AWESOME! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:55, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

Awsome is the word! Great work, Level! Looking through the list, out of all still living evolved humans appearing on the show only four are missing - Niki, Angela (assuming she has an ability), Claude and Bob. Living GN posthumans missing are Traveler, Marcus, Abu Aswan, Piper, Daphne, Samir Mellouk, the teenage patient, the Manhattan target, Maarten, Howard Grigsby, the liquid man, the sound absorption agent and the unseen characters of "The Croatian" and "Guyanan local". Pierre 17:29, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
Looking through the missing posthumans, one can wonder if there is some reason why these characters where left out... Bob and Angela are the only surviving members of the founders still active within the Company, which would make them standing above the tracking system. Claude has been regarded missing in action (or even dead?) by the Company for almost a decade. And Niki... well... she being left-out is harder to explain, at least until we know the outcome of the Season 2 finale explosion...
As of the GN characters... Maarten, Howard Grigsby and the liquid man have only appeared in flashback GNs, and might be dead for all we know. Traveler's existence might be unknown to the Company and most of the other characters are most probably being considered too minor to be included by the Evolutions crew. Only Daphne and Samir stands out, but them being introduced just the other day could be the reason for them being overlooked.
It's nice too see Sparrow Redhouse's name though - meaning that there is still hope she will appear in either the GN or the proper show. Also - interesting to see two new names: the posthuman "Usutu" and Bridget's Company partner Agent Donahue... Pierre 18:51, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
Bob and Angela are in now. It shows Bob's title to be "director" but funnily doesn't name the Company (since it is their map). Therequiembellishere 03:00, 13 August 2008 (EDT)
Abu is on in red, will be interesting if it gets promoted. --Skywalkerrbf 14:00, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, if he's red, I'll bet it was a fan who added him. If NBC wants to add him themselves, they will. Therequiembellishere 14:23, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
If you're talking about the tip with a civilian interview from the guys that saw Abu levitating a boulder, I created it :-D Unfortunately, I made a typo somewhere. Also, I heard that they might "upgrade" some fan-created tips; it appears that Bob and the woman with metallic tears were originally added as red tips.--Referos 17:18, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
I think we need to start adding entries to see if they get added. We would need to write them well of course. If we add enough then I think we'll have a good chance. --Skywalkerrbf 17:27, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Abu is "upgraded" to a green pin. So is the Kill Squad members. Although it's nice to see them their, would they not be blue pins...? Pierre 09:56, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
And Traveler has been included as well :) Pierre 17:04, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
As has Howard Grigsby. Pierre 08:24, 12 September 2008 (EDT)
I just looked at the map and it seems Howard Grigsby has been added twice, once as a green pin to the right of Maury and Angela and once as a blue pin between Connie and Gael. -- The Heroic VIllain 12:45 12 September 2008

Carmen

The map isn't pulling up for me. Is it Carmen Gonzales or Gonzalez? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:45, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure it's with a "z". The verified tips aren't showing for me, weird. Therequiembellishere 11:03, 13 August 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, TRBIH. Can anybody else verify that for me? Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:04, 13 August 2008 (EDT)
Yes it is Gonzalez, I thought it was weird as well. It appears you have to let all the tips load before the verified tips will. -Lөvөl 11:23, 13 August 2008 (EDT)
Yeah I noticed that in the end. Even after I've unclicked the other two boxes, I still have to wait. Therequiembellishere 14:22, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

Needs

I think this could use one or more photos of the map itself, at least one for the infobox. Also, it'd be good to describe what original and new mean.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:43, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

  • I can't get the file to pull up right now, so I can't grab a good screenshot. But yeah, there's a bunch of things that need to be fixed and added before it's up to par. The basic info is all there, but a few things need major tweaks. Another thing that should be fixed is the layout--I like Level's idea of the sortable table. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:26, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

          • Oh, the colors weren't there when I made the comment above. I like the colors, but not across the entire entry--it's just a bit too much. Something like this might be better:

