About

Genesis

In his late father's apartment in Chennai, India, Mohinder discovers Mr. Bennet's horn-rimmed glasses sitting on a table. While Bennet is in Mohinder's taxi, his face is cloaked in shadow, but his glasses are very clear.

One Giant Leap

Mohinder tells Eden that the man with the horn-rimmed glasses chase him around the world, looking for the list.

Hiros

While taking Nathan Petrelli captive, Noah is kicked in the face, resulting in a crack in his glasses as seen when he talks to Brody Mitchum.

Better Halves

While talking to Eden on the phone, Noah picks up the pair of glasses that were cracked during his altercation with Nathan Petrelli and studies them.

Nothing to Hide

Nathan explains to Peter that he needs to be careful. He tells him about his encounter with a man with horn-rimmed glass who "did all the talking" and a "spooky euro-dude".

Seven Minutes to Midnight

While talking to Isaac Mendez, Noah briefly takes off his glasses before speaking more frankly to Isaac and puts them back on as he starts to explain about a tragedy 14 years before that led to him getting Claire as his daughter.

Six Months Ago

After Mr. Bennet removes the tape from Eden's mouth, she spits on his glasses. Mr. Bennet then takes off his glasses to clean them.

Company Man

In 2003, Mr. Bennet needs glasses. With Claire's advice, he rejects a pair of "grandpa" glasses and "grandma" glasses. Claire finally chooses a pair of horn-rimmed glasses for her father. When he asks how he looks in the new pair, she tells him he looks like "my dad".

Five Years Gone

Five years into the future, Mr. Bennet has changed his horn-rimmed glasses for wire rims.

Kindred

West recalls a man in horn-rimmed glasses that came out of some bushes and gave him a mark.

Mohinder sends Noah a photograph of the last painting in the series of eight. The painting depicts Noah's death by a bullet wound which breaks the left lens of his horn-rimmed glasses.

The Line

Noah finds the series of eight and looks at all the paintings, including the one depicting him dead with his broken glasses.

Out of Time

Claire asks West if his mark hurts and he tells her no, that its just a reminder of his abduction by the man in the horn-rimmed glasses. Claire nearly tells West the truth that the man is her father, but changes her mind at the last moment. As Claire gets them popsicles, West spots Noah entering the house and his distinctive glasses and realizes that its the same man who abducted him. As West tries to drag Claire away, believing Noah to be after them, Claire finally tells him that the man with the horn-rimmed glasses is her father. Disgusted and believing that Claire set him up, West flies away.

After finding the series of eight, Noah tries to make sense of the ones leading up to his death and later stares at a picture of the one with his dead body and broken glasses.

Cautionary Tales

Noah is shot through the left eye by Mohinder Suresh and killed. The shot shatters his glasses lens and splatters it with blood. When Noah is later resurrected, he no longer has his shattered glasses.

Truth & Consequences

After his resurrection, Noah remains without his glasses.

Powerless

When Elle and Bob visit Noah he has donned a new pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

Graphic Novel:Special

The day after he was abducted, West says that he doesn't remember anything but "that man, those horn rimmed glasses."

Graphic Novel:Blindsided

After being temporarily blinded by Howard Grigsby, Mr. Bennet learns his vision is permanently impaired and has his daughter pick out his first pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

The Eclipse, Part 2

Noah loses his glasses while fighting Sylar and leaves them at the scene after he murders Sylar. He replaces them with a new pair later.

After being shot out of his car that was frozen by Tracy, Noah loses his glasses.

Jump, Push, Fall

Edgar throws a knife, which almost hits Noah's glasses.

Brave New World

As Ted Barnes, Noah no longer possesses his glasses. When he meets with Rene, Rene returns his glasses to him and states that Noah had left the glasses with him the last time they had met. Noah puts his glasses back on and comments he didn't know what he was missing before Rene starts strangling him.

June 13th, Part One

At the Odessa Unity Summit, the Noah of 2014 loses his glasses when Erica Kravid has him restrained by guards. Putting Noah's glasses back on, Erica promises to tell Claire that Noah has "been detained" when she sees her.

11:53 to Odessa

As a massive storm blows a car towards him, Noah suddenly disappears. All Malina finds afterwards are his cracked glasses lying on the ground.

Send in the Clones

Malina examines Noah's glasses as she wonders about his disappearance.

Project Reborn

Noah is briefly seen in his glasses as a car is flung towards him by a storm but loses them when Tommy Clark teleports him to safety.

Notes

  • When asked if there is any real significance to Mr. Bennet's glasses, Tim Kring responded, "Because his character had very few lines in the pilot, and needed to be recognizable, we gave him a distinct pair of glasses. I also liked that they had a distinct early days of the CIA look to them. Very 'Company Man'."
  • Mr. Bennet's glasses are Demi-Amber/Gold Universal Univis Country Squire 2 glasses. The model of glasses is clearly visible along the inside of the earpiece in the Heroes prop display at San Diego Comic-Con 2007.

Trivia

  • According to Greg Beeman's blog, the over-the-shoulder point-of-view shots through Mr. Bennet's glasses started as "just a fun shot that occurred in the pilot and we try to have fun within the episodes. The directors try to out 'HRG' each other."
  • According to the NBC Auction page, the glasses are a "Universal brand glasses". Its model is a Country Squire and is "tortoise shell with gold accents".
