Random trivia

G4 just called me and they want me to send them a bunch of random trivia that will air on Saturday between episodes. If you have any good ideas in the next half hour or so, let me know. Thanks, Miami! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:04, 30 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Looks like you got that covered. I was afk when you left the message here, but I can help out with more trivia for next week. Should I add more just in case?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:07, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
    • That's cool--I was just checking over RCs when I got the call, and I saw that you were either online or had just been online, so I thought I'd give it a shot to recruit you....I'm not sure if it's going to be an every week thing, or just during the marathon. If you have anything off the top of your head, go ahead and add it, but do it in a new section so I know which pieces have been sent and which haven't. But don't go to any trouble researching or anything like that until I'm sure I'll need it again. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:15, 30 October 2007 (EDT)

Original Easter Egg

Just out of curiosity, how did you get a copy of the original Easter Egg? I've been asking around quite a bit about it, and nobody has it! Well done on grabbing it right away, if that's what you did. You're about the only person I've come across that has it. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:53, 30 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Mostly it was luck. I just happened to have not clicked on the new one yet when I saw someone post that the image had changed. Thus, I was able to grab it from my cache by changing into "work offline" mode and saving it, since I was up this morning when the novel was released.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:12, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
  • I saved a copy because it was odd and I figured they might fix it. -Lөvөl 15:00, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

Check the Editing tab in Special:Preferences. -Lөvөl 15:00, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks, Level. Looks like when switching from one skin to another, I reset my preferences by mistake.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:30, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

my sig

you recomended that I needed to alter my sig here. I dont know how. might you do that for me at this page? thanks!--SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:21, 4 November 2007 (EST)

  • too small--SacValleyDweller (talk) 19:23, 4 November 2007 (EST)
    • Perfecto, now!--SacValleyDweller (talk) 19:34, 4 November 2007 (EST)
      • You now need to set your signature in your preferences to insert {{User:SacValleyDweller/sig}} instead of the content of the entire template, as you are doing now.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:37, 4 November 2007 (EST)
        • Actually, I assume he's subst:ing it, which from a server viewpoint is preferrable.--Hardvice (talk) 19:48, 4 November 2007 (EST)
          • If it was a shorter template, I'd agree, but it's a large one just to print-out a name and that gets very spammy on talk pages.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:55, 4 November 2007 (EST)
            • I just hate to think of a talk page doing three hundred unnecessary transclusions.--Hardvice (talk) 19:59, 4 November 2007 (EST)
              • Actually, if there's 300 transclusions on a talk page, it's in serious need of archiving--that's not going to happen. Anyways, I'm not in favor of these backgrounded user sigs, but I'd rather have them in a subpage template since they tend to be spammy and an outright ban isn't going to happen.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:23, 4 November 2007 (EST)

Sig fixed

Hows that[Grr!!!]?--  Japanimation          My Talk   00:50, 30 November 2007 (EST)

  • Not yet... Did you set your sig to the "autosig" subpage using your prefs?--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:53, 30 November 2007 (EST)

I managed to fix it!--  Japanimation          My Talk   00:56, 30 November 2007 (EST)

  • Yes, now it's better! :) Though most people have it reversed (the "autosig" is normally only for setting the prefs, not for remaining in the edit text).--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:59, 30 November 2007 (EST)
    • I would like to counter that. Technically, in my own little twisted world, it isn't my autosig...but just as it says, a sig ;D--  Japanimation          My Talk   01:09, 30 November 2007 (EST)
      • Then it should read "a_sig" instead of "asig". ;) Anyways, not really a big deal, just thought you might want it same as everyone else.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:13, 30 November 2007 (EST)
        • I went and fixed it anyway. I am a little obsessive compulsive about my computer stuff.--  Japanimation          My Talk   01:15, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Re: In Other Languages...

