Niki's powers

Hi, there Piemanmoo, and welcome. I reverted the change you made to Powers, and I made your edit to Broken nose guard a bit more ambiguous because Niki's powers are still unconfirmed. Personally, I happend to agree with you 100% that Niki breaking the baton was her realization of great strength, but there are a lot of others who disagree just as adamantly. In the end, it's not confirmed one way or the other. See here for a previous discussion on the topic. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:44, 13 February 2007 (EST)

Okay, you uploaded possibly my favorite user image ever. Nice. ... If you don't mind, could you put a source on the image? Even something as simple as "created by Piemanmoo" would be fine. Thanks! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:04, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

re: happy birthday

  • Thank you, by my clock you were an hour late. Actually I was born later in the day so it is alright, and you said it before anyone in my family. -Lөvөl 12:54, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

I think Ryan is right...

I have only been on this site for a short while, but what I know is that all of the Administrators are doing there best to have both consensus and accuracy. I think we should be grateful that these guys are so helpful. Your comments about where to draw the line, "crossed the line (lol)" and I feel that this was inappropriate. It is quite obvious that accurate ability naming has been an ongoing struggle for this site, and I feel that the administrators have developed a wonderful system. If you do not agree that is fine, but criticizing a plan that has been months in the making and still in its first stages is unfair. You should be supportive of these individuals. Random guy 21:59, 4 December 2007 (EST)

  • I agree that they've all worked very hard on the site and the systems, but please don't think that I'm not supporting the admins themselves. I'm just trying to explain how I think the system could be changed using constructive criticism. To me, the problems is deciding on what is cannon and what is speculation. If we could create a system to identify that, and then combine it with the current power naming system, it would be pefect. But obviously, this is just my opinion and I wouldn't want anyone to see it as me trying to make it anything else. --Piemanmoo 22:15, 4 December 2007 (EST)
    • Thank you Random guy, and thank you Piemanmoo. I certainly don't think you're being unsupportive of the sysops, and I understand your concern with the site's naming conventions. I did think your comments here were bordering on being antagonistic rather than helpful, but again, I understand that you were trying to play Devil's Advocate. I just didn't think the criticism was very constructive, and I wanted to let you know that. If you have an idea for how to improve our naming conventions, please present your ideas and we will listen. That doesn't mean things will change, but I can certainly say that the five administrators are not close-minded guys. But in the end, it's not even really about the admins, or supporting us, or what we think of the naming conventions. It's really up to the community and what they think. We have long long discussions so we can make sure everybody is heard and everybody's opinion is expressed. It's often impossible to reach unanimity, but we try to find consensus, or as close to it as we can, before we make major changes. Your opinion really is valued, and I always enjoy seeing your name in the recent changes for talk pages because you present your thoughts clearly and honestly. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:39, 4 December 2007 (EST)

User:Heroe/Mr. Muggles jokes

Please stop removing the content from Heroe's user subpage. He is taking jokes which are in the public domain and putting his own spin on them, as has been done on countless other websites. He has also provided links to a Wikipedia article about the joke phenomenon. He is well within his rights to post a user subpage of that sort. Thanks for understanding. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:19, 21 December 2007 (EST)

  • It's kinda the point that some of them were copied from Chuck Norris jokes. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 14:15, 22 December 2007 (EST)

Good job with the Portals.

They are a beast, aren't they? I'll take care of the template, if you want. -- Lulu (talk) 19:25, 3 January 2008 (EST)

