About
Cautionary Tales
After Kaito's murder, a funeral is held at Aoyama Cemetery in remembrance of him. An old monk calls Hiro up to eulogize his late father, but Hiro is unwilling to let him go, and walks away to a nearby field. Ando tells Hiro to go back to honor his father, but Hiro teleports away in hope of changing history. After returning, Hiro is again called up to eulogize his father. Hiro says that his father is not truly dead as long as he lives in Hiro's heart and the lessons Kaito taught. Hiro takes a piece of cloth and wipes the name written in red ink on the memorial stone.
Graphic Novel:Past Experience
Kimiko remembers attending Kaito's funeral with Hiro. She recalls her sadness, mingled with her belief that her father was happy now that he was standing with his hero. After the ceremony, Kin Egami talks about work with Kimiko.
Memorable Quotes
"I refuse to eulogize my father. To eulogize him is to admit he is gone. My father is not dead... Kaito Nakamura taught me right from wrong. What it means to be a hero... So long as the lessons live on through me... he will never die. My father taught me to understand that... certain things are in God's hands. But for everything else... God has given us the gift of choice. My father gave me the tools to fight the battles ahead. Every hand I extend in kindness is his hand. And every blow that I strike for justice is his fist. So long as the lessons he taught me stay with me. And so long as he lives on in my heart. Then my father is never truly dead."
