On your updgrading the List of articles related to the Company project...

That's a major change. Be sure you bring your plan up at Talk:List of articles related to the Company before you go and implement it to see if the changes you propose are wanted. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:25, 13 July 2008 (EDT)

  • OK, good. :) My apologies if that came off a little stern, I don't know you all that well. :( --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:31, 13 July 2008 (EDT)

Interviews

Great job getting those new interviews! It'll be cool to hear what some of the lesser known actors have to say, so thanks for getting them. I look forward to reading them! --
Friskymuffin - (talk) 16:59, 14 July 2008 (EDT)

  • Are the interviews definite? If so do we have Interview articles here for them yet? The Interview articles give people a place to submit questions for the interview. (Admin 16:33, 15 July 2008 (EDT))
  • For future interviews I definitely recommend letting others submit question ideas (I'm glad people can submit for the Shalim interview). People usually come up with some really good questions. :) (Admin 17:32, 15 July 2008 (EDT))
    • Very cool getting an interview with Kiko as well. You may want to pace yourself, though, cause transcribing the interview properly can be a bit of work.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:05, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Try e-mailing Yule Caise, the director of the Webisodes, so that your Webisode interview collection can be more complete. I'd love to do it myself if I am not a total newbie in interviewing people. Chrisyu357 09:49, 18 July 2008 (EDT)
        • I can't find any info on how to contact Jim Martin online, but your best shot is to contact someone from the OWI (deas-nuts@the-owi.com) as they've done an interview with Jim already and they probably have his contact info. No luck with Rebeka Montoya though. Chrisyu357 10:38, 18 July 2008 (EDT)
          • BTW do you do the interview by phone or by e-mail? Just curious. -Chrisyu357 09:29, 19 July 2008 (EDT)
            • Wow, thanks for the fast reply. :) Chrisyu357 09:31, 19 July 2008 (EDT)
              • Is it out yet? Fable rocks, but unfortunately I haven't got a Xbox360, but Dead Rising on Wii makes my day slightly better. End of off topic discussion. :)Chrisyu357 09:35, 19 July 2008 (EDT)
                • I haven't really contacted a lot of people... just she and Tim Sale, so no worries. I'd like to do more interview with the crew members. BTW you don't need to sleep, do ya? :) Chrisyu357 12:29, 19 July 2008 (EDT)
                  • OK, I guess I just got pwnd by time difference. Chrisyu357 12:36, 19 July 2008 (EDT)

Interviews (Part 2)

  • Good job on getting the interviews! However, have you contacted the people at NBC? Because when I contacted them, they said, "For online outlets, we typically do not set up interviews until closer to the premiere. Nick D'Agosto is no longer on the show. If you not go directly to their personal publicists and work through myself or David, we would appreciate it. Thank you." Therefore, I would suggest contacting NBC if you haven't already, just to make sure it's okay. I'm not trying to burst your bubble or anything, but I just don't want you or the wiki getting into any trouble. Thanks,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  04:05, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
  • I am indeed. I take it you're the guy who's interviewing Christian Bowman over there? If you are, then I have your email address, so I'll email over a contact email for you.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  10:04, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
    • NBC aren't letting us do any interviews with people who are still contracted to appear on the show this year. They've said to me they'll arrange something with me at the end of August. Until then, present cast members are off-limits. As for your list, Brea Grant has already been contacted, and she has agreed. I have contacted quite a few people, but not many of the main cast have replied. If you're going for guest cast and recurring cast only, then okay, because I haven't gone for any of them. As far as crew go, I have contacted Greg Beeman, Aron Eli Coleite, Dennis Hammer, Ragui Hanna, Cedric Tomacruz, Wendy and Lisa and Scott Boyd. But, to reiterate, main cast members have to go through NBC. My advice would be to stay clear of those, as I can tell you already that you won't be able to do it. I plan to have a mini-interview with Hayden Panettiere - but it's not going to happen till closer to the premiere. The same with Tim Kring, perhaps, or maybe Greg Grunberg. But, as I said, if you're going for other cast, make sure they're not with the show any more, as with Nicholas D'Agosto. Oh, and James Kyson Lee has already been interviewed by the site. Best of luck to you,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  12:38, 17 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Well, I can do, but, as I said, if they don't work with the show any more, I don't need to. I will, however, email you the details for Kirsty at NBC, if you want them, but the answer will be as I've already told you. I am not getting into another big discussion about being "pressured" out of anything - LP issues stay on LP, if you don't mind. I respect the SysOps' decision regarding the issue on both sites. I don't think it's necessary for us to "take" anyone - I don't plan to contact any more people until I get the go-ahead for NBC, and when I do, I will liaise with them directly. I can tell you are enthusiastic about interviews and I respect that, but try and make sure that the interviews are constructive and informative rather than just for the sake of it. Not saying your ones are, not for a second, but just something for the future (I think Admin said the same thing for you). This interview thing is not a competition between the two of us - you do your thing, and I'll do mine. You know who I've contacted, and I you. So all's good in my camp.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  15:51, 17 July 2008 (EDT)
  • I still think you're scheduling these interviews too close together. I'm not sure you'll get the all the questions you could have if they were spaced farther apart.--MiamiVolts (talk) 07:26, 19 July 2008 (EDT)
    • I already told you I'd contacted Brea Grant. She agreed to an interview with me. So why have you agreed to do an interview with her?--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  05:51, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Yeah, please be nice, skywalkrrbf. As I mentioned, we've got a bunch of interviews planned already, so I think it's safe to slow down and rest a bit (not push it), or we may end up with no more interviews at all.--MiamiVolts (talk) 07:26, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Interviews (Part 3)

