Separate Page

Is a separate page for the assignment tracker cool with everybody? I don't really think it's necessary, but I'm not opposed to it. If it stays, it needs some editing, and so does primatechpaper.com. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:26, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

  • I've always thought that the Assignment Tracker needed its own page and we should not include all the information on the primatechpaper.com page (maybe just a link to this new page). This Assignment Tracker page should also include the Tracker 1.0, in my opinion. However, I know that data transfer and clean up is a lot of work, but I would like to see the primatechpaper.com website cleaned up and I think (possibly) moving the Assignment Tracker information to its own page is a good step in that direction.     • I agree with a separate page for it. It doesn't look like the Company will be getting shutdown anytime soon, so the tracker looks to be getting larger and larger. Thus, a separate page would help with readability.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:04, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

Unique Ability

Is this section of each profile new? I haven't noticed it before, it puts the ability in huge letters. It looks like HW has influenced a power name, with Sylar's "Intuitive Aptitude."

If it's not new, ignore this post. The German

Magnetism

It looks like he may be an upcoming character for a graphic novel, but there's not really much information about him in his profile. Just in case the profile disappears, I'm listing what's there. According to the profile, the German is a man born in Munich, Germany, 180 lbs., fair and medium build, 6'0 ft tall with Blonde hair, Caucasian, and was last seen in New York, NY. Regarding his ability, its diagram is to the right. It's called "magnetism" and defined as the "manipulation of ferrous objects and materials." Pretty much everything else: password, personal history and psych profile are missing so I've listed the ability as unconfirmed for now.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:01, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

    • Cause of the lack of password, my original thought was that evs had hacked in and disabled the security. Though possible, I doubt that a non-Heroes-related person cracked the tracker website and added it. The presence of an ability diagram (and other diagrams we don't normally document) tends to suggest otherwise. Imho, the entry was probably just added recently without remembering to initially add the password security to it. That was later corrected, but we still have access via the direct link. The new map.

Should the map get it's own page, or a larger section? You have the option to turn off "Tips" which shows just Agent Assignments and Verified Tips. why can't I log in?

When I tried to enter the Assignment Tracker 2.0 for the first and then entered Username: bennet, Password: claire. I get "You are cleared to acces marked files only." "Select marked link on the left to review".

But when I then go to one of the marked files like _A012 I get the log in screen again!

How do we know...?

On the AT page at this site is says that other files are unaccessible (Peter's, Merediths, etc.) and it says what their profiles are even though there are no passwords for them. How do we know what their profiles are? For instance, where does it say on Flint's tracker page that Meredith's is C018?   • Ok, the password will start with "EB" then have either 2 or 3 lowercase letters, then two digits, then either 2 or 3 lowercase letters.   • Normally I'd agree, but they specificaly asked us to try and hack this one. We could probably do it, too. Every time evsdropr posted a new puzzle it was solved pretty quickly.     • I know I asked somebody awhile ago (was it Ollie Grigsby? Joe Tolerico? I forget who.) what all the "other" letters and numbers in the passwords meant.       • At one point I tried to see if there was a pattern in the passwords but never came up with anything (both Richard Drucker's (unless it's in roman numerals) and Jesse Murphy's (which has 3 numbers) passwords break the aforementioned pattern). I'm not sure it's random though. Richard Drucker's is the same as Hana's, except it replaces 11 with ii.       • If one of us managed to write a script that tried all possible combinations automaticaly, then several of us could run it starting at different intervals until we reached the code. Also, for Flint's tracker they asked if we could hack it but they gave us the password anyway (the same applied for Meredith's if I recall).         • Thanks, Piemanmoo, but that honor doesn't belong solely to me. There have been many other contributors, and former administrator Hardvice ranks high among them in my mind. That said, there are a lot of potential passwords and I don't think I have equipment sufficient for writing and executing a program to try them all atm. It takes a long time on fast computers and mine is rather slow. Also, I really don't like encouraging people to learn how to crack passwords; but if someone wants to try, check out Hydra as that's a good program for brute force testing, which is what is needed in this case. It is normally used by security consultants to test system vulnerability to hacking. Most systems defeat this form of hacking by blocking out users for a specified amount of time after a certain amount of failed password tries; whether or not the AT2.0 has this protection, I'm not sure.

W vs F

I'm wondering who writes the Assignment Trackers, because on Meredith's under 'gender' it has a 'W' (presumably for woman) instead of an 'F' for female. On Donna's and Hana's it has an 'F'. Do you think this will be somethign they'll correct (I know it's minor but it seems less official). I also hope they update the old files (namely Sylar's) with new information. Clearly Sylar's ability has evolved, so they should put that in his tracker. -- FlamingTomDude

Files we haven't got

  • Yeah I've found myself wondering if they'll release those trackers. I can see them releasing Peter's or Maury's (Maury was a Level 5 escapee and a founder, Peter was in Company custody for four months). Charlie just seems so insignificent now, though. If they do decide to drop one, it should be hers. Neuenburg's doesn't even work anymore anyway, so technically anyone who only first accessed the tracker now in the present wouldn't know about Charlie's. Samedi's Password Ideas?

