Lemmiwinks

Hey, there Citizen. I noticed you added your lemmiwinks picture to your user page, but then took it off. Do you plan to use the image still? If it's too big, you can reupload it a bit smaller (if you need help with that, let me know), or use it as a thumbnail, or force its size (again, let me know if you need help). If you want me to delete the image, I can do that, too. Just let me know. Thanks for all your hard work on those new articles, by the way! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:02, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Hey there. You can either talk to me on my page, or if it's easier, right here. Just put your message right underneath, and I'll get it. :) Also, if you want to add your signature, you can either type four tildes (which look like ~~~~ ) or push the signature button. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:10, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
  • OK, I'll talk right here. It's great to start on an empty article and watch as people start to join in.
    • True -- that's part of the beauty of a wiki. ... What would you like to do with the picture? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:13, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
      • What picture? ps: do you have MSN? I don't like to get many emails notifying people's messages.
        • If you go into Special:Preferences there are a few options you can uncheck that will keep you from getting emails whenever people make changes to your talk page or to pages you're watching. (Admin 22:51, 11 March 2007 (EDT))
        • You can just unwatch your talk page and you won't. Heroe 21:17, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
          • About the pic Ryan, I wanted to upload a pic of some heroes dancing but the page won't load:(
            • Okay, I wanted to know about the lemmiwinks picture you uploaded. Would you like me to delete, change the size, or help you change the size yourself? ... As for a pic you want to upload, what is the extension on the pic? Is it a jpg, png, bmp, etc. ... As for MSN, no I don't use it. You can talk to me here -- I check the site regularly. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:31, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
              • Changing the size would be nice. Than you in advance. ps: I started the Bennet's hotel room
                • I'll change the size for you a bit later... Good job on the articles. A few hints: use templates to make bars on the bottom of pages. For instance, typing Miscellaneous Places or Business will produce the bar you're looking for. Also, to find pics, check out some of the image categories, or the portals to see what pics have already been used/uploaded. Hope that helps! :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:57, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
                  • Thanks for all the advice.
                    • My pleasure. You can use the image, now, it's smaller. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:44, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
                      • The pic looks good on your user page (I love that scene from South Park!) ... It seems a bit big, still. Do you need it smaller? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:08, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
                        • If it's necesary
  • Hey Citizen, just to know, if you'r not going to use your old personnal picture, Image:Wallpaper-lemmiwinks-1024.jpg, could you add (by editing the page) this file the tag ? It will make the site more... clean! Thanks :) -- FrenchFlo (talk)        20:45, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Signatures on talk pages

  • Hey, Citizen. When you post a message on a talk page at the end you should include ~~~~ at the end which will place a signature and timestamp. This helps everyone distinguish who's message is who's at a glance. The signatures only go on talk pages though, not on article pages. Thanks and nice work on the pages so far. :) (Admin 22:49, 11 March 2007 (EDT))

Stubs

Hey Citizen, When you add an article, can you put the stub template at the top if it isn't complete? That way, it won't accidentally get overlooked. Sometimes people see that the article has been added and assume it's finished; marking it as a stub adds it to the stubs category so people know it still needs work. Thanks for all your hard work!--Hardvice (talk) 17:46, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

Ulruru

Hi. I noticed you created an article called "Ulruru". We already have this article at Uluru. Next time check before making an article, OK? Thanks! Heroe(talk) 20:21, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Sorry! I thought it was spelt Ulruru and not Uluru so I thought it didn't have an article here. Citizen 20:29, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

How to...

  • Hey Citizen... You really need to read the Help:Contents. When you upload a screen, you have to categorize it, and add a source, and it needs to be standard sized. When you create small page, you have to stub them, add the fancreation tag if it's needed, and when you modify a portal, make sure the style looks good (same pict number in each row etc)... Thanks for your edits but you clearly need to edit existing page to see how they are done and copy their style... or read the help! -- FrenchFlo (talk)        11:41, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
    • Thanks for all your contributions! Heroe(talk) 11:43, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
      • That's what I do. Edit old pages. I was about to add the stubs but someone beat me to it. -User:Citizen
        • You did just fine. Sure, you could stand to do some reading, but couldn't we all? Don't worry about getting everything correct--just try your best, and somebody will be around to help fix it up. Great find! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:15, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