  • I guess you've got it. Good job, again. -- Lulu (talk) 19:38, 3 January 2008 (EST)
    • That's okay, but thanks for offering. I agree, we should probably come up with some sort of auto-formating feature when we add new people into the portals, especialy when they're near the begining of the alphabet. Oh well. --Piemanmoo 19:40, 3 January 2008 (EST)
      • I believe Ryan said Season two is automated, thankfully. It'd take more effort than it's worth to go in and add automation to Season one, now. -- Lulu (talk) 19:48, 3 January 2008 (EST)
        • Yeah, I guess that's true. Still, maybe if I have some free time (extremely likely) I could add the code to automate it. I usualy have a knack for wikicode, plus I'd like to learn that kind of stuff in case we need more of it again.--Piemanmoo 20:25, 3 January 2008 (EST)
          • Well, I can't imagine a season that's over will be receiving much more additions, but you could always suggest it to an admin. -- Lulu (talk) 20:29, 3 January 2008 (EST)
            • As I recall, it's already been discussed on Talk:Portal:Abilities and elsewhere's. It actually wouldn't be that hard to automate, but the administrators don't want it automated so I didn't bother with it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:31, 3 January 2008 (EST)
              • It's not a matter of "the administrators" not wanting it automated, it's a matter of several people who happen to also be administrators raising valid objections to the idea. Everything is a matter of consensus. If anyone thinks it's a good idea to automate it, check out the discussion on Talk:Portal:Abilities first and then provide some input. I rarely edit portals so I didn't even get involved in the discussion since the others discussing it have much more experience than I do and have a better feel for the implications of automating or not automating it. Though if season two's is automated already then it sounds like they're being approached on a case by case basis, so I don't know if there's been any discussion on the benefits of automating season one specifically. (Admin 20:37, 3 January 2008 (EST))
                • Right now, none of the character portals are automated. Season two guest stars are automated, because guest stars are easy. For season two characters to be automated, we need to make some adjustments (most notably, about 30 articles need to have a sortname added--see User:Hardvice/Guest stars). We also need to add a variable to character box to allow us to override really long article names (or we can just truncate, which will look ugly) and since DPL throws up on blank/missing included template fields, it'll need to be set for all season two characters. Season One is a bit trickier because we have a lot more characters with missing or nonstandard fields (and a lot more characters in general), but it's doable. Another problem is that some of the characters have image= set to just the name of the image (i.e. Image.jpg while others are in the form of a link (i.e. [[Image:Image.jpg]]). Character box handles that fine, but again, dpl likes things consistent. The question is just whether editing 109 articles to automate a portal which probably won't see any new additions except really crufty ones like Lonely woman is worth the effort.--Hardvice (talk) 21:01, 3 January 2008 (EST)
                  • My apologies for the initial brevity of my comment. I didn't mean to sound confrontational. Season One Minors has been mentioned specifically, and the valid reasons for not automating it relate to control of the portal: if it is automated and a photo is changed for Season Two, the Season One portal photo is automatically changed and that is not desired. Thus, the Season Two Minors portal and any other "Season" portals will need to be de-automated after Season Two is confirmed officially over. There are also reasons for other Season Two portals not to be automated if you check out the referred talk page. As a side note, I've been working on a function/DPL help offline which notes some of these reasons for clarity purposes. Hopefully, it will warm up enough this weekend for me to finish it. Now I'm going to go huddle by my heater and I'll read Hardvice's long comment laters (no offense meant).--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:19, 3 January 2008 (EST)
                    • We've talked about the automation some more on Hardvice's talk page if you want to follow the additional discussion(s). It will probably be brought up for a consensus check before any change is made as there are consequences to whichever decision that is made.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:43, 4 January 2008 (EST)

Deceased diners

I guess technically the word should be 'terminated' or 'gone', but yeah, I agree that the Diner that blew up should be considered deceased.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:20, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Portal/Navbar changes

I realize it's an easy revert, but in regard to the evsdropr portal/navbar we normally talk about merging or splitting portals on the related pages before making such a change. Similar discussion at Talk:Portal:Graphic Novel Characters has been against merging them. Nicely done on the inclusion work and grouping, though. I noted on Talk:Portal:evsdropr-Related Graphic Novel Characters that it could be converted it into part of a related-articles page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:34, 2 July 2008 (EDT)

Theory pages

No need to write something is stupid on a theory page. It's better to just refute them. We have plenty of crazy theories to go around, and some of them might even be true. ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:58, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Assigning The List to characters...

