Rachel finds that her living room now looks like a bachelorette pad, thanks to Leona. She recalls her childhood and the time she spent with Leona as a child. The player can now choose what Rachel does.

Rachel enters Leona's room and marvels at the sophistication of the room. She wonders what's in the file cabinets, and what information is contained in the computer on the desk. The player can now have Rachel examine the computer, or leave the room.

Rachel finds a bunch of emails in Leona's inbox. She scans a few names: Mykah, Eric Lee, Tuck...
Rachel steps back, afraid that Leona's taping her so that she can accuse her of snooping. Rachel decides to return to the living room. (jump back to Option 1B)

Option 1B.3 (Go to Tim's house)

Rachel heads over to Tim's house, where Tim greets her sheepishly. The player has a choice of what Rachel does now.
Option 1B.3A: Ask if Tim has seen Leona...

Rachel asks if Tim has seen Leona, and Tim replies that he thinks that Leona is at Mable's Diner. He then asks if Rachel wants anything else, but Rachel just says "take care" and returns to her house. (jump back to Option 1B)

Option 1B.3B: Talk to Tim about what happened in the morning...

Tim apologizes about the incident, but Rachel says that there's no need to apologize. Tim then turns red with embarrassment. The player can now have Rachel ask Tim if he's seen Leona (jump to Option 1B.3A) or, if Rachel had brought Tim something from the police station, follow Option 1B.3C.

Option 1B.3C: If Rachel has brought Tim something from the police station...

Rachel asks Tim if he could help look at the camera that Rachel found in her inbox. Tim agrees, and they look it over. Tim comments on the camera's griminess, and begins to get it working. Rachel soon sees photos of the local park, as well as a photos of guns and blood and violence. She then finds a photo of a group of teenagers engaging in hand-to-hand combat, as well as a photo of someone using powers. Shocked, she thanks Tim and, cradling the camera, returns home. Rachel drives into town and arrives at Main Street.
The player gets to choose where Rachel will go from Main Street. They can decide whether Rachel heads for the park, the police station, Rachel's home, Mable's Diner, Smokey's Bar, or Lyneboro School.
Option 1B.4A (Park)

Rachel heads to the park, where she notices a scruffy-looking guy. She thinks to herself that he might be a drifter. Rachel then sees a playground to the west and a picnic area to the east. The player can choose where Rachel goes.
Option 1B.4A.1: Rachel heads towards the drifter...

...and when she gets close to him, he looks at her, alert. He has a long a scraggly beard, but sharp blue eyes. Rachel thinks that the locals probably find him freaky. The player can have Rachel leave the guy alone, or call him by name.

Rachel leaves the drifter alone and returns to the park's entrance. (jump back to Option 1B.4A)

Rachel doesn't know the guy's name, and the two of them stare at each other for a second without speaking. Then, Rachel leaves and heads back to the park's entrance. (jump back to Option 1B.4A)

Option 1B.4A.2: Rachel heads west, to the playground...

At the playground, Rachel sees a swing set, slide, and a giant sandbox, but no kids. Instead, a group of local teenagers hang out here, and they look at Rachel challengingly.
Option 1B.4A.2B: If Rachel found something in a locker earlier...

Based on the knowledge she gained from the piece of paper she had found at the Lyneboro School, Rachel confronts the teenagers that are hanging out. Rachel warns them that what they're doing is dangerous and that what they're doing is going to get hurt. One of the kids draw a gun, and say that it won't be them who are getting hurt. The others accost the kid with the gun for showing Rachel the weapon. Rachel realizes that the kids are planning to kill whoever shows up tonight, but before she can get them to say more, they have all disappeared into the forest. Rachel can now choose to return to the park entrance (jump back to Option 1B.4A) or return to Main Street (jump back to Option 1B.4).

Option 1B.4A.3: Rachel heads east, to the picnic grounds...