  • I prefer this one as well. Therequiembellishere 16:40, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
    • It looks really good! I would love for it to be possible to "sort the colors" as well - i.e. sort company agents and "bag and tag"-victims separately. Pierre 17:43, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
      • You can sort the colors: click on the arrows for "Tip Origin". (Some of the table would need to be cleaned up so there aren't "dead sorts"...) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:19, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
        • Awesome! Would it be possible to create a map to view all useful tips (blue/green), something like Template:Locationmap or would the pins be too crowded in places like New York?--Referos 18:01, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
          • It's certainly possible, but yes, it would be very crowded in spots, and would really defeat the purpose. If the map exists already, I think recreating the information to be searchable is a good idea, but I don't think we need to recreate the entire map. I'm not opposed, I just don't see the value. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:19, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Can we eliminate the space between the name and location? Otherwise, I think it looks great.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:27, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
    • The space between the the name and location is the last name. Here is the template I made to test. -Lөvөl 22:41, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
      • I was able to remove it from the above example and the template, so I don't think it's needed... feel free to re-add it if you think otherwise.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:12, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
        • It is there intentionally so you can sort it by the last name, see here for an example of how it normally works. It was kind of tricky getting it to work like that, if you remove it there is more you would have to remove. It could be changed to say last name, but it is not just for last names it is whatever is in the sortname field. If you can think of something else for it to say, we could try it. -Lөvөl 01:33, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
          • The last name sort itself seems a bit unnecessary, imho. It works well enough without it. I looked at the other example and it doesn't even do a sort (it may just be my browser acting up), but that's beside the point. I understand you think it's necessary to sort by last name, but I don't. If the sort cannot be done without an extra column I think that since the characters should originally be in alpha order by last name, it is okay to leave only a first name sort option.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:00, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
            • I would prefer a last name sort over a first name sort, but it's nice to have both. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:18, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

Lewis

Does anyone else find it strange that Lewis is on the map (a) in NYC and not Guyana and (b) that he's even on the map when he's considered dead by the Company? Will other dead characters be put on somewhere? Charlie, Paulette, Hana and Drucker, Matt, D.L., Alejandro, Eden, Claude, Ted and Candice seem the most likely to me. Therequiembellishere 22:17, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

  • Lewis isn't dead, he's simply a tree... I guess conceivably either the Company could have "uprooted" him and transported him back to Primatech Research, or the mission could have been made top secret; but more than likely, imho, the Company simply hasn't had the chance to update him on the map.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:24, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Well, I doubt they'll take him off now that he's on. Also, the Kill Squad would be very interesting for the map. And Paulette said, "I can't do that! It'll kill him!" Therequiembellishere 22:32, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Keep in mind that the squad leader also thought shooting bullets at Brendan would kill him, but that didn't happen.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:42, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Claude is not dead! Chrisyu357 06:31, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

Profile pictures

I want to get the other profile pictures, but the map won't load for me now... Ugh! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:50, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

  • The map hasn't loaded for me now for about two weeks... if you can get back access, please let us know.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:11, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
  • For me it only works if the window of tab has focus all the time it is loading, and it still takes a while. -Lөvөl 13:12, 20 August 2008 (EDT)
  • When it doesn't work for me, I just keep refreshing -- eventually it works.--Referos 18:55, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

Location and home

I don't think we should assume that the locations of the agents are their home. It's just where they are now. For example, Donna's location shows her to be in Silver River even though she is from Baltimore. Chrisyu357 01:55, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

Dates

I think that instead of the original/new division, it would be better if we could add the dates of when the tips were introduced in the map. It would also be easier for those who just want to check if new information was added.--Referos 18:55, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

New vs. Old

I don't like how this page is sorted by "Original" and "New", though I can't think of many ways to adjust it. The way I see it, though, is that some people don't follow the comics, or haven't seen all of the Evolutions stuff, and might not know that some people in "Original" are indeed original and may have never seen them before. I kinda think it should just be sorted by "Assignments" and "Verified Tips". Those are two distinctly defined groups and people can see who falls under what. --Riddler 11:59, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

  • I just thought I would point out that two people in New are in fact Original. Angela Perelli and Robert Bishop, I am new at editing so I thought I would tell you so a more experience member could fix it. I am in agreement with Riddler as i think it would be better to just put everyone on the same table, maybe you could add a sort column so you can sort it into new, TV person or GN person. The only problem being is some overlap. --laughingdevilboy 18:00, 21 August 2008
    • I don't think it should be sorted by TV vs. GN, because they do overlap and you never know when someone will show up on the show or in the novels, but having it Assignment vs. Verified Tips is definitely the way to go.--Riddler 13:21, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
  • "Original" and "New" are used to denote ones that were on the map when it was first put up and ones that were put on after Evs' message that said "a fake tip I posted just got elevated to an investigation.", in an attempt to help identify which ones could be reliable. Sense then other things (like pictures) were added to some of the "New" ones that show that they are reliable. I don't know if they are useful anymore or if there is another way it should be done. -Lөvөl 13:40, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
    • I believe that there should be at least a "Notes" section telling what happened on each update. The first wave on August 11 had most of the characters we already know except for Bob and Angela. The next group on August 12 had more people including Bob and Angela and the group after that on August 14 had a lot more people, mostly new (or rather verified tips). On August 19, one person was added in Denver and pictures were added to most of the agents (drawn picture). As recently as last night, August 20, pictures were added for actors. I would hope that this information would be added somewhere on the page. ---Heroes360 14:31, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
      • The reason there is a needs maintenance flag at the top of the page is because there are nonstandard headings on this page, and because sorting the page by when the map was updated is not the best way to organize the list. All the names should really go into one big list. I had thought about adding a column in the table for when each name was added, but I like Heroes360's idea of simply putting something about it in the Notes section...or better yet, I don't think there's a huge demand out there for when the map was updated, but if somebody is really interested to know when a name was added to the map, they can always check the history. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:45, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
  • My mistake, I didn't think it would be grouped like that, but thinking again that is most likly. I think having them all in one table would be the best idea then a user can simply see which ones are verified and which are assignments, however I do think that it may be best if people we already no off were on a different list then u can easilly identify those which we dont know about. --laughingdevilboy 20:20, 21 August 2008
    • Define "those which we don't know about". Is it that their names are heard for the first time here? Is it that their pictures show up in the map for the first time? Is it people we learn new information about? ... I don't think it's a good idea to separate the list by people we know a lot about and people we don't. That's a judgment call, and we begin treading on very rocky ground when we do that. I think we should just keep it alphabetical with the option to sort by name, location, and tip type. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:40, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I mean people who have appeared in the TV series or GN but maybe ur right having one list seems easier--laughingdevilboy 21:40, 21 August 2008

