Sigmund Freud was an Austrian physician who is sometimes referenced on Heroes.
About
Freud is famed for his theories of the unconscious mind and his idea of repression. He pioneered the practice of psychoanalysis through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst. Freud is also well known for his ideas on sexual desire, free association, transference, and the interpretation of dreams.

Homecoming
In Chennai, India, Mohinder and Nirand discuss the dreams Mohinder has been having, including finding out about his sister. Nirand says that children often bury information in their subconsciouses; he says Freud would say same thing.
Later, when Mohinder insists he has seen a boy in his dreams, Nirand insists that Freud would tell him the boy is merely a manifestation of Mohinder's subconscious.
Then, in a dream, Mohinder sees Nirand tell Chandra the same thing: Freud would tell Chandra that the boy is just part his subconscious.
