About

Genesis

After Chandra is killed, his son Mohinder takes over the lease and looks for clues about his father's death.

Don't Look Back

Mohinder comes into his father's apartment and finds a strange man, dressed as an exterminator, messing with the phone lines. A struggle ensues and the man in the jumpsuit pulls a gun. As the impostor tries to leave, he collides with a woman in the hallway. The woman acquires the gun and turns the weapon on the exterminator, who flees. Mohinder meets the woman, Eden McCain, who used to be Chandra's neighbor; she helps Mohinder examine the apartment. Mohinder finds much of his father's research, including the Sylar tape, the map, and a flash drive containing the algorithm. Eden discovers Sylar's message on the answering machine. Mohinder recreates the map using information he took from his father's apartment in Chennai, including the Genesis files.

One Giant Leap

Frustrated with his inability to decipher the algorithm, Mohinder hurls is father's laptop across the room. Eden discovers Chandra's journal tucked in a drive bay. Inside are notes on Chandra's research, a key, and Sylar's address.

Collision

Eden delivers Chandra's ashes to Mohinder at the apartment. Peter Petrelli visits and tells Mohinder he believes he can copy others' abilities.

Following up on information from his list of suspected evolved humans, Chandra meets with Mr. Bennet. They discuss Claire, and Chandra gets sentimental about his daughter.

Later, after murdering Brian Davis, Gabriel shows Chandra his new power, telekinesis.

Fallout

Mohinder returns to his father's apartment in Brooklyn to find a note from Eden welcoming him back. Later, he receives a phone call from her. She admits to deceiving him and promises she'll explain it all to him ... right after she eliminates his father's killer.

Godsend

Mohinder meets with an FBI agent about the list and Sylar's victims. The agent tells him they ran the name "Sylar" and came up empty. The agent asks him about a name from the list, "Sarah Ellis". Mohinder says he was unable to contact her in Los Angeles. The agent shows him a mugshot: it's Eden. Mohinder explains that she was his father's neighbor but that she's been missing for weeks, and the agent says her body was recovered from Lake Ramsey in Canada.

Later, Mohinder sees Mohinder the lizard and comments aloud that he doesn't even know what Eden fed the lizard. Mr. Bennet, carrying a gun, answers from the shadows: crickets. They talk about Eden, and about Chandra's research, but Mohinder refuses to help Bennet, claiming that instead he'll warn everyone on the list about Bennet's organization. Before leaving, Mr. Bennet gives Mohinder a business card for "when" he changes his mind.

The Fix

After Sylar is sedated and confined to a chair, the two men confront each other. They have an argument, and Mohinder tries to shoot Sylar. Instead, Mohinder takes a sample of spinal fluid, which he uses to make a breakthrough on the list. Later, Mohinder shoots Sylar, who telekinetically stops the bullet and sets himself free.

Peter walks into Mohinder's apartment. As he walks around, a drop of something falls from the ceiling. Discovering it to be blood, Peter looks up, seeing Mohinder pinned to the ceiling. Sylar appears next to Peter, saying he remembers him. Sylar pins Peter to a wall and proceeds to operate on him.

Later, while Molly sleeps, she has night terrors about the being who can see Molly.

Mohinder returns to his apartment from Haiti to find Molly and Matt sleeping. He answers a call from Noah.

Kindred

Matt awakens and finds Molly asleep. He grabs his sidearm and heads into the kitchen, where Mohinder is fixing tea. Mohinder mentions that he'll be working downtown, but Matt tells him that it's not good to do spy work against the Company while Molly is around. Molly hears Mohinder and gives him a loving embrace.

Molly wakes up screaming, and Matt and Mohinder come to comfort her. Matt goes to get her water, and Mohinder and Matt talk to try to figure out what's going on. Molly asks Mohinder when the nightmares will stop, and Mohinder tells her he doesn't know, then sings her a lullaby.

Later, Matt looks at the picture as Molly and Mohinder walk in. Matt asks Molly to find his father since he left when Matt was 13. Matt shows her the picture of his father and Molly backs away. She freaks out and asks him not to look for him. She tells Matt that he's the nightmare man. Later, Mohinder comforts Molly while Matt insists that Molly must find his father. Molly interrupts the pair and tells them that she will try and find Matt's father. After using her ability, Molly is able to tell Matt, despite protests that she will be seen, where Matt's father is. Molly falls unconscious and Matt hears her thoughts as she cries out for his help.

Fight or Flight

Mohinder then takes everyone to his lab on Sylar's orders.

In a possible future, Matt Parkman and Daphne Millbrook are living in Mohinder's old apartment with their daughter and Molly Walker, whom they have adopted. Daphne asks Molly to locate Peter Petrelli, which she does. Matt, Molly, and Daniella remain at home as Daphne finds Peter. She returns after a huge explosion in Costa Verde, and collapses in Matt's arms, dead.

Eris Quod Sum

Matt tries to get hold of Mohinder from his apartment and opens the door to find Daphne pointing a gun at him. She explains that her employers think she betrayed them and she has to kill him to prove herself. He dares her to shoot but she tells him to turn around. Matt describes their future together, Daphne considers his words… and drops the gun. She apologizes to him and he reads her mind, learning that Arthur killed his father.