I do try to be nice, but I asked her before Lost Soul told me he had asked her, thats why I have a page showing who I have contacted so things like this don't happen. And I have slowed down, I am now just waiting for replies and I have contacted nearly 70 people lol but I don't think they will all reply. I am also spacing out my interviews now, with about 5 days in between each one. --Skywalkerrbf 07:32, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

  • That may be so, but as I also said to you (twice!), you can't interview main cast members or people still connected to the show without prior approval from NBC. That is the procedure, and I have it from them officially that they are not doing interviews until closer to the premiere. You cannot deny that I said that, because all you have to do is look above.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  07:31, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
    • I said that I'd send them if you really want them, but the answer will be as I already told you. It's a pointless exercise - all they'll say is 'no', and to receive two emails from two different people, who both claim to be from Heroes Wiki, it might confuse them and lead them to say no to me when I contact them in late-August time. Then, we might not get any main cast members at all. And the thing with Brea is that you could have sent another email recognizing your mistake - interviews aren't agreed in one correspondence. You would have traded emails with her or her people (who should have said something too, but that's not the point, they're busy people) - and you could have mentioned it. As I've said before, I don't have a problem with you doing interviews - clearly you're enthusiastic about it and want to do it, and that's a good thing. However, 4 days ago (July 17), I posted a very long message to you explaining myself, and you didn't even respond to let me know you'd read and understood the opinion I'm trying to put across. That's what gets me - I am happy to liaise with you, but only if it's a two-way thing.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  07:45, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
      • Skywalkerrbf, Lost Soul had already noted he was doing the Brea interview a while back. That you didn't know then isn't an excuse to take the interview from him now. I think the right thing to do would be to apologize, allow Lost Soul to do the interview, and move on.--MiamiVolts (talk) 07:53, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
        • Again, look above. There is a list right there of people I've contacted. I have contacted main cast members, but there's no point me sending you that because you wouldn't be able to get them anyway (because of NBC). I will send you the NBC contact details if you wish, but, again, I don't see what good it'll do. If the people you're interviewing are not involved in the show any more, you are fine. Anyone else, you have to get vetted. I don't know how many people you are interviewing who are still involved in Heroes - do you have anyone? Because, if not, there's no need to go to NBC. And as for your last comment: my response (that you didn't reply to) was part of a discussion that we were having. A discussion which you ended by not replying.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  07:57, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
          • I'll send it now. Nick is not involved in the show any more. Please make sure you inform them that you and I are both working on this together, so they understand. Thank you. Oh, and just so you know, I have absolitely nothing against you - this has not been a personal attack, I just needed to let you know where I stood. Good luck with the rest of your interviews,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  08:03, 21 July 2008 (EDT)
            • I don't know about Brea. It's up to NBC. I'm afraid I can't answer either of your questions because it is out of my hands. Just out of curiosity, did you contact her directly or through a publicist?--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  08:11, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Replies

You don't have to reply all of my messages to my page. It's easier to follow the discussion if you reply to one page (we'll see it soon enough), and it'll make things easier when you begin archiving.--MiamiVolts (talk) 07:53, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Spelling

  • When making edits to existing articles or creating new articles, could you check over your spelling a few times before submitting the changes? I've noticed a very high number of misspellings in your contributions. Not trying to be critical, it's just that spelling mistakes are often harder to notice and may slip by. Having a lot of spelling mistakes makes our articles look unprofessional. If you're not a good speller then some browsers like Firefox have a built-in spell checker that will underline potential misspellings for you so you can correct them. Thanks!  :) (Admin 13:42, 18 July 2008 (EDT))
    • I second that suggestion. Firefox has helped me catch and fix many spelling mistakes I would probably have missed otherwise.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:11, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