Rachel sees trees and picnic tables, but notes that nothing much is happening here right now.
Option 1B.4A.3A: If Rachel has to return here tonight...

At night time, Rachel returns here in order to interrupt the meet between the local teenagers and a local gang. She hides behind a dumpster and waits. Just before 9 p.m., two SUVs park on the street. A crowd of city-dressed guys hop out. They talk in low voices as they hop the fence and head in Rachel's direction. She confronts them, but they tell her to get lost.
However, having previously checked out some photos, Rachel warns them that they will die at the hands of the gang. The city kids detect that Rachel knows something, and shuffle back to their cars, and drive away. However, Rachel discovers that Cooper is part of the kids, and he doesn't leave. Cooper says that they'll be back, and Rachel tries to stop him from bringing his group back. Cooper, however, makes an irrelevant comment, which confuses Rachel. When Rachel asks what he meant, Cooper is already gone.
The next morning, Rachel discovers a note from Leona, asking her to meet her for breakfast. However, Rachel notices that it's an ambush: Tim is there instead, nervously planning to ask Rachel out on a date. Rachel notices Leona and Marc watching from behind. Tim shyly backs off, but Marc concentrates and increases Tim's self-confidence. Rachel decides that going out with Tim can't hurt, and asks him on the date.
Later, Rachel, Marc, and Leona meet at Mable's Diner. Rachel reveals that she asked Tim to go skydiving, and it turns out that Tim's scared of heights. Marc tries to jump on this opportunity, by saying that he is an avid fan of skydiving. However, Rachel rejects him. Leona says that they need to focus on Marc's mission: his cousin Amber is missing, and Rachel must find her.

Option 1B.4B (Police station)

Rachel heads to the police station, where she sees Kelly the receptionist, who reminds her to check her inbox. Rachel also notes that Chief Parker's office is around the corner.
The player then has a choice of what to do next.

Rachel goes into the Chief's office and Chief Parker greets her gruffly. Rachel asks what's he working on, and the Chief dismisses the question. However, Rachel knows that there's a top-secret project that the Chief has been working on lately.

She also notices a notepad with a scrawled address: 26877 Century Drive, which sounds familiar. She also sees a map on the table with the words "New Arrivals" scrawled on the top.
The player can now go back (jump back to Option 1B.4B.1), leave the office (jump to Option 1B.4B.1D), or leave the police station (jump to Option 1B.4B.1E).

...and finds two items inside: a key ring with a dozen keys, and a digital camera with dead batteries. Both these things have been in the inbox for a while. There is also some kind of custom-filtered search from the Connecticut state police. The player can have Rachel choose to examine any of these objects, or head over to the Chief's office (jump to Option 1B.4B.1) or leave the police station (jump back to Option 1B.4).

Rachel flips through the keys again. Some are numbered and official-looking, but mostly, it looks like a typical keychain. Rachel then directs her attention back to her inbox. (jump back to Option 1B.4A.2)

Rachel notes that the camera is battered and dirty, but the lens is high-tech, long-range, and low-light capable. She wonders if someone with good technical knowledge could look into it further. Rachel then directs her attention back to her inbox. (jump back to Option 1B.4A.2)

Rachel reads the report, which lists a bunch of newspaper headlines. The headlines talk about incidents that sound like the doings of evolved humans. After reading the report, Chief Parker shows up and grabs the report out of Rachel's hands. He claims ownership of it and says that it must have been misdirected to Rachel's inbox. He then leaves without a word, leaving Rachel and Kelly puzzled. Rachel then directs her attention back to her inbox. (jump back to Option 1B.4A.2)

Rachel enters the diner and greets the cook, Mable. Mable waves a spatula at Rachel in response. A waitress greets Rachel, and Rachel notices that it's her mother, Leona. The player has a choice of what to do next.

Rachel and Leona go to a corner of the diner to talk, and Leona asks Rachel what's up. Rachel sees Marc at a table, reading.
Option 1B.4D.1A: "So what's the story with Marc?"...

