#ifexist isn't working
- -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:35, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
The Bottom Bar
The bar at the bottom which says all the stuff like "Heroes Wiki logo designed by" and "Privacy policy" is somewhat residing in the middle of every page rather than the bottom. It's kind of annoying. I have a picture of it, but it's not uploading for some reason.
- The picture would be very helpful. Which web browser are you using? and is anyone else also seeing this problem? (Admin 09:06, 2 May 2008 (EDT))
- I found a few things I missed when modifying the new version of the skin that could very likely have caused the problem you were seeing. If necessary, try clearing your cache and let me know if things look better now. (Admin 09:26, 2 May 2008 (EDT))
- It's all fixed now. Thanks. --DocM 10:23, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
Hyphen code
Double dashes as hyphens is broken. I think the hyphen code needs to be restored.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:20, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- Fixed now, thanks. I updated the new parser code with the conversion, but not the old parser code (which is the one we're using). (Admin 14:32, 2 May 2008 (EDT))
French Wiki
Because of personnal problems, I have been away from french version for some time. During thses weeks, the user Eutrope had made a very great work. So I think (if you're ok), we could be both co-admin of the french wiki...
Thank you very much. Hope to read you soon. Desperate July 05:56, 5 May 2008 (EDT)
- Thank you for letting me know. I left a note on Eutrope's talk page, we'll see what happens! :) (Admin 06:07, 5 May 2008 (EDT))
The Upfronts
Hey, I just found online the schedule for the upfronts. This is when and where the networks will announce their final fall lineups:
Monday, May 12, 2008
NBC -- 5 p.m., Rockefeller Center
Tuesday, May 13, 2008
ABC -- 4 p.m., Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center
The CW -- 6:30 p.m., The Tent at Lincoln Center
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
CBS -- 4 p.m., Carnegie Hall
Thursday, May 15, 2008
Fox -- 4 p.m., City Center
So we should learn what's coming for fall in a little over a week.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:25, 7 May 2008 (EDT)
- Great stuff, Miami! Hopefully some of my other show I watch/other faves get renewed!--SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:21, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks! I couldn't find a date for the Sci-Fi channel, though I'm guessing it's the same day as NBC. I'm curious to find out if Sci-Fi will pick up Journeyman, Bionic Woman or Jericho.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:33, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
- On Monday (yesterday), NBC released its upfronts schedule with timeslots for its new dramas. I've listed it on my subpage for reference. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything written about Sci-Fi Channel's schedule, though they did announce Telemundo's... Hrm. Anyways, still crossing my fingers Sci-Fi will announce by the end of the week.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:20, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
- ABC and the CW upfronts were Tuesday as scheduled. I've updated my listing accordingly.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:12, 14 May 2008 (EDT)
- I updated the cast list for "Surviving the Filthy Rich" and "Crusoe". Crusoe's cast is shaping up rather nicely, I think, and that may be an understatement. Have you looked over the listing, Admin?--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:42, 23 May 2008 (EDT)
- Just added the CW's new Sunday dramas that are being created by MRC: Valentine, Inc. and Easy Money. So two more summaries for you to check out. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:33, 2 June 2008 (EDT)
Removal
Sgtbenc is requesting account removal. See here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:25, 11 May 2008 (EDT)
- I deleted the user page in case there was any info in the history there the user didn't want seen, but accounts themselves never get deleted. (Admin 22:44, 11 May 2008 (EDT))
- Understood.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:04, 11 May 2008 (EDT)
What the fu-!?
Sometimes I visit this website using Firefox on a Mac. When I visit some pages, a little window pops up that says, "The document has no data," and when I click "OK", it pops back up again and prevents me from exiting the page. This usually happens on the recent changes page or talk pages. Can you explain this? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 14:19, 14 May 2008 (EDT)
- Hmm... I use Firefox on a Mac sometimes, too, and I don't think I've seen that happen. I'll keep an eye out for it. Do you have any plugins installed that might be causing the problem? (Admin 18:19, 15 May 2008 (EDT))
Imagelinks German Wiki
Hi there... we're experiencing some problems with the Imagelinks on the German site. Normally if you click on a picture this page opens. Now it only appears an error page like this. And it seems like this only happens with the "original" pictures of the english Heroeswiki. This one works, but it's a picture I uploaded. Is there a way to fix this? Thx. --Muffin84 18:46, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
- Thank you for letting me know. I'm taking a look at it now. The maintainers of MediaWiki really messed up this newer release. Other releases are usually much smoother. (Admin 20:15, 16 May 2008 (EDT))
Swedish verision
Sorry, but I don't know if I can translate the wiki to Swedish. When I asked som fans before you putted up the wiki, then they was really intrested to help but now they aren't. And I can't translate the whole wiki by myself. So it's up to you if you delete the Swedish verision or if you find another admin. Sorry... --DanielR 08:33, 26 May 2008 (EDT)
Articles with &
Why do articles with & work in the english version (like in Nat & Noo Hotel)? While it doesn't work in the german one... I could create a page with this name (new pages) but it's no working, it directs to just Nat. Is it possible to fix this or should I just create a page with and? --Muffin84 09:13, 5 June 2008 (EDT)
- It was something I had to specifically fix here. I'll fix it on the German site in a moment, too. (Admin 10:02, 5 June 2008 (EDT))
- Now it works. Thanks. --Muffin84 10:49, 5 June 2008 (EDT)
Digg