So good they named you twice

Well, well, well, Citizen, you have entered an elite group of users who have been mentioned twice by Hana. Pretty cool! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:10, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Awesome! I didn't notice. Are there any more users? -User:Citizen
    • As far as I can tell, Blondehorizon and italian_mallard are definitely on there twice (though yours is the only one that is shown in full twice). KrossFire, Slade, Timmay, and sabre0link are possibly repeated. Incidentally, there is also a CitizenKane on the page. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:11, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
  • I saw your post on 9thwonders.com mentioning it including the screenshots. Since you linked to Heroes Wiki images from offsite, could you also add a link to the wiki in your posting on the board? Actually, I notice you've got one of the images hosted here in your signature on there, too. Could you just include a link to Heroes Wiki in your signature then? Thanks! (Admin 22:28, 17 April 2007 (EDT))

Mission.JPG

Hey, Citizen. Just so you know, I deleted the image (Mission.JPG) that you uploaded because it was a duplicate image. If you need the image, you can use Image:Be the one we need.JPG. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:56, 1 May 2007 (EDT)

Red links

Hi, Citizen. I noticed you removed a red link to the Company on Ted's file. It wasn't a typo, it's a wanted article. Just wanted to clear that up. Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 13:01, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

  • Didn't you mean "The company"? -User:Citizen ps: how do I type a pipe?
    • No. The Company leads to a list, but we are also going to make an article about the company itself.
      • To make a pipe links, type this: text For example, if you want a link to go to Mr. Bennet, but want to make it say "Claire's dad", type: Claire's dad. --Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 13:26, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
        • The pipe is located above the "Enter" button on most keyboards. You might have to press shift if it's the same button as the backlash (\). — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:44, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
      • The Company currently goes to a list of articles related to them because we didn't have enough information on it to really make an article on it. The Company should become its own article. The article itself can include a link to the list of articles related to The Company. Company should be a redirect to The Company. (Admin 14:10, 19 May 2007 (EDT))

Domain

  • Tell me more about your idea for a website. Will the web comics be something the two of you create, or comics created by other people? (Admin 13:36, 31 May 2007 (EDT))
  • We will create our own, original comics and maybe submit comics that visitors want us to display.-Citizen

Image uploads

  • Please do not upload images here and then use them as signatures or bio pics on other sites. This is not a file hosting service. Thank you. (Admin 09:29, 6 August 2007 (EDT))
    • Oops, sorry. Won't happen again. (Citizen 10:11, 6 August 2007)

Just a friendly reminder--when uploading images, don't forget to include a brief description, the source, and a category. For instance, for the South Park images, something simple like

South Park Kaito

created with South Park Character Creator

will suffice. (Great images, by the way!) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:47, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Again, can you please put a source on Image:00045925423751400yh1.jpg? Just write the website from which you got the image. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:21, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

Images

You've uploaded 4 images of Hiro and Kensei fighting, each one increasingly distorted. Typically we don't distort images if we can help it. If the purpose of the image is for the prophecy article, then the standard size should be 300x200 px. Same goes for the two images of Niki you uploaded and the one of Peter. Also, those images have already been uploaded. See Image:Painting realized 5 of 8.jpg, Image:Painting realized niki bashes the door.jpg, Image:Painting realized hiro takezo duel.jpg. In case you want to look for an image in the future, you can always check the episode's images--for instance, Images from Out of Time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:42, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Promotional images

Hey, Citizen. If you're uploading images from NBC.com, make sure you mark them with the proper fair use tag: just add image-promotional on each image. Also, do you have plans for all those images? Some of them seem to be duplicates. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:01, 25 November 2007 (EST)