Interviews

I can do the Kevin Tostado interview, because I like crew more. :) I think you can get Gunnar Clancey's email here, but I don't think you should do too many interviews at once, since it's hard for other users to keep up. I'm a quality over quantity guy, so I think you should focus on the interview you have now, then contact more people after you've finish this wave of interview. Chrisyu357 08:17, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Summary box

When you make an edit, there should be a summary box below the main edit window and above the save page, show preview and show changes buttons. I noticed you not using this, so I wanted to point it out to you. It's especially helpful to use it so people know what changes you are making to a page. Whatever you type in the summary box appears after the article name in Special:Recentchanges. If you type nothing and it's a new article, the first few sentences will appear there instead. That can be a problem if you are making a spoiler article or an interview article for an actor who is a spoiler.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:41, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Deletions

To ask for a page to be deleted by an administrator, put {{afd|reason=ADD-THE-REASON-WHY-HERE}} on the top of a page (the nowiki tag is just to show you).--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:08, 22 July 2008 (EDT)

Photos

Here's a few tips: .jpg's are better since they can be scaled by the wiki if too large, .png's don't scale; portrait photos should be 200px width x 250px height; you are allowed to upload/save new photos directly over old ones in order to replace them. Also, I prefer not to include the name for actor/character in the image filename if it is a spoiler. Most of these tips are already in Help:Images.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:06, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

Sorry

I'm nacho9000 and i thougth that i could delete that theory because i was the one that post it in the first place.

Hey

Just before you get any ideas, I'm not here to do interviews. You're doing a fantastic job with them, and I'm not going to impinge on that. I'm here for the good-old-fashioned article editing. --Sam McPherson 18:03, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

RE: More Interviews

  • I have emailed Kristy, but as yet have not received a reply from her. As for your interview with Adair, good job, but I'm not sure whether this controvenes her original guideline; in other words, if we're allowed to do this without going through NBC, seeing as, as far as I'm aware, Molly is still a part of the show. Oh, and what did your guy say to Kristy? Thanks,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  03:47, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Well, I take it you received Kristy's email. If you didn't - well, she basically said one a month, and suggested N'Tare. As you chased him in the first place, I suggested that you take him, but only if I can have the next one. How is that for you?--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  03:39, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
      • It should be fine, but if it includes Adair then I think we should do her sooner rather than later, she is only 11 and two months is a long time to wait, so I may ask to do her first. I think taking it in turns each month is a good idea too, hope we get some good people for interviews.--Skywalkerrbf 03:45, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Re:Pictures

There isn't a point. We can just replace them later on, that's what we do. We put something up until something better comes to supersede it. I understand your sentiment, but please don't own the page. This is on the mainspace for everyone to edit, not a subpage for the user to lord over. Therequiembellishere 14:17, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

I get that you only want pictures from the map, but until they come we should have one of our own profiles. If and when the come I'd be happy to help change them over. Therequiembellishere 14:24, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

Conference call points

  • Ryan mentioned on his talk page, but I just wanted to reiterate. During the conference call and any other interaction with others that relates to Heroes Wiki it's essential that you represent yourself correctly. Many people do not understand the collaborative nature of a wiki and will frequently jump to conclusions about someone's role in the site. When mentioning the site you need to call yourself (and make sure you are called) "a contributor to Heroes Wiki" rather than an owner, maintainer, administrator, moderator, or any other term that may misrepresent yourself. No one can act "on behalf of Heroes Wiki" except for me as the actual owner. If you get a sense that someone misunderstands your role, make sure to proactively correct them so there's not any confusion. If someone needs to contact the owner of this site, direct them to me either on the site here or through email at admin@heroeswiki.com. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the conference call! :) (Admin 20:44, 28 August 2008 (EDT))

Conference call questions

  • I left this message on Lost Soul's talk page, and I thought I'd leave the same message for you. :) I like a lot of the questions coming in from our contributors--very thoughtful, and it's hopefully giving you a good base of things to think about. Just a thought to remember, though--you are participating in a press conference about the upcoming season, not an interview about the people. Though most of the questions are outstanding, some are less about the upcoming season and more about Tim Kring and Zachary Quinto. Now, it might end up that the press ask questions about Tim and Zachary, but I doubt it--they'll mostly be about the show, and specifically about what to expect in the third season. I don't want to tell you what to say or not to say, but I would just caution that to continue "running with the crowd", I would ask questions that follow a similar vein as the questions asked by the professional press. :) Good luck on Friday! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:51, 1 September 2008 (EDT)

Moving pages

Hey there, thanks for moving Outbreak to Outbreak Future. When moving one page to another, it's best not to cut and paste, but to use the move button/link at the top of the article. It automatically creates a redirect, it gives a space for the reason the page is being moved, it gives you the option to move the talk page, it keeps the history intact, it disallows for user error, and it records the action in the move log. Not that big a deal, just a note for next time you move an article. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:26, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Interviews about graphic novels

Joe Tolerico and NBC would like any interviews that have to do with the graphic novels or Heroes Evolutions to be submitted to them before they go public so their publicity crew can check over them. So for instance, if you ask Ken Lally any questions about the graphic novels or Heroes Evolutions, you'll have to have the interview approved first. That goes for any interview with that particular subject matter. You can send the interviews to me (ryangibsonstewart at heroeswiki dot com) and I'll pass it along to the right people. Thanks. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:05, 9 October 2008 (EDT)

Leaving the Wiki?

