Comic Book Resources regularly holds question and answer sessions with Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite. The weekly posts, titled "Behind the Eclipse", often shed light on and provide insight into the mysteries of Heroes. Following are highlights from the writers' comments.

Episode 6

• Regarding powers (in particular flight): "In all cases our conclusion is that nature provides defense mechanisms for all creatures on land, in the air, under the ocean--the same is true for these abilities."
• "Are [Isaac's] paintings an absolute? Can the heroes change the outcome of something predestined?" "Wouldn't be much hope for the world if his paintings are absolute, right?"
• "Half of [the traffic numbers for the Heroes website are for the webcomic.

• Regarding finding meaning in different comic books (Tales from Space, D.J. Doom, Cosmic Man): "This might be a case of looking for meaning where there is none....Those books are just books--nothing more."

• "For the pilot, Claire's school mascot was indeed the Trojan (and therefore all of the press photos...were taken for said Pilot.) However, when we were scouting high school locations for the series, the mascot for the school we was, you guessed it--The Wildcats. Coincidently, the school had the same exact colors, just a different mascot. So, to make our lives easier (and the high school happy) we changed the mascot to the wildcats. That way we could keep all the signs the school already had in place."
• "Clea DuVall's character, FBI Agent Audrey Hanson, said she 'pulled the Sylar case' three months ago. For clarification, was that the first time Sylar's actions made him noticed? Or was that just the time when Clea's character got the case?" "Both."
• The algorithm "holds some major answers for viewers."
• "Learning to use these abilities is like learning to ride a bike. The more you do it, the better you'll get."

• "We did lots of research in crafting our stories--some of which came from Hindu and Indian mythology. Remember how we've said the number 9 is important? Has anyone looked into that yet? If you haven't, start digging."
• "Either Sylar's a terrible shot, or Peter had some other help in fending off those flying locker doors."
• "As far as we know right now, there is an arrangement of start and stop codons that our people have that indicates their potential for having an ability. And so far everyone on the list seems to have that marker."

Season Two

Week 1

• Bob is part of the original 12. "When you see the photo that Kaito's death card was taken from, you'll see Bob's pretty face as part of it."

Week 2

• The Company was formed by the group of twelve. "One is a subset of the other."
• "The set of eight paintings could very well be the last art we ever see from Isaac."
• Peter did not get his electromagnetic power from the teenage patient.
• Regarding regeneration: "Head grows body, since it's all about the brain." "Everything in our world is still science based. And so far, in our world, matter can neither be created or destroyed."

Week 3

• "BBC is producing the content independently. But this is still the Heroes-verse so anything is possible. Bridget might be showing up where you least expect it."
• "The symbol means something."
• "For now, consider Lyle's true parentage undetermined."

Week 4

• "Monica can only do things within her physical limit."
• If West and Nathan had a race around the world, Nathan would win. "He has the age and experience to fly rings around this newbie--literally."
• Is it not a guaranteed thing that siblings would both have abilities. "There is never any automatic in genetics."

Week 5

• "Sometimes symbolic representations of evolutionary survival is just symbolic representations of evolutionary survival."
• Elle's and Peter's power does not involve electromagnetism.
• The nightmare guard's backwards speech was a reference to Matt's dyslexia.
• Both Peter's passport and the photo of the group of twelve suffered from production errors. Peter's passport will be fixed in the DVD.

Week 6

• "We've always said we're just seeing the beginning of these abilities--all of them can grow and change and get more and more powerful."
• "Ivan isn't one of the 12, but he is of the old guard. Kinda like H.R.G. is to our current batch of heroes."