Rachel asks Leona what Marc is doing in Lyneboro, and Leona says that Marc's cousin, Amber, has gone missing, and he's looking for her. Rachel tells Leona that she shouldn't be doing secret stuff like this anymore, and Leona promises that it's just a one-time thing. The player can now talk with Leona about something else (jump back to Option 1B.4D.1) or leave the diner (jump to Option 1B.4D.1D).

Option 1B.4D.1B: "Why are you working here?"...

Rachel asks Leona why she's working at the diner, and Leona says that it's to pay her half of the rent. Rachel says that as a former shipping company executive and human smuggler, Leona shouldn't be working at a diner to pay rent. Leona retorts that Rachel isn't exactly the "good girl" either -- she's an ex-soldier and spy. They laugh it out, but Leona warns Rachel not to let her guard down in Lyneboro, as nothing is as it seems. The player can now talk with Leona about something else (jump back to Option 1B.4D.1) or leave the diner (jump to Option 1B.4D.1D).

Option 1B.4D.1C: "Anything going on in town today?"...

Rachel asks Leona if there's anything going on around town, and Leona says that she doesn't know. Rachel presses her, and Leona is just about to say the same thing again when she stops, seeing Kelly, the receptionist at the police station, at the counter. Kelly then looks over and makes eye contact with Leona, who immediately avoids her glare. Rachel notices this and asks what it was all about. Leona says that Kelly is an evil witch, and warns Rachel to keep away from her. The player can now talk with Leona about something else (jump back to Option 1B.4D.1) or leave the diner (jump to Option 1B.4D.1D).

Option 1B.4E (Bar)

Rachel enters the bar, and notes that the bar has a distinct sleepy tavern feel during the day, with its dark exposed beams and massive hardwood bar. But the dance floor and younger lunch crowd suggest that the place attracts a louder crowd at night. The bartender nods to Rachel as she crosses to him, and the player can choose what Rachel does.
Option 1B.4E.1 (Ask if Smokey is around)

Rachel finds Smokey hunched over a table and drunk. Smokey tells Rachel to leave, and says that he's not happy with the way the Toby situation turned out last week. Rachel tries to explain herself, but Smokey is having none of it. Rachel has no choice but to leave the back room (jump back to Option 1B.4E) or to leave the bar (jump to Option 1B.4E.2).

Option 1B.4F (School)

Rachel arrives at the local school, which is a tidy, three-story brick building with shortcut-scarred green lawns and a half-empty parking lot. Three towns share the facility, and even now, the place is crawling with summer students and sports camp attendees. The player is then asked a question: is Rachel here about a set of keys?
Option 1B.4F.1: If so...

Rachel enters the school building, and decides to talk to the people around the school about the set of keys she has. The player can choose for Rachel to talk to the students, talk to the administration, or abandon the lead altogether.
Option 1B.4F.1A (Talk to the students)

Rachel interrupts a group of students who are hanging out. She asks them if they know anything about the keys, but the students ignore her. However, one girl gets a look at the keys and tells Rachel that they're locker keys. Rachel then finds the school lockers, and locates the locker that corresponds with the key. Inside the locker, she finds a single sheet of paper, which reads "Ceasefire offer accepted. Meet 9pm to discuss terms. East end of your town park. No weapons." Rachel can now talk to the administration if she wants (jump to Option 1B.4F.1B), or leave the school (jump to Option 1B.4F.1C).

Rachel talks to Assistant Principal Collins, who examines the locker keys, and then checks for the keys in the school database. She says that the database returns no match, and that the keys don't exist. Rachel doesn't believe it, and insists that someone must have manipulated the database. Assistant Principal Collins scoffs at this, saying that Rachel's been watching too much TV. The player can now have Rachel talk to the students (jump to Option 1B.4F.1A), or leave the school (jump to Option 1B.4F.1C).