I tried, but it didn't work. I explained it on the translations page. :( --(ME my talk/my contribs) 11:56, 1 December 2007 (EST)

  • Try it again, but sub es: with en: since your site is the Spanish site. It should work now. Admin hadn't installed the Interwiki links, but now he has.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:17, 1 December 2007 (EST)
    • Yes, it's working perfectly, thank you for your help. :) --(ME my talk/my contribs) 12:29, 1 December 2007 (EST)

Signatures/timestamps

Thanks for the correction; I thought it looked wrong, but didn't know how to fix it on my own. --Shade 09:40, 5 December 2007 (EST)

re: archiving

I got finals and other projects as far as irons in the fire right now, I might over the weekend. If you want to do have at it! :) I have the post with instructions on archiving in the tools section of my userpage so I can perform an archiving during the break. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 22:25, 5 December 2007 (EST)

perhaps this is the substitution cipher/rotational cipher?--Poke egg (talk) 21:21, 12 December 2007 (EST)

  • It's definately a form of substitution cipher. It's written in java, and we'll probably need to change the input text.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:45, 12 December 2007 (EST)
    • JavaScript, actually. Completely different languages despite the similar names... and being someone who occasionally programs in Java I couldn't just let that slide. ;) (Admin 03:26, 30 December 2007 (EST))
      • Thanks, though it's kind of a belated correction (it's already fixed elsewhere's).--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:16, 30 December 2007 (EST)

Wars of Gear

Scraba doo doo--AmazeKing (talk) 01:15, 15 December 2007 (EST)

  • "Scooby Dooby Doo!" is more like it, and I think the video game is "Gears of War". :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:26, 15 December 2007 (EST)
  • Mr.Flanders--AmazeKing (talk) 12:03, 16 December 2007 (EST)
    • Ah, that's an interesting animation at Newgrounds, but there is no Mr. Flanders in it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:22, 16 December 2007 (EST)

Answer my question before I go crazy

I don't know why I have a compelling urge to know this, but I have for months: Are you a guy or a girl? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:42, 19 December 2007 (EST)

  • Looks like someone needs an infobox on their user page so people know their gender. (Grammar purposely mangled to keep Heroe in suspense). :) (Admin 22:47, 19 December 2007 (EST))
    • For those of us who have received emails from Miami and know the gender of this individual, it sure would be fun to keep this person's sex a secret.... Really, I'll do anything to keep Heroe going crazy. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:50, 19 December 2007 (EST)
      • How can you not know his gender? She's a major contributer on the website. :) -- Lulu .:talk:. 22:55, 19 December 2007 (EST)
        • Oh, God...:) --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 23:04, 19 December 2007 (EST)
          • Lol, nice way to use both there, Lulu :)... I guess my wiki gender is plural, since Volts is is a plural word and thus Admin's grammar is technically correct... but point taken, Admin. I'll be adding an infobox soon enough (I've been trying to find a good user image before I did). In the mean time, it's not a secret. I had already set my profile gender somewhere else that Heroe knows about and could have checked if Heroe is really that curious.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:43, 19 December 2007 (EST)

Drucker puzzle

Just thought of this and I'm at work right now, so I can't spend much time on it...but since the symbol seems to be the key to decoding the puzzle, how about trying "Godsend?" --Simply Agrestic 15:26, 20 December 2007 (EST)

  • Good idea! I'll try that.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:29, 20 December 2007 (EST)

You

MiamiVolts=Awesome Therequiembellishere 19:51, 29 December 2007 (EST)

  • Thanks, but the complement won't stop me from trying to get a straight answer out of you. j/k ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:58, 29 December 2007 (EST)
    • I hadn't seen the question makr actually. xD It was 96% emo phase, 4% Haunted Mansion. Therequiembellishere 20:49, 29 December 2007 (EST)
      • Ah, well I'm glad you're past that now. There's enough death talk in the news and other media; it can become depressing.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:01, 29 December 2007 (EST)
        • It still lingers. :-) Therequiembellishere 21:58, 29 December 2007 (EST)
          • Just think happy thoughts and maybe that will help. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:15, 29 December 2007 (EST)
            • What's so bad about being emo? I have emo friends. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:25, 29 December 2007 (EST)
              • It's not necessarily emo per se, but Therequiembellishere is equating emo with funeral bells, and imho being fond of death is not a good thing.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:45, 29 December 2007 (EST)