Sorry to read that you're leaving, Skywalkerrbf, and that you didn't want to stick around to appeal the decision or allow Ryan to confirm/explain it before you made your decision to leave.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:57, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • I can't see any point in appealing, I am ovisly wanted to stop doing the interviews or I would of been given a warning first. I am waiting for reasons why my interviews are poor but I have had no reply from any admins so far. If you are reading this then I would like to know. Its also hard to try and appeal to people who have just runied your life.--Skywalkerrbf 12:59, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • If you don't understand the reasons, I don't think you should have been impulsive and said you were jumping ship right away without waiting at least a day or so to get more input. Also, saying your life has been ruined is a bit drastic, imho. It looks like Admin is in the process of explaining now in the next thread, so I'm waiting a bit to see what else Admin and Ryan have to say before saying anything else.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:04, 4 November 2008 (EST)
I was told about it yesterday morning so I have waited more than 24 hours. And this really has ruined my life. These interviews are what I love to do, my passion, and now that passion has been cut off. Ryan did explain to be my saying this:

You didn't do anything "wrong". You conducted a number of interviews that were not up to par. You are not being asked to leave the wiki, you are simply being asked not to publish any more interviews on Heroes Wiki because they do not meet grammar standards, spelling standards, formatting standards, or quality standards.
I do not understand this exactly as I have improved my spelling a lot and I thought my grammar was fine. I am so angry and upset at the moment I don't know what to think.--Skywalkerrbf 14:10, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • This is the first I'm reading about it, so that's why I have that impression. Even so, I'd still give it some time.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:30, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • If you take a look on Ryan's talk page I think you will see that he is done with me.--Skywalkerrbf 03:00, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • Like I said before, I'd give it some time. Admin mentioned something about it not being possible due to the NBC partnership, so he may be trying to work things out with our partners and not be able to discuss it, or it may just be that Ryan and/or Admin consider you a potential liability to the partnership due to your past grammar and spelling errors and don't want to belabor the point. Either way, I don't think a repeated appeal or additional begging to Ryan or Admin is going to do you any good at this time as they have not replied. I recommend you sit it out at least a few months, or if you still want to try and pursue interviews, you can go work on your own site. If you do decide to stick around, it is perhaps possible that things could change over time, but the administrators here have not suggested for you any definitive time frame on when you could ask for the situation to be re-reviewed, so you'll have to use your own judgment on that.
All that said, I respect the administrators for using their judgment in protecting their site. They don't have an easy job, and in the end it is always their call. I hope you can understand that sometimes everything cannot be said and take into consideration my recommendation. That's all I can say.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:44, 5 November 2008 (EST)
  • No-one has said that they can't say, just that they think they have said enough. I don't think you realise how hard this is for me. I don't have the time to sit on this for a few months. I have interviews to post on my new website but I can't post them until I know what I have done wrong. I have put months of my life into this site and no-one here seems to care at all about me any more apart from the two people below. My life has been runied. I gave months of my life for this site, why can no-one give seconds of their life to tell me?--Skywalkerrbf 11:10, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • If they said they can't say, that would be an admission, so they're not going to do that, if that's the reason. And we don't know if that's the reason or there's any more to it, but it doesn't matter. Since you don't want to wait, you can get a grip and work on your own site. I don't think complaining more is helping. You had moved on from Lostpedia to here, and now you have a chance to move on again. I hope you enjoy your fresh start, like I think you did coming here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:41, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • Get a grip, you're telling me to get a grip? If you're not going to help then please say nothing at all. I am so upset about all this. I thought that people here enjoyed my interviews, there was no indercations that they were not. Please, you are not helping me at all. I am trying my hardest to work on my own site, but how am I meant to know what to do better this time if I didn't know what I did wrong last time? You are being really insensitive to me.--Skywalkerrbf 11:44, 5 November 2008 (EST)
        • Yes, get a grip and I say that only cause I'm trying to help you. I recommended you ask for a more detailed explanation, you did, and now I'm recommending that you stop. I'm concerned that your continued pleas here are only going to succeed in ruining any future chance you'll have. If you wish to talk to me offline to me about your situation, I'm willing to try and give you some suggestions for improving/adding the interviews on your site, but I think you've continued this discussion here long enough already and are now only hurting your cause.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:07, 5 November 2008 (EST)
          • Its rad to get a grip when your life has been ripped in two. no-one has ever even mentioned me having a second chance, if I was going to have one I would of got a warning in the first place. You don't understand how upset I am, its too hard to 'get a grip'. All my friends were upset when the heard the news and angry that they couldn't do anything. Why can you not give me suggestions on here? I am pretty sure that they arn't going to turn around and change their minds, I don't know if I would come back if they did. As I am leaving then this is the best time to say this. I feel you have always treated me bad and I've tried to not let it get to me, but telling me to get a grip if just awful.--Skywalkerrbf 12:12, 5 November 2008 (EST)
            • If you think I've treated you bad, I'm sorry, but that was not my intention. I hope it means something to you that I put in the effort to try and help you when you were planning to just up and leave. If you don't want to see it as help, that's up to you, but I'm trying.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:22, 5 November 2008 (EST)

