NBC.com's webisode character reference for Gina describes her as sexy, independent, and fiercely loyal, and also notes she is self-described as a "rock and roll chick who moves to a Latin beat". Gina comes from a prominent South American family, but is estranged from her well-to-do father. She moved to Los Angeles to seek her future and fortune, and met Echo DeMille two years ago in a Silverlake dance club. They then quickly fell in love and bought a house together.