    • Agreed. Brute force is probably too tough to accompish. I would suggest looking for patterns or similarities in the passwords, in case they aren't random. I've looked a little, but can only find curiosities (eg - Hana and Richard have very similar passwords, and powers, though Echo and Jesse don't; Parkman's password contains 'gg' which could stand for 'Greg Grunberg,' but tyhat doesn't apply to most of the others, etc). --Stevehim 12:21, 6 December 2008 (EST)
    • Actually I think a random number generator program would be a good idea as the passwords always seem to follow the pattern of 2 capital letters (the Persons initials), 3lowercase letter, 2 numbers, and one more lowercase letter.       • If you're trying to access Matt Neuenberg's file, don't bother. That one doesn't work for some reason. But all other files should. A0's.

  • Do you mean listed on this page, or listed on the actual AT2.0 page? Drucker's profile has been listed on this page ever since the profile was released. (In fact, it was not too many months after Drucker's profile was released that we changed this page from a redirect to an article dedicated to the AT profiles.) Maury's profile number has also been listed on this page pretty much ever since Matt's profile was released. See an early version of the page from June. C021 - who wants to start guessing?

Unless they change C007 and C016 to other profiles, C021 is the last one. My guess is that it will be Daphne, or Santiago or another character we are starting to learn more about (Daphne seems like a good bet to me) --FlamingTomDude 05:10, 8 December 2008 (EST)

  • Arthur and Kaito likely have A0 trackers. Daphne seems too recent to have an AT, and Bennet tried to keep all records of Claire away from the Company, though it's very likely he wasn't successful there.     • I dunno, haven't they known about Claire since Company Man? And they probably would've had one on her since she was a baby anyway, seeing as they were keeping an eye on her since then.

      • I don't really know why Daphne is too recent. They gave us Donna Dunlap's in the novel we met her, or sometime thereafter but I know it was when we first learned about her. I think the Haitian will remain as he is because the reception with whole 'mysterious' thing has been excellent with fans. We don't even really know where the Haitian's loyalties lie and he's been that way since season 1. They may just completely ignore C021 for a while and focus on A0 (Maury, Arthur and Kaito seem like good candidates for this), or they'll disappoint us with a character from a novel that we really don't need to know about. --FlamingTomDude 20:22, 8 December 2008 (EST)

Week 11 should feature Part 2 of Caged Bird and if they follow the kind of trends they've been doing before, the new profile should be connected to the last week's graphic novel, which would mean Arthur's may be next week's. Enhanced Strength vs. Super Strength

  • Does anyone see a problem with Niki and Knox's power being the same seeing as if they were the same power wouldn't Knox's AT list Niki as be a person with the same power.--Iceman 12:13, 8 December 2008 (EST)
    • Many of us disagreed with grouping them in the first place, but that's an excellent point. It either means they don't have the same ability (according to the Company), or that the assignment trackers are not that reliable, as they've known about Niki/Jessica for some time now (before we were ever even introduced to Knox, in fact). Even if we say that Knox's A.T. was created before they knew about Niki/Jessica, it wasn't updated, further calling into question how current the A.T.'s are. --Stevehim 13:33, 8 December 2008 (EST)
      • Just a moment ago I brought up the "Heroes Versus" app. that is on MySpace on the ability talk page. The app. is NBC run and it allows for people to create versus polls between characters, abilities, etc that come with video files from the show. Well under abilities it listed both Enhance Strength as being Knox's and Super Strength as being Niki's.     • It's the wording that makes a difference. Niki doesn't need to do anything

to access her ability. Yes, she didn't know about it for a while because of her split personality disorder, but it was still accessible without any prerequisites. However, Knox's strength is enhance when he's around fear. Let's take another ability for example. Daphane's ability is like Niki's, because she can access it anytime thus calling it being super follow by whatever.   • It's a given that the Company knows about her and her ability. Taking this into account why do we have them as having the same power. What is the problem with Niki having super strength because she is super strong all the time as far as we know and Knox has enhanced strength because he "enhances" his strength with fear. Just use password?

Am I the only one who can access any file just using the password. I mean, as long as I click on a marked file, no matter what the number of the file, whatever password I put in it comes up that person's file, e.g. if I clicked C023 (Elle's Profile), but put in Flint's password, I get Flint's file. The New Company!

So the current version of the AT was limited for Bennet because he wasn't top dog in the company. Most of the files were passed to building 26 in volume four as said by Bennet when Danko asks about Nathan and flight. NBC's Site Says...

"Keeping tabs: Have you explored the Assignment Tracker profiles for the founders of The Company?"

Since their site has, in the past, been updated before the GNs or Hiro's blog I'm assuming this is something that will come to be.

For folks who are adding profile urls to the profile id numbers...

Just in case you didn't notice - sure, you can include the url for the profile that you notice when you first access it, but it's been understood since the middle of '08 that those urls must now be generated based on some dynamic and variable property, such as the local time it was accessed or something. And then, the urls also seem to be time-sensitive, so after some span of time, they are not active anymore. So, if someone wanted to remove the urls associated with the profile id's, that would probably be more appropriate. Folks figured that it was only a matter of time until the way the urls had been generated would be changed, after the key to figuring out the md5 hash was discovered. Just fyi... 'ROESian
