Wet Hot American Summer is the 2001 cult film that was revived in 2015 as a prequel television show called Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. The film and the television show focus on the staff and campers at the fictional Camp Firewood.

- Netflix's television version of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp was released on July 31, 2015, just days after Dark Matters was released. However, when Dark Matters takes place, the new show had not yet been announced. That means that the shirt Phoebe was wearing was a reference to the original film Wet Hot American Summer, not to the popular prequel First Day of Camp.
