At the Dairy Queen in Midland (which Charlie calls one of the "prime make-out spots in all of Midland for teenagers"), Hiro sits across from Charlie, giving him the perfect view of a young man with a fauxhawk and an eyebrow ring. Hiro watches "Fauxhawk" kiss a girl, "intent on swallowing his date's entire head". Hiro watches as the fauxhawked boy swipes his gooey tongue over the girl's mouth and cheeks, and then "unhinge[s] his jaw anaconda-style to fit more of her face into his mouth." Charlie sees what he's looking at, and giggles.

Later, Fauxhawk grabs his girlfriend's hand and presses it against his lap. Hiro tries to focus away from the scene. However, Hiro accidentally meets Fauxhawk's gaze. Fauxhawk smiles, then lifts his middle finger at Hiro, which his girlfriend sucks aggressively. Hiro winces, both grossed out and jealous.

Finally, after Charlie and Hiro make out, Hiro opens his eyes and sees Fauxhawk watching them. Hiro grins at the boy, sticking out his thumb and pinkie rock-and-roll-style at Fauxhawk. (Chapter 25)
