Saving Charlie
During his final year of high school, Hiro is summoned to Reiko Asakawa's office for obligatory career assessment that all graduating students go through. Even though Hiro already knows that his future plans are to work at Yamagato with his father, he goes to Reiko's office anyway, partly because she is the best-looking teacher in the school, and the youngest by about forty years. As Hiro lays out his career path, Reiko says, "Everyone has choices, Hiro." She looks down at Hiro's file and encourages him to tell her what he wants to do. When Hiro says that he wants to be a Bushido, Reiko is perplexed, looking at Hiro with a combination of bafflement and disgust. After a few moments, she says, "Have fun working for your father." (Chapter 3)
