Webisode talk:Dark Matters
Classification
Should we classify this as a webisode series? Sure, you can't watch it on your computer in the traditional sense, but they are still only accessible via the internet (assuming you have an iPhone or iPad, that is). -Kon (talk) 12:59, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- Yes, I think it should be classified as a webisode series. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:21, 11 July 2015 (EDT)
- Should this be moved to Webisode:Dark Matters? -Lөvөl 19:26, 23 July 2015 (EDT)
- I'd imagine we'd be moving it to Dark Matters (disambig) soon, similar to Nowhere Man (disambig) or Destiny (disambig). -Radicell (talk) 21:26, 23 July 2015 (EDT)

Screenshots
I uploaded several screenshots straight from my iPad that should be edited (such a cumbersome device to do real work on). It may be a while before I get a chance, if someone would be willing to do it, it would be great. -Lөvөl 13:58, 9 July 2015 (EDT)
- Awesome images! Keep them coming! iPads are more for content consumption than content production. You put them up in the format you've got, let me know, and I'll gladly fix the images up. I made standard 450x350 sizes for most of them. I figured the Hero_Truther guy will become a character, different than the HeroTruther profile page on YouTube. Not sure yet... And I left the EVO card picture you had, but made a standard 450x350 size that redirects to big one, since I figure EVO cards are going to have their own page, but we'll still want to have full images of the cards we see. Exciting stuff! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:48, 11 July 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks. I am pretty sure Hero Truther is someone we already know, but we will have to wait to find out for sure. -Lөvөl 02:52, 13 July 2015 (EDT)
- I hope not. We already saw that plot device with Rebel... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:23, 13 July 2015 (EDT)

Chapter One: Where Are the Heroes?
Chapter One has been up since the App released. It's 6 minutes 53 seconds and includes the preview of Dark Matters at the end. The webisode can be found by tapping the three lines in the top right (I believe this is the menu icon), then choosing "Heroes Exclusive Video." I may have missed it somewhere, but everything from Dark Matters still seems to be labeled as a spoiler and I don't see this first episode anywhere on the Wiki. Am I missing something?
Here is the nbc.com link to the "Episode Guide" Chapter One: http://www.nbc.com/heroes-reborn/episode-guide/dark-matters/101 -- Heroes360 (talk) 00:35, 13 July 2015 (EDT)
- What you're seeing is a 7-minute preview for episode one. (Pretty cool, eh?) The actual episode will be released on July 24. Also, that three line menu icon, I learned a few weeks ago, is called a "hamburger". Who knew? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:52, 13 July 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks, I think I was thrown off by the official nbc.com page saying that Dark Matters, Season 1, Episode 1 aired on July 9. -- Heroes360 (talk) 03:19, 13 July 2015 (EDT)
- I didn't see that announcement ... but that's the day that the Heroes Reborn app was released. That's probably what it was referring to. Fortunately there's only a week and a half to wait until new content!!! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:44, 13 July 2015 (EDT)
- Looks like it was the full episode. Put July 9 for Episode 1 and July 24 for the rest? -Lөvөl 20:56, 23 July 2015 (EDT)
- Yes, good idea. Except it's July 23 for the rest. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:40, 23 July 2015 (EDT)

- Thanks. That saves me a ton of time! I'm working on pictures now... Taking forever with work and a poor connection at camp... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:37, 23 July 2015 (EDT)
- Would it be better to take a stab at writing out the Moroccan and Nigerian guys' names (as I've done in the commented out parts of Template:AppearancesDark Matters, Part 1), or just to leave descriptions? Also, two minor characters both named Dan? Why!! --Radicell (talk) 21:49, 24 July 2015 (EDT)
- Having the all images here will definitely help when looking for them in the videos, thanks. -Lөvөl 01:20, 26 July 2015 (EDT)
- No problem. I think I'm at a standstill with images. Tanner Kling asked me if I needed any help with finding people, so I'll let him know what holes we have. Hopefully that will help a bit... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 03:38, 26 July 2015 (EDT)
- I may be out of the loop here, but can someone tell me who Patrick Ottinger is? --Radicell (talk) 14:50, 27 July 2015 (EDT)
- In Dark Matters, Part 4, Channel 6 news shows Mohinder's picture, and then says that there are 10 other people involved as terrorists, including Phoebe. Then right before it cuts away, they show Patrick Ottinger's picture. Incidentally, he's also one of the people in Dark Matters, Part 1 who is being registered, during the quick flashes of 20 people. Hope that helps. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:42, 27 July 2015 (EDT)

