She is struck by cerebral palsy, and her mother gets cancer. Her mom dies, and she runs off on her crutches into the fields during the funeral, which is taking place during a eclipse. Daphne falls, but sees her mother, who tells her that she is special, and can do whatever she wants. She stands, and runs very fast, while a man watches from the house.
