I uploaded a new image for this ability. It is better quality, and it juxtaposes Sylvia with the Deutsche Mark to show how small she is, rather than just showing her standing next to a wall. I'm not a big fan of split images, but I think it works in this case (at least until we hopefully get a new image in two weeks). I'm not tied to the image, but I do think it's a better choice than the one we had before. Feel free to discuss. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:09, 13 April 2010 (EDT)
- I think it works. It isn't painfully obvious that it's a split image and it provides a much clearer demonstration of the ability than the last one, which just showed a woman in spandex against a wall.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 22:23, 13 April 2010 (EDT)
- I've found another image that I think works better, the only issue is that it's the title image, and therefore has the credits on a brick wall and a speech bubble. So far I've managed to eliminate the speech bubble without any noticeable effects, but the font on the brick wall is giving me a hard time. Does anyone have enough skills to make it work?--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 21:47, 26 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm usually pretty good with manipulating images, though Jason Badower often shares his art that has no text on it. However, I uploaded an image of Sylvia's hand holding the car, and I turned it a bit. I think it's a really good, somewhat symbolic image of how big she can become. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:36, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- I worked on the image to lift the text-blocks so we can show her lifting the car against the building backgrounds, much more visual effect. I also replayed the image in the gallery that contained the text-blocks with a new picture of her throwing the car with Thompson in it. I think this works about as well as it can for the limited number of ability pictures we have of her, and them not being very 'landscape' friendly. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 04/27/2010 11:42 (EST)

Question about ability
How does this differ from Size alteration? It seems like the same ability with a different name.--Cro Magnon 11:38, 16 April 2010 (EDT)
- Maybe they are indeed the same ability, and the writers just did to humiliate us, or maybe there's more to Sylvia's ability than we've seen. Let's wait and see what FtFoP 6 holds.

- Perhaps she can change her mass without changing her size (becoming heavier or lighter). --Ricard Desi 14:34, 16 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm not sure what is meant by the writers humiliating us. If Sylvia changes her mass, she would not weigh as much. Eric Lee Harrison was still "surprisingly heavy". But we really don't know very much about mass manipulation. We've seen it in use one time. Perhaps Sylvia can change the mass of other objects, too--not just herself? Perhaps she can change her mass without actually changing her size? Who knows... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:47, 16 April 2010 (EDT)
- Mass manipulation may allow her to alter the mass of other objects as well as just herself, as Ryan says. I do agree though- like fire breathing and pyrokinesis, it looks like the exact same ability called by two different names. Swm 07:21, 19 April 2010 (EDT)

- Perhaps this discussion should be taken to a theories page?User:derdev789
Her clothes
When she used the ability, why is her clothes not torn apart? No matter how stretchable her clothes are, surely it shouldn't shrink or grow to fit her size. Do you think this is an effect of her ability(meaning she can channel her ability to affect her clothes) or is just a mistake on the part of the artists?--Realistic 06:45, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- It's not a mistake, it's an example of ability extension, much like Claude and his clothes. --mc_hammark 06:47, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- That, or it may have something to do with the outfit she wears. Definitely not your typical attire.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 18:06, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- Shouldn't it at least be noted in the Notes section or in the ability description itself?--Realistic 19:44, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- Perhaps something like "It appears that Sylvia make her clothes grow/shrink as well", but I'm not entirely sure if that's necessary.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 20:00, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- It was done in Claude's ability description.--Realistic 20:08, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- It's a slightly different situation however. Claude has been shown to make objects other than his clothes disappear. Sylvia has yet to accomplish something like that.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 20:18, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- Though with an a ability name of mass manipulation and the passing of Claude and Thompson through the wall, I'd say we should note every single thing that happens around her. --mc_hammark 04:29, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
- She didn't pass through a wall. If you look closely you can see Thompson's leg sticking out on the other side. --OutbackZack 14:23, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah, she passed through the wall, and passed them through as well. Otherwise I didn't see the point of them putting in that wall part at all. --mc_hammark 14:32, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
- She went through the door frame, hence why Thompson's foot is sticking out throw the other side. I guess the artist put the wall there to show it was another room. --OutbackZack 14:35, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
- The door frame was on the other wall. That must be an error then. Cause by the way they were standing, the person whose foot was through the door frame/wall should have been Claude, because of their positions. Also to question is where the door itself is, it's not on either side of the wall. --mc_hammark 14:38, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
- Yeah the panels seem to contradict itself. One shows a wall with no sign of a door frame. Another shows Thompson's foot sticking out through the other side as if there was one. The best thing to do is email the writer. --OutbackZack 14:41, 28 April 2010 (EDT)

Pass through walls
She passed Thompson and Claude through a wall didn't she, and it seemed like she was going at super speed. Am I interpreting this incorrectly or is that part of the ability? --mc_hammark 06:51, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
- The former, I think (no offense). I suppose it could be scientifically plausible but it'd require a ridiculously complicated explanation, and it just doesn't seem worth it.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 16:06, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