- Wouldn't "Goateed man" suffice as a name for Jocelin Haas's character? Also, there were several actors whose characters I wasn't able to find in the episode when making the appearances templates. Perhaps someone with a keener eye could take a look; doesn't help that I can only watch the episodes on my phone with my VPN on... --Radicell (talk) 19:58, 27 July 2015 (EDT)
- I'm okay with "goateed man" ... except that I try to be as specific as possible in naming people. "Invisible" is a pretty defining characteristic. But it's open to discussion. I'm getting some clarifications from Tanner Kling. I think a lot of the people listed are in the background videos from HeroTruther. Specifically, the cameraman is the guy from the "Woman Pushes Truck with One Hand" video. Jimmy Rourke is the radio voice. He will be featured again later on in the episodes. I'm working through info now... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:25, 27 July 2015 (EDT)
Interview
I'll be having an interview with the creators of Dark Matters. Feel free to submit some burning questions at Interview talk:Dark Matters. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:43, 24 July 2015 (EDT)
Update
Ooookay ... Time for an update. Pardon the new section -- I just wanted to start fresh. :) It looks like I was able to find all the characters -- a lot of those missing guys were from the HeroTruther videos, which are in the background of Dark Matters, Part 1. I asked Tanner Kling about the various credits that were missing. Some minor spoilers ahead... Tanner said:
"Most of these are in the four viral videos we did. April Clifton is the only one who says her name. And you'll spot her on one of the monitors behind Hero Truther in ep. 1.
"Jimmy Rourke is the radio voice you hear in episode 5.
"Shay Santaiti plays the cameraman (you see just his face at the top) in the viral with the guys messing around the fountain and we see the woman in the BG push the car.
"Patrick Ottinger is the name of one of our staff here. We used his name, but the picture in the news cast is just an extra. All the photos seen in ep.1 are just extras and have no names or significance to the rest of the broadcast series."
Tanner is still getting me some more info, but that's the basics on the credits. Pretty much the only thing we need is a picture of Terry Hart.
I hope that helps! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:20, 28 July 2015 (EDT)
non-appearances
For the record, the only person who was in a HeroTruther video and in Dark Matters was April Clifton. According to the hierarchy we established way back when (specifically that live webisode characters should be categorized "above" live Evolutions characters), April is now a webisode character. So all the other eight people from the other HT videos (like Dan and Captain Douchebag) did not appear in Dark Matters. They are considered evolutions characters, even though they were credited. Just wanted to verbalize that. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:43, 30 July 2015 (EDT)
Rami and Oluwole's powers revealed!
The Heroes YouTube channel just uploaded a video titled "The Odessa Report". At 0:14 seconds, you see that the footage of Claire jumping off the Ferris wheel has been uploaded to YouTube (in-universe), along with the "attempt videos" of the background evos of Dark Matters/HeroTruther. If the video titles are correct, Rami Al-Wazzani can disappear, Dahlia can walk through walls, and Oluwole Adeyemi has super speed. The thing is, it's unclear if the footage in this video will be shown in Heroes Reborn, or if it's just a separate teaser-like thing, since the video is labelled a "digital exclusive". So, if we added this info to the respective characters' pages now there's a chance that it could be spoiler material. Thoughts? -Kon (talk) 05:27, 24 September 2015 (EDT)
- I am kind of wondering the same thing. Since it is a digital exclusive does that mean it is another Heroes Evolution thing and we should put character histories for everyone? Mohinder even had a speaking part. Activating Evolution, Claire, Phoebe, all kinds of people from HeroTruther and Dark Matters. I just don't know if it will be in the show and considered Canon If it's not in the show. ~~IHH—Talk 07:28, 24 September 2015 (EDT)
- I'm ready to call it a Heroes Evolutions video. It's not a typical preview like we've always seen, and it's definitely told from an in-world perspective. Luckily, it was released today, so it's not like we are sitting on it for a week. We've got two hours of new content -- let's see what's used tonight (my guess is at least part of the news footage will be in the episodes tonight) and then make a decision after the show airs. And now is the part where I silently squeal, excited for the premiere! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:29, 24 September 2015 (EDT)

- My only issue with this is Dahlia's power -- I don't really see her walking through walls. So is this canon? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:11, 27 September 2015 (EDT)
