About
In 2004, Chris Hanada and Tanner Kling created Retrofit Films with the idea of pushing the boundaries of web-based filmmaking in digital and other media. In addition to the Heroes webisodes, Retrofit Films has produced mobisode content for My Own Worst Enemy and Gossip Girl, and webisodes and DVD content for Smallville (the animated Kara & The Chronicles of Krypton) and Vampire Diaries (A Darker Truth). Retrofit also produced the gamisode The Rook for Adidas.
Notes
- In 2009, Retrofit's The Recruit won two Webby's People's Voice Awards: best drama series and best drama individual episode.
- In Dark Matters, Part 3, a Retrofit poster was clearly visible at the internship fair at South Western College (see right).
Retrofit is represented in Dark Matters, Part 3. - Patrick Ottinger's name was taken from the real-life Patrick Ottinger, a cinematographer and editor at Retrofit. (The actor who plays Patrick is not the real Patrick, though. He's an extra.)