If you're still up, will you do a Digg page for me for Interview:R.D. Hall? Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:29, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
- Sure. (Admin 00:44, 12 June 2008 (EDT))
- If you're willing to update the ads for this interview too, I've listed some here.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:04, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
Forum
I just wondered, have you ever thought about having a HeroesWiki forum? I know a lot of people here use the 9th Wonders boards, but I think it could be a pretty cool addition if you thought it worthwhile. -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 11:36, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
- That idea comes up from time to time. Here's an archive of my reply last time it came up. :) (Admin 13:50, 12 June 2008 (EDT))
- I guess that makes sense, but if you ever change your mind I'll be more than willing to help make one :) -- Friskymuffin - (talk) 11:20, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
SDCC
Are you still planning on going this year? Kristin just posted a tentative schedule.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:18, 19 June 2008 (EDT)
- Sure am. I took care of my registration, flights, and hotel last year. :) (Admin 00:57, 20 June 2008 (EDT))
- Cool. Looks like it should be good this year based on the schedule.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:26, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
- Are you flying out soon? Considering the increase in ticket costs, I bet you're very happy to have bought your plane tickets last year. Hope you have fun.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:59, 22 July 2008 (EDT)
- Actually, I had another personal event come up at the end of this week that I wasn't willing to skip, so I had to cancel my trip to Comic-Con this year. Oh well, I'll try again next year. (Admin 01:14, 22 July 2008 (EDT))
- Oh my, sorry to hear that. I hope everything will be okay.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:34, 22 July 2008 (EDT)
- It's not anything bad. I just had to make a choice which one to attend and since one is for a close friend I decided (easily) to skip Comic-Con in order to attend it. Just a case of unfortunate timing. (Admin 01:37, 22 July 2008 (EDT))
- Oh my, sorry to hear that. I hope everything will be okay.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:34, 22 July 2008 (EDT)

Heroes Trading Cards info/request to upload information
Hey there, I was wondering what the rules for the Heroes Trading Cards would be. I know they have all the sketches and things on the website. But I was wondering if I could upload all the images from the cards and post all the info for informational purposes. I don't believe this would be against copyright laws, since sites that sell individual cards (for other trading card games) have to post the image in order for the user to see what card they are buying.
I just think this would be an EXCELLENT addition to the Heroes wiki page, but I just wanted to get a confirmation that it would be ok to do this. Thanks!
- As long as they're not really high quality images it might be ok, but I'm not positive. Basically for the images to fall under fair use they need to be used to demonstrate or explain something. If they're all just uploaded and sitting in a large gallery then I don't think we could do that. What kind of info is on the cards? Is it character info that we already have covered in the character articles for instance? (Admin 00:56, 20 June 2008 (EDT))
- We do have a page for trading cards, but those we have listed we've gotten explicit permission to use from the artists in question. Can you do that for the cards you want to add?--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:28, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
Amazon ads
Amazon's already listing Vol. 2 of the GN collection: http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-V-02-Tim-Sale/dp/140121925X
Just giving you a heads up in case you want to add it to the ads list.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:44, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting for Amazon to add it! (Admin 14:58, 20 June 2008 (EDT))
- Cool. Ok, here's another heads up. Amazon has the Volume 2 DVD now up for pre-orders. Can you come up with a Heroes-friendly link to stick in news and on Heroes: The Complete Second Season (DVD)?--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:52, 21 June 2008 (EDT)
- Regarding the recent interview, Comic Book Lettering: The Comicraft Way by Richard Starkings is on sale at Amazon.com. Roshell also mentions helping out with Elephantmen.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:30, 21 June 2008 (EDT)
Interviews
- I've started to make that list - do you want me to carry on with it? I'm asking you, because Ryan hasn't been on in a few days. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:02, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
- If you're making a list already then you're welcome to email it to Ryan and me if you'd like. I don't know if he has an IMDB Pro subscription already or not, but it might help him contact people in the future. I don't know what IMDB's terms of use are, but I'd imagine they don't allow you to publically post the info, right? (Admin 15:04, 20 June 2008 (EDT))
- Regardless of whether they let you or not, I think it's better to e-mail it since some of the info. is probably the private variety. Ryan's been out being campmaster this week, so that's why he's been around less, but I think he would appreciate the information if you e-mailed it to him. You might be able to coordinate contacting the talent agencies together or something.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:11, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
- Hmmm, well this isn't talent agencies: it's predominately managers and publicists, if I can find them. I've already got detals for several of the Heroes cast. Admin, do you have an email address, and I'll send it to both you and Ryan once I'm done?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:27, 20 June 2008 (EDT)

JG Roshell interview
You should update your 9thwonders.com post: JG Roschell stopped doing the graphic novels as of a month ago. Currently, the person who's doing them is Comicraftsman Albert Deschesne.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:19, 21 June 2008 (EDT)
- I tweaked it a little so that it's accurate again. Thanks. (Admin 23:21, 21 June 2008 (EDT))
Interviews..