  • I'm planning on adding some images to the Season One Character Histories like I just did with Niki (which didn't have any images at all). Is there an image page where I can see all promotional images?--Citizen 16:30, 25 November 2007 (EST)
    • Category:Promotional Images. Also, images on character pages could be from episodes. So when you get around to adding images for, say, Claire, check out Category:Images of Claire Bennet. Oh, and don't forget to add periods to the captions of the thumbnails you add. Good job on Niki's S1 page, by the way--I thought you were very judicial in your use of images. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:13, 25 November 2007 (EST)
      • I'm aware that each character has their own image category but I thought it would be better to use promotional images since the other images don't share the same quality. I didn't add periods because in the Images section of the "tutorial", the captions didn't have any periods but I'll use them next time ;). What do you mean by judicial?--Citizen 17:29, 25 November 2007 (EST)
        • "Judicial" means you used good judgment. The tendency is to overload a page with a ton of images (see here for an example of a page that has images which were not judicially added). Limiting yourself to 3 or 4 images for a long page like a season history is a good idea....The problem with using promotional images is that tall ones (like this one of Niki) look horrible when they're made into thumbs--the thumb command only affects the width, so it's much better suited to images that are longer than they are tall. That said, there's nothing wrong with using promotional images, but I personally prefer to use images that are from the episodes, especially since not all promotional images are of events which actually occurred....As for the periods, the idea is that if it's a sentence ("Niki punches Candice."), it gets a period. If it's not a sentence ("Peter flying"), it doesn't. The reason there are no periods on the captions on Help:Images is because none of the captions are sentences. I'll fix that now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:43, 25 November 2007 (EST)
          • Ah, I see. Well, so far I've only posted things that happen in the show and is there any way you can make the pics not look horrible?--Citizen 17:47, 25 November 2007 (EST)
            • No, not without overriding user preferences for thumb width, which wouldn't be very nice of us. :) Using landscape images (which means they are longer than they are tall) is a good idea. Most of our standard sized images (450 x 350) look pretty good when they're made into thumbs. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:57, 25 November 2007 (EST)

Image categories

Please don't forget to add a description, fair use statement, and category to the images you upload. For instance, if it's a picture of Derek, something as simple as

Derek

would be sufficient. If you need help or don't understand how to do this, please let me know and I'd be glad to explain it in more detail. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:48, 11 December 2007 (EST)

  • I do understand, I'll be sure to put that in next time. Thanks.--(Citizen 14:49, 11 December 2007 (EST))

Categories

Citizen, please add categories to your images. All your recent additions need categories. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:51, 21 February 2008 (EST)

Characters in GN form

Do you still have a subpage that only compares how characters have been shown in the various graphic novels? Check out Image:Micah Gunnell's Linda.jpg and Image:Robert Atkins's Linda.jpg if you're interested.--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:50, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

  • I think you're talking about Chrisyu's subpage. Mine only compares the characters with 1 graphic novel depiction while Chris' compares different artist's depictions. Thanks for the heads up though.--Citizen 15:45, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
    • Ah, yes. I got confused by the name. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:12, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

I didn't think of changing Dr. Livitz's name on templates and lists, so thanks for catching that.--Aburu 19:44, 21 October 2008 (EDT)

  • No need to thank me ;). By the way, where did you get that name? Was there a nametag I didn't catch?--Citizen 19:46, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I was watching the commentary for Dying of the Light and Chuck Kim mentioned it. Supposedly he's named after a friend of Oliver Grigsby.

Edits to Dying of the Light

Hi there, I'm just wondering why you reverted my edits to Episode:Dying of the Light. I just removed the <noinclude> tags to get rid of the white space... and there didn't really seem to be any difference in the page other than the white space being gone. Any specific reason why they should remain? Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 14:15, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Because the article in its entirety would be featured on the Main Page, not just the small blurb we see right now.--Citizen 15:55, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
    • ....Aaah. Yeah, that's a pretty significant difference. >_<; Well thanks for making that revert then. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 15:59, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

My spelling?

http://heroeswiki.com/User_talk:TheEvilNoob#Civility

did you just say my spelling is terrible?...hehehe relax, im not here to fight, just wanna reason. I always end up in wrong spellings because I type fast and I dont really care about checking it again XD.

NiveKJ13 19:42, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Terrible isn't the right word there. What I meant was that I don't like e-talk much (u, i, dont, cant, ..., lowercase, etc.). Sorry if I was discourteous.--Citizen 19:53, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

Bridget

Hey, I know you uploaded this one image:BridgetGN.jpg before I uploaded this one Image:Gallery Bridget.jpg, but can we go with mine instead; because mine is a group of 6 that have the same naming standard which correlate to the Company gallery pictures here; and the resolution of my version is quite a bit more resolute (29K vs 7K). Any problems doing it this way? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 11/5/2008 14:59 (EST)

  • Nah, I'll just use yours for my live-action/GN depiction subpage. I give you the go-ahead ;).--Citizen 15:09, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • Thanks...BTW, your GN Portrait page is really great. Just found it yesterday. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 11/5/2008 15:15 (EST)

Skywalker

I know Skywalker provoked you when he told you to shut up, but I need you to stop egging him on and stop using foul language. I would just leave the discussion alone completely and not respond to him at all. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:33, 5 November 2008 (EST)