Is this a good idea? I know it's in your userspace, but if someone were to stumble across it, they might think it's legit, no? Dunno. I personally find it creative, but it could be dangerous. Also, the pages go to waste if the character actually appears.--Riddler 17:47, 7 November 2008 (EST)

  • Um, what are you talking about?--Piemanmoo 17:48, 7 November 2008 (EST)
    • Deaf Agent = Daniel Buzzetti, Curtis Hovespain, etc.--Riddler 20:31, 7 November 2008 (EST)
      • I quite like PMM's user pages (like User:Piemanmoo/Daniel Buzzetti, for instance). They're in the user namespace where they belong, they're well-written fan fiction, and they're good fun. I don't think there's any danger in them. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:55, 7 November 2008 (EST)

Homosexuality

I like pranks and I did get a kick out of what you wrote; however, I need to keep a level of honesty in my work, so I had to undo what you contributed. Sorry, I need to keep my pages truthful, but if you have anything funny or creative to add to the page other than what you wrote, I'll be sure to keep it as long as it passes a fact check.--Bentonyang 12:41, 27 November 2008 (EST)

  • I regret to inform you that I had to undo yet another one of your contributions to my page. I got the humor in it and I know no harm is meant, but I know others will find it offensive and I'm really trying not to offend anyone. If you think it won't offend anyone, feel free to redo what I undid and leave me a comment as to why it should stay. --Bentonyang 23:12, 30 November 2008 (EST)

Electric manipulation

Please don't start making a lot of changes before this is fully hashed out on the talk page. A consensus was not officially reached, and so the power name should not have been changed. --Stevehim 18:11, 2 December 2008 (EST)

Your AT's

Hey man. Would you happen to remember the name of the font you used for your characters' Assignment trackers? I'm trying to make my own, but I can't seem to find the right font. Psilaq Remake 14:58, 6 December 2008 (EST)

Anna's ability

Let's not move the ability before discussing this, please. I also think she can be moved to mental manipulation now, but it isn't clear whether she exhibited power blocking or Red Eye simply stopped using his ability so we should discuss it first.--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:21, 30 December 2008 (EST)

  • We have no evidence that Primal Rage is even a power that's suseptible to blocking. Splitting Anna and the Hatian's power was done on a whim, and with the new GN's evidence there is no reason not to re-merge them. But, since everyone here seems to enjoy swimming around in red tape, I'll humor the discussion some more. --Piemanmoo 06:24, 30 December 2008 (EST)
    • Ok, thanks. I agree with your position, but would rather not jump the gun.--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:27, 30 December 2008 (EST)

Hey, PMM. How would you like to be a patroller here? Take a look at Heroes Wiki:Patrollers and see if it's something you'd like to do. If so, reply back to my talk page. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:07, 2 January 2009 (EST)

Danger subpage

Most likely. :P I'm only adding an episode a day (maybe one or two more if I'm bored) so it won't take up a lot of my time, and the most I've had to add to one episode is six "examples of danger". (For One Giant Leap)--IotV 18.03, 6 January 2009 (GMT)

I'm sorry Piemanmoo, but there is no consensus on the trafficker's ability being telekinesis, untill there is a consensus on that, it should stay as a different ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 09:39, 11 February 2009 (EST)

I know what you mean about not liking them, especially when they don't agree with your opinion or they reach no consensus. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:45, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

  • I don't mind a consensus that doesn't agree with my opinion, I just can't stand ones that dont go anywhere. There's too much red tape involved, and some people forget that the naming conventions are here to help us, we're not here to help the naming conventions.--Piemanmoo 12:28, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

As you may know, a group of Heroes-Wiki-Users are writing a fan fiction called. We are happy to announce a second Cockney Heroes competition. Enhanced vs Super strength

Hi. Sorry to bother you, but the issue of whether or not to split the enhanced strength page has re-emerged with overwhelming force in favor of splitting it. Ryan has said that in order to split it, we need to contact those who objected and are still active, and see if their opinion has changed and/or if it ok with you to go ahead and split it. As you are one of the three people he specified contacting, I figured I would do so. I will refrain from presenting arguments here, but the current consensus check is here. Thanks very much for weighing in on this. --Stevehim 23:46, 11 February 2010 (EST)
