About
One of Us, One of Them
Usutu takes Matt Parkman to his hut and shows him the many prophetic paintings outside the dwelling. Later, Matt goes inside, eats from a bowl Usutu gives him, puts on some headphones, and goes into a trance. Meanwhile, a turtle crawls across 9th Wonders!, Issue #7.
I Am Become Death
Matt is inside the hut, still in a trance. When he comes out of the trance, he is still in the hut and he tells Usutu who the girl in Usutu's most recent painting is, and that he has to find her. Usutu tells him to find his totem, or guide, and Matt starts to follow a turtle.
Dying of the Light
Hiro and Ando teleport from The Angry Skunk Bar into Usutu's hut, on a mission to "borrow" him for Daphne's employers. Hiro finds a painting of himself being hit by a shovel, he turns around and Usutu hits him with a shovel. Ando wakes him up and Hiro teleports one minute back in time to outside the hut where he sees another painting of him being hit by a shovel, Usutu hits him over the head with a shovel and then goes into the hut and hits the other Hiro over the head. When Hiro wakes up, he sees the other Hiro teleport back in time and goes up to Ando and says they should try things the "old-fashioned way." They wait until night and see Usutu, who congratulates them, and shows them a painting of Arthur's villains along with a double helix.
Eris Quod Sum
Hiro tells Ando that he will not go back in time to figure out how to beat his villains, even thought the fate of the world may hang in the balance. Usutu tells Hiro that he will have to choose his own path, or have it chosen for him.
Later, Usutu makes the substance in a bowl, and tells the duo that it has been a family recipe for thousands of years, and that during that time, it has been used for spirit walks. he tells Hiro to eat the food, so he can go on a spirit walk, and discover how to defeat his enemies. Hiro's eyes turn white and he falls down. Ando accuses Usutu of tricking Hiro. Usutu admits he tricked him, but only to get Hiro to face his destiny.
Villains
As Hiro sleeps, Ando and Usutu watch over him. Eventually, Hiro sits up, still entranced, screaming "Murder!" and chanting the names of the people instrumental in his vision. Ando begins to worry and questions Usutu. Usutu notices that something has disturbed him and asks Ando to fetch him a potion. After Ando brings it to him, Usutu warns Ando not to inhale it. Upon taking the bowl, Usutu puts the bowl under Hiro's nose who immediately falls back to sleep.
When Hiro wakes up, only Ando is there to watch him wake. Not understanding Hiro's stammers, Ando tells him to slow down. Suddenly, they hear Usutu scream and they rush out. To their horror, the two find Usutu's decapitated body lying on the ground. As Ando is still reeling from the shock, Hiro looks around and notices Usutu's head on the ground a couple meters away. As Hiro walks over to Usutu's head, Arthur appears behind Hiro and places his hands on Hiro's head, causing Hiro to scream. Ando is left staring in fear.
It's Coming
Outside the hut, Arthur grabs Hiro's head and drains his memories. Ando leaps at Arthur but is telekinetically thrown away. However, he's distracted by a painting of an eclipse that Usutu made, and goes over to view it. Ando runs to Hiro and urges him to teleport away. They do so, just as Arthur returns and is about to capture them both.