Reg. your good bye

I'm sorry see how much you are hurt. I'm not aware of the discussion, apart from what you have written on you page. I just wanna tell you that I for one have enjoyed your interviews, as well as the obvious effort behind them. I do by no means agree on the opinion that they are failing in quality. My only interpretation is that it's not the actual interviews that aren't good enough, but rather some of the subjects (minor co-stars etc).

No matter the reasons behind it, I urge you not to take it too personal. Your work has not - NOT - been in vain! There sure has been ppl more than me that enjoy the result of your work! I for one would be sad to see you go - not only would I miss the interviews, but also your other contributions. I can't say I blame you if you decide to go though. I know that it's hard to feel rejected.

I'm hoping to be able to read your interviews some other place. Getting a website doesn't have to cost any money. The easiest way to publish further (and previous) interviews is via a blog service, which there are several available, free of charge.

Once again - thanx for your work, it's been a treat to have been able to read it, and please try not to let this get to you. Take care, man.

cheers! --Pierre 13:22, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Thanks a lot for your kind words. I have still not been told exactly what was wrong with my interviews, I am waiting to be told before I set up my own site so I know what I can do better. Its good to know that someone enjoyed my work, even if you are the only one then that means a lot to me. I only wish people had told me how to improve my interviews and given me a second chance but well that seems to be how it works around here, you are saked to stop. I wish I could still edit this Wiki but seeing the people who have torn my life apart is very, very hard for me.--Skywalkerrbf 13:27, 4 November 2008 (EST)
      • Believe me - I'm not the only one. I even discussed the Ken Lally one with some friends, and the Shalim Ortiz one might also have popped up in the discussions. And I'm in Sweden, mind you :)
      • When doing work that is being put out in public one will, sooner or later, have negative reactions (when one think about it, it's just a sign that you are being read - notice that the Ortiz interview has been accessed over 1.100 times :) ). The trick is to not let this bug you too much, but (just as you do) have ppl specify there criticism, and use it to learn and get even better at what you do (we will never get perfect ;) ). In the meantime we should try to focus on the positive response, and (very important) have fun while conducting our work. Honestly - you have been in contact with several actors from one of the most watched TV shows on the globe - I for one is kinda envious for that ;) --Pierre 13:47, 4 November 2008 (EST)
Yer I have really enjoyed interviewing the actors, Masi Oki and Tim Kring are very well known and I had a load of fun wirh Jimmy (the Hatiain). Thats what it even harder to have to leave this site.--Skywalkerrbf 13:51, 4 November 2008 (EST)makes
I can see how that is :) But there is no reason why you should stop just because the agreement with NBC changes the interview policy of Heroes Wiki. There are other ways to publish yourself. Let me know when you have settled for a new channel, or if I can help you out in any way :) --Pierre 13:59, 4 November 2008 (EST)
Yer I do plan to start my own site under the name lotsofinterviews.com but I really duno too much about setting up websites, interviews are what I can set up...--Skywalkerrbf 14:10, 4 November 2008 (EST)
Sadly, I'm not that familiar with webhosting. Getting your own domain will of course cost you money, but then again - most hobbies do, and you won't be the subject of others opinions ;) Ãnd it would be a chance for you to get some proper web knowledge! All the best wishes, Skywalkerrbf! --Pierre 14:21, 4 November 2008 (EST)
  • I'm not sure, but Admin may be able to help you (Skywalkerrbf) set up such a domain/site, as that's what he does. He may not say yes, but I don't think he'd be offended if you asked him for such help along with a more detailed explanation.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:26, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • (Just talked to a friend who recommended http://www.active24.co.uk/. It's a reasonable price, it UK based (as is you, I take it) and they have experience on the matter. However, naturally, I won't take responsibility for how they handle their costumers ;)) --Pierre 14:28, 4 November 2008 (EST)
      • Rbf, I think active24.co.uk could end up giving you a .uk domain, meaning your site might end up as lotsofinterviews.co.uk, but I'm not sure. You should probably check out a few providers before making your decision. That being said, I've heard Admin has good pricing. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:38, 4 November 2008 (EST)
      • Thanks for the info guys.--Skywalkerrbf 14:32, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Riddler's Goodbye

