On October 17, 2011, Claire Petrelli mentions Dr. Hsu while on Christine Harbough's talk show. She tells Christine that she and Dr. Hsu have been working on making her ability transferable. She adds that they have been able to use a transfusion of her blood to heal people, but it only works with people who share her blood type. Dr. Hsu is optimistic that they will figure it out.
On December 4, 2011, Claire tells agents Arbucci and Rodriguez that she has another appointment with Dr. Hsu the following day. Arbucci mishears Hsu's name as "Dr. Shoe" and is confused until Rodriguez reminds him who he is.