- Hey Admin! My IMDbPro trial ends tonight, so is there anyone in particular you would like to see interviewed, so I can get their details? Thanks,-- Lost Soul talk contribs 09:27, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- Anyone?-- Lost Soul talk contribs 12:10, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- Hmm. Zach Quinto, Greg Grunberg, Adrian Pasdar, Ashley Crow, Cristine Rose are probably on my list of people I think would be interesting to see interviewed. (Admin 12:14, 24 June 2008 (EDT))
- I contacted all of those, except Cristine, whose details I couldn't find. Anyone other than those? :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 12:17, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- Not that I can think of off the top of my head. If you didn't mind the work and just wanted to milk the subscription for all it was worth you could just go browse the cast portal and jot down everyone's information in case you ever needed it later. :) (Admin 12:25, 24 June 2008 (EDT))
- Can you grab a few of the special effects artists, such as Greg Solomon, Brian Blair, Doug Ludwig? Some of the stunts people, especially Darryl Chan? In any case, if you can grab a few we don't have photos of so we can at least request a publicity headshot that would be great.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:41, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- That's a very good idea. (Admin 12:42, 24 June 2008 (EDT))
- The only person with any details was Ragui Hanna, one of the digital compositors on the show. But they are on the list. I have secured a mini-interview (of sorts) with Hayden Panettiere - it'll be about 3 questions (although I'm trying to negotiate that), which her publicist will send to Hayden. Good times. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:25, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- What's her publicist think she is...a genie? :) Make one of the questions be, "Will you talk directly to us so we can give you a proper interview and not just 3 questions." ;) (Admin 15:30, 24 June 2008 (EDT))
- I emailed her to ask for more questions. I have got contact details for the digital compositor, various digital/visual effects artists, Tim Sale, Wendy and Lisa, an editor, and Aury Wallington. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:43, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- LOL. I imagine her publicist's response being: No, you just wasted one of your questions... Anyways, have you checked out both Category:Crew articles without images and the new cast names in Spoiler:Season Three (assuming you read spoilers).--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:36, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- Haha, she hasn't responded yet. As for your questions; no to the first one, and yes to the second. I have emailed some of the prospective cast members. I just received a reply from Nicholas D'Agosto this morning. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 02:51, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
- Maybe they'd be kind enough to let you email a number of questions and let Hayden answer the ones she wants. That way if she can't or doesn't want to answer one of the few questions she'd be asked she can just pick a different one. (Admin 22:47, 25 June 2008 (EDT))

- I'll check it out. :). Thanks! Update: Hayden's question submission is now at 5. Brea Grant may be able to do an interview. Wendy and Lisa definitely want to do it. Waiting more replies, but it's possible that I may be able to send some questions to God himself. We'll wait and see.-- Lost Soul talk contribs 16:44, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
- That's great. When you go to setup the interviews I do recommend spacing them out by a week or so at least. This way it gives people here time to add questions and can give us time to promote the interview as needed to help accumulate additional questions for it. (Admin 16:58, 25 June 2008 (EDT))
- Sure thing. Wendy and Lisa's is going to be on the week of the 14th July anyhow, so that's okay. Hayden's questions have to be submitted at the end of July, but I'll have to set that up on the week of the 7th so they're there before I go on holiday. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 17:03, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
- I'd love to be the one who interviews Greg Grunberg (if possible), if you don't mind. He's my god damn hero, and I want to tell him so. --DocM 17:58, 25 June 2008 (EDT)

Nicholas D'Agosto interview
Admin, can you announce the upcoming interview in MediaWiki:Sitenotice? Asking you since you're the main administrator around right now. I already noted it in current events but that's not really the same thing. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:02, 25 June 2008 (EDT)
- Done. (Admin 22:50, 25 June 2008 (EDT))
RE:Patroller
- First off, it's an honour to be asked. But I need to know, what does a patroller do? What does the job entail, i.e. will it take up a lot of time? I ask because, well, I'm a student. You know how it is. But I would be very interested. :)-- Lost Soul talk contribs 01:56, 26 June 2008 (EDT)
A query (poss. spoilers)
- Hey there, Admin! I just secured an interview with Brea Grant, who is going to be in Season 3. The folks at NBC have told me I have to wait until the end of August to get in contact with them, but, when I do, they'll try to coordinate some stuff with me. Anyhow, I was thinking about the interview with Brea, and wondering what to do about spoilers? Obviously, her interview will contain some spoilers, so does it go in the spoiler namespace or the interview namespace? Thanks,-- Lost Soul talk contribs 03:01, 28 June 2008 (EDT)
- Congrats! I think this is more a discussion that belongs on the Community portal. Normally, all interviews, spoiler-containing or not, go in the Interview namespace. Since Brea's already been interviewed a couple times already, she may want to wait until she premieres on the show before doing another Heroes interview. That'd probably be better for us too, since we'd have more to ask her about. If we interview Brea before she appears on the show, I think adding a spoiler tag at the top would be appropriate but not using the spoiler namespace.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:17, 28 June 2008 (EDT)
