. RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:54, 31 May 2007 (EDT)
      • I remember momentarily seeing on camera a long thin object seemingly impaling Mohinder through the stomach.
I think there was a better shot where it was more obvious, just before this one and just after Mohinder rasps out, "Sylar..". I'll try looking for it some time. --Glue 17:51, 31 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Alright, looking at it again, it seems it was just the camera filming the corner of his shirt at a funny angle each time. >_< --Glue 22:03, 31 May 2007 (EDT)

Ending

I never really understood the whole Jessica/Candace thing in this episode. Candace pretends to be Jessica until Linderman leaves, but then changes back and meets Jessica in her car. Until I saw the next episode, I thought Candace and Jessica were working together to keep Micah safe, but now I just saw 'what the heck'? In the next one, Candace has never left Micah's side, but in this one she stands there and watches him drive away in Linderman's car?

  • There's a lot of in between stuff that we don't see. Micah gets in the car and Candice (as Jessica) waits in front of the house. From there, I suspect she gets in a car and drives to a meeting place, wherever that may be (the Corinithian, an airport, NYC, etc.) The next time we pick up the story, Candice (as Jessica) is back in New York with Micah. Does that scenario help? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:09, 24 January 2008 (EST)

EMP

I wonder how wais it possible for Elle's electric dischard to shut down the Level 5 power grid, but Ted's EMP didn't affect it at all... I think the writers didn't think through this one, or they were counting on our forgetful minds --Barbazul 13:09, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

  • When Ted surged, he was in The Company's facility in Odessa, TX. The Level 5 cells are in The Company's Hartsdale, NY facility. (Admin 13:15, 7 October 2008 (EDT))
    • I stand corrected --Barbazul 20:44, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