Nothing is stopping you from doing interviews, and nothing is stopping you from posting them here. Keep them in your user pages, and maybe a compromise can be worked out. I mean dude, you were even in a graphic novel, you're getting known. You're work is decent, so keep at it.--Riddler 13:41, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Actually, he cannot interview for Heroes Wiki. Our partnership with NBC has necessitated some changes in how interviews are arranged since we need to proceed through official channels now. (Admin 13:44, 4 November 2008 (EST))
    • I didn't think that would be aloud. I will try start my own site and post them on that. If anyone would be willing to help me then what would be great. Thanks for the kind words Riddler. Admin can you please tell me wat was wrong with my interviews. Was in NBC them selfs who complained about them?--Skywalkerrbf 13:45, 4 November 2008 (EST)
      • He can't put them on user pages, and maybe a "Fan creation" section for "Fan ran interviews" or something like that? :/--Riddler 13:46, 4 November 2008 (EST)
        • I don't think that will be aloud, I wish it was but no, my own site is the only way to go.--Skywalkerrbf 13:51, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Admin

I would like to ask a few things.
1. Can I please have a detailed report of what I did wrong so I will know how to improve with examples.
2. Has someone complained about me at NBC or on the site oe was it just you and Ryan deciding?
3. Is there any chance you could help me set up my own website? I have no idea where to start.

Suggestion/Abuse from Citizen

I would look through the edit histories of your interviews--see what needed to be changed. - Josh (talk/contribs) 12:52, 5 November 2008 (EST)

  • I pretty much know what I've done, but its hard to see what's wrong when its you looking at your own work.--Skywalkerrbf 12:53, 5 November 2008 (EST)

I just finished reading about what happened. I can only recommend that you get a grip on yourself, as you will only make things worse. Sure, your life was ripped in two like the formula, but you're not gonna let this get in your way, are you? wink.gif

Wordpress is a great blog site where you can post interviews. I used Wordpress for my spoiler blog back in the Summer.

Hope it's what you're looking for.--Citizen 13:01, 5 November 2008 (EST)

