Jamal was a friend of Farah's during her stay in New York City.
Character History
In November 2001, Jamal finds Farah at their college and tells her that he was getting worried because nobody had seen her in weeks. They walk out onto the street and Jamal consoles Farah about the recent death of her parents. Suddenly, Jamal sees two men savagely beating Youssef, a Muslim friend of Farah's, because of what a group of Muslims did on 9/11. Farah tells Jamal to run to the police, so he does so. When he catches up to Farah again, she tells him that she is fine despite the bodies and blood, and they share a hug.
One week later, Jamal and Farah attend an internship fair at their college. Jamal is filled with excitement upon seeing a Renautas table, exclaiming that their desktop software is the best on the market, and goes to talk to their representative.