  • I was trying to help him. And you're right, as he did provoke me when he told me to be quiet. I'll refrain from participating in that discussion from now on. And what Thrashmeister said about you son and genocide and family deaths really made me see how selfish Skywalker was acting.--Citizen 06:06, 6 November 2008 (EST)
    • Thanks, Citizen. I know it's not easy to refrains sometimes. :) Thrashmeister made some very good points and really put things into perspective, didn't he? ... By the way, my son is doing okay--he's not growing like he should, and so they are doing lots of testing on him. Ugh! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:04, 6 November 2008 (EST)
      • Maybe for you but not for me. I probably was being over dramatic but I did spend so much of my life doing these interviews it has left a gap. I was provoked by being told to get a grip :S. I am sorry to hear about your son but I am trying not to drag that fact into this and I now it must be a hard thing going on in your life.--Skywalkerrbf 11:26, 6 November 2008 (EST)
        • You're what, fifteen, sixteen years old? A few months of your life is hardly anything. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 11:53, 6 November 2008 (EST)
          • Why does my age matter?--Skywalkerrbf 12:04, 6 November 2008 (EST)
            • I suggest we all stop responding to Skywalker since he takes so many of our comments as criticism and abuse. He has a history of taking things wrong on this site and on Lostpedia ([1] [2] [3]). He has said a few times over the last few days that he is leaving the wiki ([4] [5] [6] [7] [8]) but he seems compelled to have the last word or answer people who respond to him. I would suggest that everybody drop the whole thing so that Skywalker can leave in peace. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:20, 6 November 2008 (EST)
              • Some of the comments were abusive you have to admit. I always try to answer what people say so they know what they meant by it. Thanks for asking people to leave me in peace here, and yes I do easy get offended and stand up for myself, that's who I am. I can't say I don't as I am doing it right now but I am only saying this so you can see my side.--Skywalkerrbf 16:57, 6 November 2008 (EST)
                • Your train is leaving.--Citizen 17:50, 6 November 2008 (EST)

Petrellis' marriage date

Hey, Citizen. You've been changing Arthur and Angela's marriage date from 1965 to 1964. However, in Genesis (which takes place in October 2006), Peter says "they were married 41 years." Similarly, in Villains (also 2006), Angela says, "After 41 years you take it where you can get it". 2006-41=1965. I'm assuming you're taking the "18 months ago" to mean that the events of Villains took place sometime in 2005. We don't know exactly where the present timeline is, only that it's after March 2007 right now. However, we know that the events of Villains take place in April 2006, which means that the present timeline would have to take place around October 2007, I guess. I would put less stock in "18 months ago" since we don't know exactly "when" we are right now, and more stock in what we do know. We know Genesis took place in 2006, and we know that Linderman's prosecution, Peter's graduation, Arthur's funeral, and Nathan's accident all occurred in April 2006. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:34, 16 November 2008 (EST)

  • Either way, we're in March/April 2007, which would take us 18 months back to October/December 2005, respectively. 2005-41=1964. The reason why Peter said 41 years in Genesis was because Arthur wasn't alive for a 42nd year. Notice that after the anniversary party, the timeline shifts to "One year ago", only then making it March/April 2006.--Citizen 06:53, 17 November 2008 (EST)
    • So you think there's a 6 month gap between the opening scene of Villains and Arthur's death? Hmm, I suppose that makes sense. What makes you so sure we're in March/April 2007? I mean, I know it seems like there's only a few days between the press conference (March 22) and the present events (like Usutu's death), but are we sure it hasn't been longer than that? What you're saying is very logical, and it's probably right...but I'd just like to know a bit more definitely where (or when) we are right now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:56, 17 November 2008 (EST)
    • Well, think about it. 18 months ago is the opening scene, and then comes the Flint/Meredith robbery scene, with a title card that says "One year ago". So yeah, 6 months have passed ;). And yeah, I'd like to know exactly when we are too, but I think its safe to assume we're as far as early April 2007.--Citizen 09:25, 17 November 2008 (EST)

Patroller

Hey, Citizen. How would you like to be a patroller here? Take a look at Heroes Wiki:Patrollers and see if it's something you'd like to do. If so, reply back to my talk page. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:26, 11 December 2008 (EST)