Ordering

Now that we've merged the sections, I recommend merging them all in alphabetical order, unless someone wants to separate them by date added. Therequiembellishere 12:45, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

  • Totally agree. Also, the ones that have pictures on their tips should all have pictures here. Luckily, for the majority of the characters, NBC used the pictures we have, which will certainly make life easier for us. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:14, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Yer I have stated with the photos, it takes some time though as you have to find the person on the map and check if they have a picture and see which one it is. --Skywalkerrbf 13:15, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
      • It makes it even harder if you're like me and the map hasn't loaded for you for more than a week... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:21, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

Which images to use?

The debate is whether or not to use images for people who don't have images on the actual map. My personal preference is that we try to recreate the info on the map very closely, which would mean only using images of people who have images in their tips, and trying to use images which are close to the images on the actual map. However, it's a really trivial topic, and though I personally have a preference, I really don't really care what ends up happening. Either way has its merits. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:56, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

When they put up new pictures, we can take the others down. Until then, why not have them? Therequiembellishere 14:58, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, if the idea is to recreate the info on the map, then putting up images that aren't on the map kind of goes against the original idea. Again, to me, it doesn't really matter too much one way or the other. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:02, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
I think there's no need t have pictures for people who pictures aren't on the map, it might make the page look pretty buts that's not what the page is for. --Skywalkerrbf 16:44, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
I agree - use the pictures shown on the map, no other. And when no picture is included, then no picture should be included in this article either. Pierre 16:56, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
See, I didn't realize that not all of these pictures are on the map. I was wondering why they just happen to use the same pictures that we use in the character infoboxes.--Bob (talk) 00:23, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
Almost all of the ones they have are in our character boxes, too. Therequiembellishere 01:54, 25 August 2008 (EDT)

Sparrow ?

  • Should it be noted that there is an apparent continuity issue on the map ? Sparrow's picture is ... well ... a picture of Future Sparrow. How did the Company get such a thing ? (Now, I get that NBC probably just took the picture from the Wiki, but still ... it doesn't make any sense.) --LeoChris 21:37, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
    • I guess she now looks like her future self. Not sure there's much more to it than that.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:45, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

Bob Picture

In the map it has a black background.--Skywalkerrbf 05:53, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

  • If we're going to be that slavish to which picture we use, we should probably just take down the pictures. A good portion of the portraits are slight variations, and there's no benefit in putting up the exact same picture the map shows when something close enough (different background, different pose, or different dimensions...but same person) will do just fine. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:43, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
    • I'm also starting to think that we shouldn't include pictures... It will be a lot of work to do, since they have started to change pictures (e.g. Molly), and minor adjustments like the one they have made with Bob's pic just doesn't seems worth the effort. Since most images obviously is taken from this wiki, it is probably the best to leave them off this article. Pierre 17:08, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

    • I have problems when I'm on my home computer, which doesn't have very much memory and is quite slow. When I use the same browser on my laptop (which is much faster and has more memory), it works. It might be a memory issue, or the computer you're using, moreso than the internet browser you're using. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:34, 8 January 2009 (EST)

Ability Names

Did anyone else notice that many of the ability names seem to have come from this wiki? I doubt it is coincidental that both 'poison emission' and 'power absorption' appear on the map when they were first used by the wiki. --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 06:17, 27 February 2009 (EST)

Map Wiped

While the map retains all the canon changes made as of Dying of The Light, much of the added content was erased. The Company is disbanded as of Volume 4 and there hasn't been a regular update to the Assignment Tracker in months. Is this notable? --TraverseTown 23:08, 25 March 2009 (EDT)