Daphne is telling Matt what happened and warns they’ll be coming from him. Knox is outside and senses their fear, and breaks in. Daphne tries to run and Knox clotheslines her, audibly breaking her neck. Matt immobilizes Knox and then digs inside his head to find his worst fear. Knox notes that Matt is the one who’s afraid and further enhances his strength, putting his fist through Matt’s chest. Knox considers their bodies and leaves… and the entire mental illusion disappears. Daphne says that they should run but Matt insists on fighting them. Daphne warns it won’t bring Maury back but Matt insists he’s a cop and he deals with lawbreakers like Knox. Daphne says he needs help and Matt suggests they go to Primatech.

The Eclipse, Part 1

Matt and Daphne are looking for Hiro's phone number in Matt’s files about Kaito Nakamura's murder. Daphne is nervous and says that Arthur scares her and she betrayed him. She thinks she betrayed Matt as well and he assures her that he trusts her completely. She wonders how he knows her so well and says that it was a dream. Matt insists he won’t let anything happen to her. They’re interrupted by a knock on the door. Matt opens the door and finds Hiro and Ando. Ando shows him the comic that depicts Matt helping Ando.

Matt scans Hiro’s memories but can’t understand his thoughts, which are in Japanese. Meanwhile, Daphne comments about Ando having "died" the last time she saw him, and when he questions her she says she’s now a good guy. Ando insists the comic book says Matt holds the answer but Matt doesn’t know how to help Hiro. Meanwhile, Hiro is looking at Matt's turtle. Daphne says she can’t handle it and noticed Matt pausing when he said he trusted her. She heads for the door and he reads her mind and picks up a thought of Lawrence, KS. She tells him to back off and speeds away, impressing Hiro.

In the apartment, Ando is reading the 9th Wonders! comic and Matt insists he has to find Daphne. He wants Hiro to teleport him to Lawrence, KS. Hiro turns to a page in the comic showing the three of them at a corn farm in Lawrence, and teleports them there to the field outside of Daphne’s house.

Graphic Novel:Almost Famous

After bending the will of others at the Heather Haze concert, Matt returns home and exhorts Daphne not to user her abilities.

A Clear and Present Danger

Daphne superspeeds back into her apartment where Matt is eating. She says she's been working but he's unhappy that she's been using her powers when he's refused to. He wants to live a normal life but she insists it's boring. However, as he talks, a vision of Usutu appears to him. Daphne, who can't see it, says she'll go along with his plans.

At his apartment, Matt notices that his turtle has gotten out of his tank. Usutu appears to him and says he has a message for him, and explains that he's an illusion. Usutu says that Matt is on a journey to become a prophet and the world needs him to tell them the future. He says that Matt will learn how to paint the future. Matt sits down with paper and pencil; his eyes turn white almost immediately and he starts to sketch.

Matt finishes a picture of himself and Claire examining a picture as someone knocks on his door. He draws a gun and finds Claire. She asks if anyone has come to get him and Matt shows her the drawings. There are several other drawings and he says he doesn't understand. He finds another picture of himself with a dart in his neck, just as someone shoots a dart through the window into his neck. Danko's team arrive and hold Claire at gunpoint as Matt goes down.

Turn and Face the Strange

After making plans to return to India, Mohinder breaks into the apartment, only to find that all of Chandra's and his research have been removed. The landlord walks in, telling Mohinder that he'll have to pay for the broken lock. Mohinder asks about the missing items, and the landlord tells him that Homeland Security came by and took it. They also ordered him to inform them should Mohinder or Matt Parkman arrive. Mohinder warns him against it, and tells him that he checked and nobody was watching. He promises to leave by next day; at that, the landlord tells him that his father left some stuff in storage downstairs. Mohinder immediately asks to see it.

While stopping at a gas station, Hiro manages to reach Mohinder on his cell phone. Mohinder is digging through some papers as he tells Hiro where Matt is. After he hangs up, Mohinder finds information on Operation Icarus, a government program in Coyote Sands. Amongst the papers is a copy of an old security pass for Chandra Suresh, dated in the 1960s.

Later, Mohinder pins strings to a map, with Coyote Sands marked in the middle. He then packs up his father's files.

Notes

  • An unaired scene shown in an NBC promotional image, Chandra's desk has, among other things, a computer, pictures of fetuses, and a newspaper clipping that says, "Mutiliated body linked in murder spree".
  • The subtitles in .07% identify this location as "Suresh's Apartment".

Trivia

  • There is a picture of a moon in Chandra's apartment. Chandra's name means "moon" in Hindi.
  • Chandra's apartment number is 316 in Genesis but changes to 613 in Collision. Each number is the other backwards. In Judaism, the number 613 corresponds to the number of "mitzvot[1]," or obligations, that a person is required to attempt in order to fulfill his covenant with God. This list was first compiled by Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon in the 12th century C.E.
  • According to Mohinder's dental records, his address is 341 Malden Court, #316, New York, NY, 11201. In reality, there is no Malden Court in New York City.