  • Really I am just looking to see how to run a domain name if you get me. And please do not tell me to get a grip.--Skywalkerrbf 13:20, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • Why? That's what you need to do: get a grip. It's not like it's the end of the world, man.--Citizen 13:54, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • You are really not helping. I was living my dream, doing interviews with the stars of my favourite show, and now that dream has been taken from me. It might not be the end of the world but it is the end of this part of my life. Only one person has said they liked my interviews, do you know how hard that is to take? Please, if you are not going to help then shut up.--Skywalkerrbf 13:58, 5 November 2008 (EST)
        • Whoa, calm the f*ck down, you little pig. You're acting like a drama queen. What do you mean that dream has been taken away from you? You still got to interview them, didn't you? Just post the interviews on another site. I was just trying to help.--Citizen 14:03, 5 November 2008 (EST)
          • Why are you insulting me and calling me pig? Do not talk to me like that, if I talked to you like that you would not be happy.--Skywalkerrbf 14:04, 5 November 2008 (EST)
            • Don't insult me, you'll ruin my whole life!--Citizen 14:11, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                1. Citizen, no need to use that extreme language, even if your point is somewhat valid.
                2. Skywalkerrbf, you might not realize it but you come off as very over-dramatic about this. No one says you can't continue to interview people. You weren't getting paid for it, so it's not like you just lost your job. Be patient while this NBC stuff is worked out, and take it from there, be it using a new site or not. GabrielPetrelli 14:17, 5 November 2008 (EST)
          • Why do people keep on saying I might be able to post my interviews on this site still? No-one with the power to give me back the privilege to do this has said anything to me about getting them back, I do not think it will happen. And Citizen, you are completely out of order. You have resulted to name calling and swearing. telling to to calm the fuck down is awful language and calling me a little pig and a drama queen, what are you trying to say? What have I done against you? I am finding this a very hard time and no-one seems to care. Please only talk to me if you have something constructive to say. Gabriel, you might think I come over in a over dramatic way but I have put so much of my time into thease interviews and it has all gone to waste.--Skywalkerrbf 17:01, 5 November 2008 (EST)
            • Because you're acting like putrid pig and a drama queen. At least I had the decency to censor my "fuck". "THESE PPL RUIN MEIN LIFE!!11" You can start acting like an adult. Count your loses and move on. And you don't get to talk to me that way. This is my boat.--Citizen 17:44, 5 November 2008 (EST)
              • This is your boat? Please stop now. The insults continue. You tell me to act like a adult but you are the one name calling. Why are you being so awful? What have I done wrong to you?--Skywalkerrbf 17:47, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                • You haven't done anything to me. Honestly, I've enjoyed your contributions to the wiki. But I was always annoyed that you'd interview dozens of co-stars who'd only answer 5 questions. I never liked that from you. And now you're acting like the Formula, and I can't have that.--Citizen 17:52, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                  • Why can you not talk like this all the time. This is the kind of contribution I wanted. The hard part about interviews is that you never know how well people will answer your questions. You've got to be able to see why this is hard for me though, it would be like Heroes being moved to the sci-fi channel to you.--Skywalkerrbf 17:58, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                • Honestly, I have to side with Citizen here. You are really blowing this out of proportion. You do realize that you have it much better than other people? You're being really selfish, to be honest. Not to mention from what I've read, there's apparently something going on with one of RGS's sons, and yet you insist that he answer your questions, despite the fact that he's answered as much as he can. You have absolutely no regard for what's happening to other people, and you insist that it's the end of the world for you. One of my friends' mom just died, how do you think she feels? People starving in Africa? Genocide in Darfur? How do you think those people feel? Your situation is NOTHING compared to those of other people around the world. I really do suggest you don't overdramatize this so much. It's in really bad taste. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 17:59, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                  • You also released loads of interviews at once, and I could not keep up. If you tried to release an interview, let's say, once every two weeks, it might be a more steady source. Think of more powerful questions, and more of them. I used to do interviews for the Webcomics List. ... Can't remember why I stopped. --DocM 18:02, 5 November 2008 (EST)
                    • And he interviewed 2-year old co-stars that nobody wanted to know about. He hadn't finished interviewing one when he';d have over five more planned. And Thrashmeister, great post. This guy is crying because of some interviews, when he needs to GET A FUCKING GRIP.--Citizen 18:07, 5 November 2008 (EST)
  • I just can't take this site any more. The abuse I get. I meant the Heroes part of my life. I did not know about Ryan's son until recently. I try not to mix my real life with the wiki. And DocM I think you might of meant it might of been a more steady source. I tried my best to think of questions. I just can't take this abuse any more. People are being awful to me. Please stop. If you are not going to say something constructive then say nothing please. DocM you made a good point, thats the kind of things I was looking for. On my new site I will try and space out my interviews. But the way the people who I thought were looking out for me are treating me now really does make me feel awful, a whole community truing on you is not a nice feeling.

I give up. Say whatever you want now. I thought people enjoyed my interviews, I was very wrong. All I want is examples of where I went wrong from Admin or Ryan when they have the time. Hate me if you want people, I give up, you win I feel like shit. --Skywalkerrbf 18:10, 5 November 2008 (EST)

    • I don't hate you! I just don't like how you're handling things.--Citizen 18:15, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • Everybody, go to bed. This has gone on long enough. --DocM 18:16, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • Ok, well calling me a pig was a bad way to show me this, but its too late, what's said is said.--Skywalkerrbf 18:18, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • I AM SAYING SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE. I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU. THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU SHOULD GO THROUGH LIFE. You think life is a bloody field of roses? NO. There are THORNS that will pierce you whenever they get the chance. If you think everyone should treat you nicely despite how immaturely you're acting, then you will FAIL in life. That's the honest-to-God truth. You will fail if you keep thinking that. This is the real world, and whether or not, there are people that will tell you the truth, whether you like it or not, in order to help you. Honest to God, I am scared for you. This isn't even about the interviews anymore, or Heroes Wiki. This is about your attitude in life. It's not the way to go. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 18:19, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • It's his choice whether he leaves or stays. Why try and influence the decision further? --DocM 18:23, 5 November 2008 (EST)
        • No-one here is asking me to stay :S--Skywalkerrbf 18:24, 5 November 2008 (EST)
  • I don't mind the truth, just the insults and the way they are being said. Can you tell me exactly what I have done wrong there then? The only thing I have tried to do is find our what I have done wrong so I could improve, is that not what you are meant to do? I was probably a little bit too upset to think clearly but this has changed my life and it has been hard for me to cope.--Skywalkerrbf 18:24, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • I got expelled. That's a life changing moment. Yours is simply a temporary blow in your armour. You cannot improve your interviews on this site any more, that is official, but you can improve elsewhere. I have given you all the pointers I can give. Maybe focus on more than just Heroes in order to try and figure out a better structure, perhaps. --DocM 18:28, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • Yes I do plan to. I keep this part of my life different from the main part, so the Heroes part did change a lot.--Skywalkerrbf 18:31, 5 November 2008 (EST)