    • Great! (To be honest, I always thought you were a patroller--it wasn't until somebody just pointed out that you weren't that I realized I had somehow overlooked you.) Take a look at Heroes Wiki:Patrollers and read some of the tips, etc. Don't forget to add your name to the page. Try patrolling some unpatrolled edits. Let me know if you have any questions. Congrats! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:02, 12 December 2008 (EST)
      • Congrats on becoming a fellow patroller, Citizen! If you have a question about patrolling and Ryan is not around, you can also ask at Heroes Wiki talk:Patrollers.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:02, 12 December 2008 (EST)
        • Thanks for the kind words, guys. I think I'm getting the hang of this, and I will definitely ask if I have any trouble patrolling.--Citizen 14:20, 12 December 2008 (EST)
          • I am actully the one who reffered you to a mod, Citizen. Raiku 16:52, 12 December 2008 (EST)

Patrols

Just wanted to say thanks for doing so many of the recent patrols. Much appreciated! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:26, 19 December 2008 (EST)

  • I'm a patroller doing a patroller's job. ;)--Citizen 18:02, 19 December 2008 (EST)
    • Thanks, Citizen. It's a bit of work, especially the theory pages and adding people's sigs. :)--MiamiVolts 18:37, 19 December 2008 (EST)
      • You're doing a great job, Citizen. Also, regarding this, I know it can be really hard working with youngsters and people who simply don't "get it"...but that's the nature of working with an online community, especially one that is powered mostly by youth. You are somewhat of an exception as a teenager--you're one who "gets it". I know how hard it can be to have patience (Heck, I'm a sixth grade teacher!), so I thank you for showing forbearance and maturity. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:29, 22 December 2008 (EST)
      • Oh and again thanks citizen and Sorry, :) Gabriel Bishop 14:09, 23 December 2008 (EST) Gabriel Bishop

Stubs: Thanks!

Thanks for fixing so many of those stubs! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:25, 10 January 2009 (EST)

  • Yes, I'm tackling stubs now :-). Am I doing good with the content, though? Never considered myself much of a synopsis/character history expert.--Citizen 10:07, 10 January 2009 (EST)
    • I haven't checked them all, but the ones I've seen look good to me. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:31, 10 January 2009 (EST)

Re:Character history

In which one did I do that? I hardly ever write character history sections, my edits to character pages are usually in the infobox or in ability sections. The only edits I do to character history are grammar corrections and cutting down double spaces, since the style has shifted/is shifting to one space at the end of sentences instead of two. Hey, Citizen. When you get a chance, could you add a source to Image:Simon.jpg? Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:36, 19 March 2009 (EDT)

Alpha-ed your gallery and formatted wiki-script in a test-page

Hey, check out this page...User:HiroDynoSlayer/Citizen's gallery, it is a copy of your gallery. I did two things to it, that I think you'll find worth updating your mainpage to. 1) I alphaed all entries. 2) I updated the wiki-script to be block-formatted so that adding pictures and rows and columns in the future will be a snap. I did this a few months ago to User:Chrisyu357's album in his absence, and it has really made it easier to maintain. (Plus the actual visual display hasn't changed...just the underlying format). Trying to keep up with the double-pipes and positioning is much easier to do. If you like this format, feel free to copy it out. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 04/3/2009 13:20 (EST)

Re:Micah's age

My not December argument was againt listing Micah as 13. Micah was eleven when the show started in October 2006, that both in-universe and out, we've seen his 12th birthday party, the one in Four Months Ago when DL was still alive an Niki was struggling with the medication the Company gave her. • Hum, I was sure I read something about Hal giving the computer for a tenth anniversary. Odd. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 21:18, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
    • In Six Months Ago, Hal gave Micah a computer and said that it's amortized over 10 birthdays. I don't think we can say that that was his tenth birthday (or eleventh birthday), but only that Hal had missed ten birthdays. Ultimately, I don't think we know how old Micah is...(Just thinking, this conversation is probably better suited for a page like Talk:Micah Sanders.) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:24, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

Informartion Update

Thank you Citizen :)

That's great. Do you know where I could get this pdf? Or if you have it could you email it to me at janrodrigo.universal@gmail.com

By the way did you see the page; Release and Arc Order ? This is a subpage that me an SVD have been contributing a lot.

Again, I've an unnecessary page that I want to delete. I don't know if I can and how.

I hope, I didn't ask too many questions :)

Thank you very much again,

Location

You're in Broward? Perhaps we can work together on getting Heroes to do a convention down here one day. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:42, 21 September 2009 (EDT)

  • That sounds interesting, Volts, although I wouldn't make it as big as a convention, but we can discuss this. What's your email? :)--Citizen 20:13, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
    • You can use miamivolts -at- heroeswiki.com (replace the -at- for an @ symbol and remove the spaces).--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:16, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