Comments

There have been a lot of very rude comments on this page. Rudeness, profanity, and contentious comments from all people must stop or people will be blocked. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:36, 5 November 2008 (EST)

  • I have stopped now, I have just given up on the people talking to me on this. All I want is to know what was wrong with my interviews so I can improve them, I hate being told to get a grip.--Skywalkerrbf 06:38, 6 November 2008 (EST)
    • I think everyone should cool their jets. RGS has tried his best to answer your questions, Skywalkerrbf, and with some family problems, do you really expect him to dig through all your interviews (regarding which the above points were valid) and pick out flaws? I think the flaws are obvious: the characters you interview are too minor, too unimportant; the questions you ask are "thin questions", you want deeper, more thought-provoking questions, "fat questions". Look at the interviews conducted by others (RGS himself, for example), and you will learn. This attitude is no way to go about things. Skywalkerrbf, if you decide to stay, then contribute positively to the site and work on your interviews, spending time to think about each one of them, and not rushing through them. If you decide to leave, then KTHXBAI. Radicell 07:54, 6 November 2008 (EST)
      • I am not aloud to stay on this site and do my interviews, I have been told to stop them. I know it was wrong to interview such minor characters but the actors did have some interesting things to say. All I wanted was people to answer my questions, not insult me. And everyone it was not my choice to stop doing interviews for Heroes Wiki. I know I took this badly but this seems to of become a personal attack on my attitude which is not normally like it is atm.--Skywalkerrbf 11:16, 6 November 2008 (EST)
        • I enjoyed your interviews, including the ones with minor actors. It was hard to keep track of them all as there were just too many in a short amount of time. Many were too short, I would suggest putting the smaller ones on one page called "Minor Q&A" or something like that. It would be nice if you were able to keep the interviews you have already done here, so they can be fixed up and linked. I wish you well on your new site, I hope it's not too difficult to get more interviews, as part of why you were able to get a lot of interviews is likely the association with Heroes Wiki. I know there are hard feeling right now but I hope you will feel you can continue to edit and contribute in the future. I'm not sure why people were attacking each other, everyone needs to remember, Do not take anything on the internet personally. Even if is directly to you, they probably don't know you and are just typing in to a box. -Lөvөl 12:28, 6 November 2008 (EST)
          • Thanks for the kind words. I find it hard not to respond to what people say when I am in a mood like this. I do think it will be harder to start my own site, a lot harder. Like I have said if anyone knows anything more about domain names then please say.--Skywalkerrbf 12:32, 6 November 2008 (EST)
            • You can try using Blogger.com, it is a great beginners platform and it is what I use. Try not to take things too personally or serious in life especially when it is regarding a TV show. Speaking from experience, I never thought blogging would become such a large part of my life and it has snowballed into a great site that I love doing for all the fans out there. If NBC, the Admin or Ryan ask you to do something it is in the site's best interest. I know you understand that and perhaps were looking for some "answers" as to why something you love and was a part of your life is being taken away from you?? Some times in life things are taken away from us and we NEVER get the answers. At least here, Ryan (with his busy life) gave you some explanation. Other sites you get banned and get NO explanation or reasons. If interviewing and having a site is what you want to do, then just keep pushing forward and try starting your own blog/site. You might not be able to post them here, but you are still a member of this community. Good luck to you. The ODI 15:21, 6 November 2008 (EST)
              • Thanks for the advice. You don't know how to make a domain name redirect to a blog like site do you?--Skywalkerrbf 16:51, 6 November 2008 (EST)
                • Welcome. Blogger has an option to allow a domain name to forward to your blogger site and I believe the place you buy your domain name should have a similar option. The ODI 18:01, 6 November 2008 (EST)

You can quite easily stop your interviews; you don't have to leave the site. There are other sectors of the site you can contribute to, interviews is only a small part of Heroes Wiki. Sit down take a few deep breaths and think this through, Heroes Wiki interviews isn't what your whole world is made out of. If you are a productive member of Heroes Wiki, it'll be rightly appreciated. Radicell 09:36, 7 November 2008 (EST)

Hey

Hey skywalkerrbf, I don't know if you still check this page, but I've just come back to Heroes Wiki (now that the UK is only a couple of days behind the US on episodes) so I wanted to say goodbye, and good luck with all your future ventures. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 11:58, 13 November 2008 (EST)

  • Thanks. I still get emails so I know when someone posts on here. I am in the process of taking my interviews off this site but I am very bussy atm so it will most probs be next weekend. --Skywalkerrbf 12:23, 13 November 2008 (EST)
